Glad to see this series again.

A true diamond
Whats impressive about retro games is that they were all programmed from scratch, whereas these days you have a full GUI to build games on. Imagine building a full game working with only text.
if you use a wheel, you should do a wheel cam!! love the vids
I imagine Squirrel bumping into Wub Wub, or even himself, while driving in Finland.
Or dubdub now :)
Fun fact. You actullt did wrong in killing the lights. This is because in both sweden and Finnland you are requierred to have you lights on even during day time (sorry for my spelling)
bjorn to become a pilot The same with Denmark too.
bjorn to become a pilot reading that i now realise y saab and volvo headlights r on during the day
and Norway. He even drives past a sign in Norwegian just after getting off the ferry in Kirkenes (which is in Norway) that says Daytime headlights mandatory
Your intro looks outstanding! Keep up the hard work! 😃
GLOBΛL I agree
Amazing! Please bring this series back.
I really enjoyed listening to this, good one squirrel
great video squirrel!!
to go back on your respons of the filming with your phone on a gig, I go to big events where they play my favourit music and favourit artists and sometimes I record my favourit artists and/songs and monthes later, I rewatch that footage and all these memories come back alive, it's so great, that is my take on it :)
Good video and an interesting topic of discussion.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that used to ride Tonka trucks down the driveway!!
Love all your content 🐿
This is great my friend please keep it going all the best
Man this has been a deep episode from 128 bit to tonka trucks and even a wee mention of the zx spectrum (my first computer) ma mind has been blown theres no doubt the robots are coming to take over.
I absolutely loved this series squirrel
Great video @squirrel awesome content per usual keep it up 🤘🤔
Can not wait to finish my coursework so I can start playing this again on the weekends been months!!
I remember playing games from casettes, was a slow way to load! I had ASCII graphics with PEEK and POKE to read/write to the video memory when I started writing my own simple games. I am thrilled how far it is come from 2D black and white graphics to fully immersive 3D simulators with millions of colors.
Not one CZcamsr ever has managed to get me to watch like a hour and a half in one go, of their content of PLAYING VIDEO GAMES and commenting. And I'm on the internet for quite a long time. You're really good at what you do.
BTW the game in question is My Summer Car. Keep it up!!
hey man like your work, and yeah i like the squirrel hat
God! You're taking me back to the good olde days :) Waiting for manic miner to load for 15+ mins.... 14 discs + for Secret of Monkey Island..... 6502 assembler.... You used tot buy a game, there wasn't non of this 'loot box buying....' or 'Pay to Win' You got what you got out of the box... Now we have Raytracing GFX!! Something me and my mates wondered about back in the 90s over a few beers
As for the robots in hospitals question, the company that I work for makes a robot for hospitals. It travels around to the various nurse stations carrying medications, lab samples, etc. It is secure so no one can just remove the contents at will. It also has an elevator interface that allows it to get on the elevator, select the floor, and get off. The future is now :-)
Regarding the retro computing, my first was a Commodore 16 in my teens., black bags full of games. My game on that I can remember was Treasure Island and Mayhem. Miss those times!
''We can't live on this planet forever, can we.''
- Squirrel 2017
Fun listening to your brain bubbling.
And yes, the mobile phone.
I remember cycling all the way to my friends home, and nobody home. Left me like ''dangit !''
Very insightful paul!
very good video 44 years on the road class 1 watching you lol
The biggest difference I see between tesala and the other car manufacturers is the supercharger network. Tesala is essentially building the equivalent of gas stations across the world. They have them in malls and near by hotels mostly in places where people will stop for a short period of time. With the supercharger network they charge very quickly in about an hour or so you can get a full charge
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but aren't super chargers open platform, it's just other auto makers that are fucking it up.
I remember buying Commodore magazines when I had my 64. There were programs in the back of the mag that you could type in. If you had a problem, there would be a line # indicated, but if you went to that one, it would refer to another one. Sometimes you had to wait for next month's issue errata.
Good fun, though.
