It looks like it is taken straight away from the game called Overspeed: High performance street racing. What an idea. Racing game dash to a trucking game :D
Probably way too long a response for CZcams, but here're thoughts from the questions. 1: Main problem I see with the "combined world sim" is map scale. The flying guys want 1-1, the trucking guys want 10-1, the walking guys want even smaller. Remember when ATS felt so small because of the different scale? That'd be what the flight guys would feel with something smaller than 1-1. Conversely at 1-1 your trucking vids wouldn't even make it out of the first country within the time of a CZcams video and the drivers would get bored too quick. 2: PC's will always be faster than phones. If for no other reason than a PC would just become a box you plug a dozen phones into to get more processing power than a single phone. (Though if bandwidth and latency ever get good enough it might become simply offloading all the work to a sever somewhere and you just stream the UI like a terminal. Remote Desktop is fine for a web browser and spreadsheets, but not for 60fps 4k live gameplay) 3: Sim training vs reality training. Both are important. Being able to re-do and re-try things in a sim lets you get practice. You can also try things that would be fatal to try in reality. But the real world comes up with things a scenario creator would never think of. It also lets you practice needing to come up with a plan right now, where you can't pause and have minutes to days to come up with something. It also makes you deal with more real people with real different reactions than whatever's programmed into the sim. Getting used to sounds, smells, weather, movement and getting banged about, etc. So combining the benefits of both is important.
I love to see a sim game with a big map like ETS2 with multiplayer but if if you want to drive trucks you buy the game for it. If you want to drive bus, fly planes, work construction. You buy the specific game for it. All using the same map.
@@carlosmosco5 yeah it has a lot of microtransactions, and the communication between players is really complicated, but the graphics are amazing. The storyline is very slow but fits together really well. The tutorial is with 18 years kinda long, but it flows very naturally into the real game, in most cases. Little warning: you got just one life, so just try to make the most out of it before it's game over
I would love to have in ETS2 things common on other simulators like tyre temperature and wear, aerodynamics, the effects of wind and more realistic engine wear and tear, with different parts needing change more often, like A2A claims to have in p3d.
The first ever VR gen was actually in the 80's, it was very crude, specially the graphics and it kinda got put aside in the 90's, think about that for a minute. It took decades for a real push in customer VR, including an immense progress in the hardware and we're still tapping our feet on the water on the kiddie side of the pool! I guess we need some hardware/software step forward to actually make it viable, let's say 5-10 years! On that note, apply it to Star Citizen and consider that if they can organize a more transparent road map and general strategy and that's a "BIG IF", then we might see something close to the big space MMO they promised.
27:57 Assassin's Creed, perhaps. Animus was more like a memory decoder than a simulator, at least up until AC Odyssey... but still from a person's point of view it doesn't really matter, because of the immersion.
Im really glad to have you back behind the Wheel Again it's a long time since we have seen a ETS2 or a ATS video. I really miss the old ETS2 videos there made you famous. The videos where you drive for fun and just talk over them
I completely understand and accept that it is impossible to model the whole world in a game, but this huuuuuuuuuuuuuge difference between the game and reality regarding the M5 motorway and the surrounding of Budapest is just unbelievable. Also, if the border crossing could have been almost completely correctly modelled, at least the actual distance between Szeged and Budapst could have been implemented as well.. When Squirrel said that we are almost there, I raised my eyebrows high, as it takes about 2 hours to get from Budapest to Szeged on the M5 in good traffic. Again: I do accept the distortions and the modelling things, but maaaaaaaan, please tell me there is a DLC for hungarian roads. Sure it includes hellofa lot of bumps and holes in the surface too :)
Squirrel .. loving the woolish Scouse twang 😁! Question for next week: with this generation (which am half in half out being 27) .. and with the internet being something this generation is born in... Do you think games have changed to feed this generations instant gratification? .. as in ... Do you think games have got easier and have quicker checkpoints so you can get quick satisfaction ... I remember how quickly I used to complete super Mario world for the snes and I went back to it the other week and it was soooo much harder than I remembered ..... What's your thoughts??? Next topic : console pc mobile gaming .. which is best for which genre
Please submit any question or theme idea you have using the link in the description. I have a few hundred to go through for each video, so they need to all be in one place
Hey Squirrel, Have you spoken to guys in SCS regarding the EuroCoach Simulator/ DLC? Fernbus is great but I feel that ETS 2 MAP is a lot more immersive and has a lot more potential. Thank you Greetings from Sydney Australia.
A good question that I would have loved for you to find an answer would be the future of iRacing. A lot of people glance over iRacing and how the technology of that simulator has grown since it was first developed. They already use a dynamic track feature which allows the track to change over time, and that by itself is a crazy addition to a racing game. Plus, most people already have a racing seat and wheel and even a 3 TV screen setup to use iRacing. The real question is how immersive and realistic will iRacing get? I feel the answer is that it might not grow anymore because it's already very close to the real world racing. Hope people respond to this, love to hear your opinions!
I've been hoping for a "World" simulator for a long time now, closest to the ideas are Identity, GTA heavy RP servers. I had my hopes up for Identity but they just released the Town Square module and it's not what I was imagining... sad times.
Does anybody know what traffic mod works with ProMods? I had one but...I only had traffic coming in opposite direction, it'd be empty on the road ahead and without any traffic mods the roads are simply deserted.
dont know if you can make a 4 speed into 16, im no expert, but ive seen others with a h-shifter i think and they seem to have some sort of switch either on the device itself or in-game that allows them to go past 8 initial gears into then the next 8 upto 16. sorry i cant help much.
Notice how the Neutral position is between 3rd and 4th gear? To mimic this on my G25's shifter I've disabled both 5th and 6th gear positions to really try to replicate it as best as I could, but ETS2 doesn't care that I've disabled them, so I'm missing gears when I play. I'd rather leave the reverse gear by default because otherwise it will screw up the positioning of 1st - 4th.
About difference in generations: do you think that difference is subject to location or nationality? I would argue that any change could happen to the teibes of the Amazon that still live till date for example, i dont think observations on gen y and gen x apply there
Yo anybody , I have a question! If i buy the original Euro Truck Simulator 2 game do I need to buy every DLC to have that part of the map witch that DLC represents? If i wasn't very clear sry my English isn't very good!
The truck's dash is just like the interior of a Toyota AE86 Trueno
It does, even the wheel looks the same..
your right
He is driving a truck?!
Running in the 90's

