You can turn the GPS off in ETS2 and ATS. You just need to set a key bind in settings (by default it is not set as anything). It allows you to have the same map functions as the one in the overlay (i.e. zoom in and zoom out) plus allowing you to turn it off altogether.

    • @kelleroid
      @kelleroid Před 5 lety +2

I like to have it set up for the furthest zoom on the truck and the second closest on the overlay, that way I don't have to open the map to look where I turn off while driving.

They really should make the cargo loading process as cinematic, quick showing view of the cargo being loaded in or on the trailer, like at the petrol station show the driver actually be outside and actually fuelling the vehicle or, like you said Paul, some actual activity in the game at ports and other parts of the game. Dear SCS Software,
as you know, your games Euro Truck Simulator 2 ( realased 2012) and American Truck Simulator (realased 2016) are still running on DirectX 9 (realased 2002).
It's a very old graphic engine. The users have the same problem in ETS 2 and ATS : THE LAG!.
Whether you have Pentium 4 or GTX 1080Ti, you still have lag.
e.g. In cities there are many building and the graphical engine can't handle it very good and you get around 40 fps with an i9 and GTX 1080Ti.
It's a shame that these 2 good-selling games don't get an important update like this.
We need DirectX 11 now! We cannot continue like this.
All games from 2013 and above have been released on at least DX11.
American Truck Simulator is just a game with mods copied from Euro Truck Simulator 2. It`s not a new game.
The graphical engine is obsolete from a ling time ago and SCS still do nothing about it.
It`s like they pissing on community.

I bought mine from a company called TechAffliction. You can tell it is hand made (a few minor tool marks on it) but I got it in just over a week and been using it since with no problems. For us Americans who do not want to deal with a company that is depending on your time zone is 5-8 hours ahead of you.

I noticed in SCS ATS, that in Oregon there are way less less "blind side back-ups" than all the other states which is more realistic as no real truck driver wants to back in "blind side" if they don't have too. I still wish the mirrors had a "zoom" feature on them so they'd be more accurate when backing up. What is accurate is putting your head out the the window and guiding your trailer in like that & for blind side, backing up the truck not being in it, using selection #2. Of course if you pull a tandem trailer, then usually you don't have to back up. The other thing, there are not many shot distance "heavy haul" selections and of all the new trailers SCS has provided in ATS, there are no Heavy Haul trailer to really give your "top of the line" Peterbilt a work out. On flat highway, I'm still skipping gears on the 18 speed. ////////// This was a nice Video Squirrel, I love when you do either Euro or ATS simulator drives and leave us know what to look forward. I just filled all my garages 5 drivers each with Heavy Haul capacity trucks including Oregon and I think I'm still 25 million in profit, LoL.... I only have my home terminal equipped with trailers because if I assign all my garages with SCS trailers, then they are unable to do heavy haul in my opinion, or select the best paying loads. I may at some point start assigning trailers and making it a point to visit all my garages which takes at least a week or three and assign each truck a trailer, but right now, having selected the top of the line chassis, roof blinking lights, the biggest engines and all truck 18 speed, I hate to limit them to where not all that is needed, or perhaps is does not matter on ATS, but I had the money so they got the best in trucks & even good paint jobs. Right now I'm using a Logitech joy stick that has left and right steering and lots of assignment buttons and it works great with ATS and I can sit with my laptop on a board on my lap and play a pretty professional game while listening to TV or the Radio etc.. Perhaps when Squirrel shows us what is the best for the money in steering wheels and shifters then I'll sink more money in to that aspect of the game. But for $35.00 the Logitech joy stick keeps it fairly realistic & I only use my computer for very few functions that are not used often while driving. I thought this may interest some new bees or others in general that didn't have a bundle to spend on gaming or are tight for room or wants to relax and play in their recliner like me, LoL............... Congrats on a nice video, and also getting your solo pilots license.

All this talk of wheels and shifters, and here's me playing ETS2 and ATS with a DualShock 4! 😂

Yeah! I've started on the keyboard, but finally figured out how to properly configure a custom set up for the XBox360 Controller for Windows using sequential shifting. It's fun, though I've been having those slowdowns in the saving points, that make it unresponsive since the last updates.

8:54 I seen that happen sometimes when some AI car tries to overtake something and if a vehicle is spawned in other direction, this happens.

You should take the journey again in Kast's (The author of the Ekeri and Kraker Trailer) Kraker Trailer HCT variant.

Alaskan Truck Sim still isn't out yet....nor is Truck Driver. Recently they look kinda alright, but I think they'll be like Euro and American Truck, more about fun driving than anything else. Kinda like Rig n Roll was like perhaps.

Hey Squirrel. Love the idea with the hardware videos. Im still steering with my g27 and my diy 3d printed skrs shifter. So cant wait to see how other wheel perform. Please include how the force feedback compares in the game. For me it was really dissapointing to have that ffb deadzone on my g27 it forced me to use that ffb plugin otherwise it was just unplayable for me. Other than that nothing to complain about. Love the vids!