Cool video. Also, the island is called Spitsbergen. Longyearbyen is just a place. Keep up the good work! 👍
Ahhh. Casettess. Oh what fun. Away from your stated problems with them - there was an upside. If a nice girl, or boy, asked you to make them a tape of your favourite music then it was a sure sign they were interested in you! Not sure how it works now! Did you and Mrs Squirrel exchange tapes back in the day? 😉
SUOMI MAINITTU TORILLA TAVATAAN PERKELE!!!
The daf cf on the ferry looked cool
I think your stall at the top of the hill coming off the ferry was because the main driving wheels (rear axle) were not on the ground - if you had a mid-lift chasis, you could raise the middle wheel to allow power to the road. I've noticed this problem with a couple of ETS2 truckers, where it's usually on the on-ramps, where the truck levels out on the front and mid axles and if the mid-axle is not powered they stall out on the hill. On your truck the mid-axle is a steering wheel so pretty much guaranteed no power there.
Nice truck!
i enjoyed that very interesting geat video paul
Squirrel in a Renault !!!!!!!!
Do you remember Squirrel on the Intellivision the game Truckin? Amazing to see how things have progressed into the American and Euro truck series.
I love your intro plz never change it
Super! Always automatic like!
My first computer was a Windows 98. It was fun; I was like 7 yrs old, MSpaint was the best lol. I still miss it a bit.
Windows 10 is very good thus far; you just need good hardware.
You deserve me makin it aware you fuckin awsome bro!
Squirrel the trailer you have on this video DFDS is my local Ferry company Newcastle to Amsterdam
these videos are brilliant
I think getting a license will become even more voluntary in future, there will be vehicles that robots can't drive in every situation like firetrucks, ambulances and that kind of stuff.
Love this series. Nice to hear your take on thing. Keep it up. Being of your generation I think it's important for younger people to get a view of where we came from and How awesome gaming has become.
My question is this. At which point did you think you could make a full time job of this? What was the threshold for you to make that decision?
About 64/128-bit processors. There is a difference between ALU and memory addressing. They are separate registers. In x86 their bitness is identical, but it does not mean it always has to remain identical, there are architectures where this is not so. Besides, modern processors are not purely 64-bit, they have instructions to work with 128, 256 and even 512-bit numbers (see SSE, AVX, etc.). As for addressing memory, even with 64-bit registers you could access much more. There are AWE/PAE technologies, there is segmented memory model (which in MS-DOS allowed to address megabytes using only 16-bit register that would be restricted to only 64 kbytes otherwise). To conclude, all this makes 128-bit processor even less needed.
Love the videos did i hear u saying they have added ireland to the euro game id love see a video on that taking in the wild Atlantic way its the The Longest Defined Coastal Route in the World
Cartridge games (Temple of Apshai FTW) - no patching them, they just worked.
In cities and congested areas, the ownership of cars is dropping, but here in the wide open spaces like here in Wyoming, U.S.A. you need a vehicle, or at least a horse and wagon.
Hey Paul could you show us your game settings in ETS 2 ? How are you running it so smoothly ? With ProMods ?
He got a good graphics card duh
its mainly about the processor
Squirrel The Renaults nowadays have a Volvo engines. So they are decent under the cab so to say.
Nice ourura back threre 0:35
Another great video Paul! Can you do a tutorial on how to install ETS2 mods for 2017 please? I'm trying to install a realistic damage mod but it won't work. Please help.
I have never seen Paul care that much about a Renault.
I like your content very much, keep up the good work :) And if I can suggest something that you could do a bit better is that you don't drive in roundabouts like that. You have to show indicator to the right whenever you are leaving the circle, and only to the right, no left, or not at all, just right. Thank you.
Windows xp and 7 were very reliable, and I used 7 for quite a long time. But, I also like the new modern look of 10.
Your graphic looks so much different from the previous videos.
What graphic mod did you use?
I think there's only a few jobs that will not disappear to robots.