Paul I just wanna say thank you ❤
Question for 'different generations': Would you like to see a historical (say 1960s) truck sim?
I love this series its so nice, I realy get into the storie that Squirrel is telling.
For the best driving in Romania I recommend the RoExtended addon for ProMods. Map has WAY more cities and is much more detailed.
Did a 17ton trip to Iceland from Örebro in Sweden using a Scania T 250hp, now that was fun, and bit slow at time, like 14km/h on second gear uphill :)
TMCN Is back Yay keep up the great work Paul :D
Floor 13 or something like that is simulation where some people figure it out :)
The Matrix used a connection in the neck :)
Feels good to see you driving in Romania, also nice try saying bucuresti xd

The film talked about at around 28:00 is 'eXistenZ'
24:02 In the 1960s, the RAF had a pair of simulators for the Avro Vulcan that could be networked together.
Thanks for the episode, I already know I'll enjoy it! :)

Keep up the good work

Ohhhh he’s saying route advisor!!!! I tonight he really was speaking German for minute 😂😂😂😂
Wonderful discussion. Thanks Squirrel.
I’ve got a few subject ideas: Films, Food, Music, TV, Social Media And Vehicles (hope these are ideas that you could possibly try out)
hi squirrel my name is dale 2months ago you did ProMods 2.30 at aberystwyth and I live in oswestry dolgoch
The gargo you are hauling is the main chasie of a crawler crane that is used to lift the parts of windmills or other high and heavy lifts.
regarding the "world-" or "reallife simulator".. who sure can you be, that we are not already in it with no way out?
#mandelaeffect #asimov
I think it was called Existenz, it was quite a film(simulation in a simulation).
The film you were trying to remember (with the cord plugged into the spine) is eXistenZ.
I came here to add this comment: good work there

hey mate, any idea you know how to setup ETS2 to work like a 4 speed gearbox? for a total of 16 gears with both the splitter and the range switches.