1. Education
2. Social/health/childcare - how could you talk to something about your feeling if they can't understand it
3. Politicians - robots cant have creativity and they dont make mistakes
Engineers and software designers - someone has to design the robots
toni mikulic, after a while, robots will design robots... but education will also change to robots, I think their are already robots made that can do the same as teachers, or am I wrong here? But I thought in China or Japan they made a robot that is basically a teacher. And if robots won't teach us, we(well, no we, but our children a few generations in the future) will probably just get a chip with all the needed information....
I have seen the teaching robot that has been tested in Japan called SAYA. She is a robot but actually has not artificial intelligence. She has helpers you command her in a way. But the reason i think that robots wont overtake teaching is that we don't know how ethics or feelings. They don't understand humour. They can be programmed to say some pre coded joke. For me at least i think the teachers that really stood out to me were teachers you put a fun unique funny spin on things. I think that robots will make teaching bland again but thats just my opinion.
at the end of the day i believe (if we survive that far) humans will be cyborgs and artificially enhanced. and all we will need to do to learn a semester's work is press a button. i think thats the end of the road for the human race. chips and implants. but that means we will never see sporting legends, racing legends mathematics geniuses. everyone will be the same, the best if you have enough money
1. I prefer to learn digitally, it's probably the future of education. And I don't like teachers in general, so a robit would a been more fun for me I guess.
2. Health is the field that will change the most with advancement in AI. Computers able to parse through thousand and thousand of studies, empirical observations and statistics in every language imagniable will revolutionise medecin be finding cures us human would have never even considered.
3. Once again, advance in IA will provide us with computer able to find good solution to very difficult problems.
4. AI will be better engineers than humans pretty quickly. You pop the constraints into the machine and it will quickly solve everything in a few seconds, analysing tons of reports and other works. And just like humans, the next generation of AI will learn from the mistakes and the success of their predecessors to do better.
toni mikulic, indeed, but that is where we are going to come to a point where we have to decide if we want to be all the same or not, but luckely, we will not live anymore than(I don't know how old you are, but I'm 19, so I might see the start of it, but I wont come close to the end)
Love the look of that weather mod ! Is that HDR on ?
Whoa Squirrels in a Renault
btw Squirrel, headlights are mandatory at all times in Norway, just a friendly reminder
It’s a game he doesn’t have to
is there a possible 5+ trailer mod you could do for ATS ? started playing the game about 2 weeks ago after watching your videos on it and use the mods you had done for your career
this is nuts
My (my, my...) summer (summer, summer) truuuck xD
We've been using self driving tractors to do field work by gps, let me tell you, its weird seeing one guy in the lead tractor playing on his laptop and 500 tons rolls down the road with him
hey Squirrel, truck related comment here... I would like to point your attention to another channel, Cranes Etc , which despite the name actually deals with scale models of trucks and all sorts of possible loads, I wonder how many of the different makes and models of trucks and equipment they cover are represented by the mod community? It would be fun to see things like tunnelling machines, mining equipment, cranes etc (ha) being available as payloads
Hey Squirrel are you planning on doing any more Fernbus? The recent beta update really tidies things up. I am enjoying the game even though its empty in terms of game options.
Convoy self driving trucks is called platooning in america. It was recently banned suited unsafe for the public. Unmanned vehicles probably wont be a thing for commercial industry for a long time. Sure the truck can drive down a certain road safely for x amount of time but at the moment they need a human to check systems etc like auto pilot. 50 years from now? As fast as we are progressing, probably so. Its sad but its probable
Also. The process to produce the batteries for the electric cars is more harmful then the extraction and burning of fossil fuels. To charge the batteries requires fossil fuels as well. Can we go to solar or other clean power? Sure. But will big companies allow that to happen? If they do, how much money will it cost to drive? At a point only the rich will be able to afford vehicles and we will be on the corner paying what we already do to own a vehicle just to get a ride down to the corner store. I see "clean cars" as a political mess as much as fossil fuels are atm. Someones always going to make money off of us.
pleas hellp my promods pt 1 when i download it sas that its corrupted how to fix
Maybe you've explained this already, maybe not, I'm not sure so I figured I'd ask; Do you play American Truck Simulator at all, or TruckersMP for ATS? If not, would you? Maybe even stream it? I got into ATS fairly recently, never thought I'd be into it anywhere near as much as I am. Having a podcast or your videos playing in the background as you cruise in MP, meeting people going in all sorts of directions, convoying with the ones going your way, it's great.
My point being, it would be pretty fun I think if you streamed an ATS MP convoy, and I'd love to join and be apart of it as well. I was apart of another large one with over 100 trucks involved and everyone was respectful and drove competently, it was a sight to see that many trucks rolling down the highway in both lanes, beacons and all in the dark of night. I'm sure you could muster a much larger convoy and we may be able to reproduce the traffic of the USA with players alone :).
15:00 10t limit
I wonder how many people comply?
anonymous person well spotted
Yeah, he had 8,6t overweight per axle track(bogie).
Hi,squirrel can you pls share your FFB settings.I brought the G29 and the FFB is not pleasing at all like in assetto corsa or project cars.
Italy is coming out :D
Done euro work last 15 years wouldn't yard shunt with a Renault would like to see a Greece map used to run down with fridges years ago before the flip flops and ee took over
2. Things, 1. What PC are you using? 2. What steering wheel do you use or whatever?
The Scania truck tried to overtake two times but he can't. Thats funny
Legend has it that he's still trying....
The house sizes are more to do with people being greedy with land prices. The more expensive the land, the smaller the houses. They've also started going back to the tall houses because of land cost
You'd get on better in snow with a 6x4 unit, rather than a 6x2!Two powered axles rather than one.
then the next question comes at 43:56 when will 64-lane motorways be a thing?
It would be good if there was a mod that shows you a clip of the boat sailing rather than just a loading screen
I prefer to play on PC.
Maxzerious Agreed. Honestly if a person is at all serious about gaming a PC is the way to go.
Maxzerious same
KentB27 Yeh
@@97I30T I would really say that's the case
Hello i have one big problem so on my g27 shifter there is green light on but when i try it in game my shifter wont work and on profiler it even wont work so what's the problem?
EstSailor ask Logitech.
GTX 1050TI and I5 4690 , when i drive this truck i go like 25-35 fps when normally i play at 60 fps
Where can I download the mod that all trucks are modified in ets2?
Why would such a small isolated island have such a big sea port?
@squirrel: What are your graphic settings for ETS2? Especially AA sets. I cant get it so crisp.
Star Trek universe, where the only reason one works at a 'job', isn't for money, it's for self betterment. Money is obsolete. Replicators give people food and there is no homelessness, everybody has a place to live and that's all you really need. Technology is so immersive that it is just taken as ordinary part of life and everybody has access to it. You might have to wait a couple of hundred years for that.
then come's the yota byte and the zeta byte, But with regarding CPU's the big est problem is cooling them
I wish the modder who did the company gates mod do one for American Truck Simulator.
does anyone know when is the new scania s is coming out to ETS
interesting aurora effect
Hi. Can you please do a few episodes playing the original Euro Truck Simulator from 2008? Or the 18 Wheels of steel extreme trucker ? Just an old fan of the old scs games speaking here...:D
i love that truck
hi paul the renault T range might not be scs so the scs cant release it so it going to be a mod one for now untill thay sorted out mexcio for ats and others and this truck might not be going to be in ets2 as the scaina s and R like that so it going to be a mod so people can download it but there might be a bug of when downloading cos there updateing the trucks to the new comeing update the 1.29.0 beta and a new map aswell near december and january 2018 there is cos there was a scs update on website about it
you could have used your differential lock to get moving.
Nice Renault truck but the colour is a bit loud, I paint my trucks a metallic white with a blue fleck when caught at the right angle.
I don't understand. This is the full euro truck simulator pro 2017? Or the original play?
I'm from Finland!
Hi squirrel is the trailer selection a mod if so what mod is it.
