This ending scene almost left me in tears. Seeing Mick save Janine was understandable as he wanted her to face the music, but when he went back and I saw Linda, I started to tear up knowing that Mick will die searching for his first love. Then To Build a Home kicked in and I struggled to keep it together! What an exit!

I generally find Eastenders to be a bit too depressing, but they definitely know how to make a sad scene.
No it was total cheesy Miiick lol
Porr mick
Its shocking. Such a bad show
Yet your here 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
I cried so hard and so much watching this Christmas special. My heart aches for mick and at the same time his love for Linda made me cry too. He is such an great actor, he has perfected every scene he does. I now feel empty after watching this episode.
@R G Loooool'
@R G Its trash. i dont even watch anymore The last time it was, good was with with Johnny, Drnnis, Andy,
The moment I saw Mick wade into the water to go an find Linda I just knew the camera would pan round on Linda getting out. Such a fantastic exit and acting by all 3 of them. I literally can't watch it without sobbing! I know it was Dannys choice to leave but I really do hope he makes a return 1 day. Mick & Linda need their happy ever after!
A return? The guys dead ☠️
How ironic that he’s always had a phobia of water and that’s how he ultimately dies.
Just like Tina and being killed by a domestic abuser when her debut story was being domestically abused.
We have no idea if he’s dead or not, soap operas enjoy bringing characters back from the dead. Grant went out like this in 1999 when he “drowned” in the Thames and then came back in the show a few days later.
we attract what we fear
@@H.K.5 I wish he was still alive I guess you never know but eastenders did say it’s his last Christmas and is going out I was sobbing still!

such a beautiful juxtaposition of linda swimming to safety just as mick is swimming to danger their relationship is so beautiful omg
So beautiful that she had an affair with max branning.. that bitch should have been the one who died..

Mick Is Alive
@@KaleemAkbar786 I did see Neighbours with Dee Bliss, I'm not stupid but I'm happy to go along with it XD
The sooner the music played I just knew Mick was swimming to his death. I literally cried and hoped for hope that there's a chance Mick will be safe and be with Linda.
I feel like there’s a chance but until 6 a.m. we just don’t know what Mick’s ultimate fate’s going to be. But at the end of the day if he does get off alive then they’re going to have to explain why he chose to abandon Linda and his kids (unless he goes to Manchester or Scotland to be with either of his kids after coming to the conclusion that Linda’s better-off without him). It’s a tight corner they’ve backed these characters into but that’s probably the best they could do with it at this point while maintaining an element of Christmas excitement. We don’t need Christmas stunts (Janine/Barry worked because it was on the New Year and it followed a happy Christmas in Walford) and I’m not the guy to ask for car chases on the 25th of all days but them-dem have tried, innit. We’ll see how the story concludes later in the day.
@@Anonymous_Anon882mick is supposed to be leaving so I doubt he will come back from this scene
@@Anonymous_Anon882 I think they will be unable to find his body thus assuming he is dead. This scenario leaves the door open if Danny Dyer in the future, decides to reprise his role as Mick. That's just my opinion.

One episode which I never dreaded to see cause mick was literally one of my favourite character on eastenders
Talk about cliffhangers, I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. One of the good things about this was Mick and Linda admitted their feelings and reconciled. Heartbreaking seeing her calling to Mick
Oh I though she was saying Max
Great episode this evening. Brilliant thanks for your hard work.
I am really enjoying the fact that it is written so well, keeping the fabric of Micks integrity. I mean they really do know Mick ! no one is changing him for anything for a big ratings, in a bells and whistles send off!
( not sure if people remember for an example, how Pauline Fowler was written in later years -and how quite unbelievable it all seemed at the time. ) I just am in awe of the deep-thinking writing here and how they carefully craft the characters down to the bone, and really get into their mind space. This episode and the twist-(or not !) is award winning for me. It is haunting and poignant , thoughtful , exciting and questionable. It is Mick. Well Done everyone at EastEnders! You are all beautiful . More! More !

eastenders always wins Christmas day, the best soap of the lot.
I used to watch Eastenders when the channel PBS would show it here in California (by the way, it was 81 degrees fahrenheit/ 27 celsius in Anaheim CA for Christmas). Now I watch this on Britbox and I love how I get to see it without any "give-aways" to what plot twists are coming up for the characters, but I just couldn't resist watching this tantalizing video clip! Now I know Mick is gone (or is he?), what a great way to leave the door open for a triumphant return if the actor ever wants to come back to the show. Thanks for posting, what a gripping episode!
Theory: earlier in the episode mick said that everyone arounds him get hurt and his the problem, I’m thinking that mick saw Linda was safe and decided the best thing for his family was to think his gone. In 5-10 years he will return

The way Linda got in the car with Janine after finding out she crashed her car and made it look like she crashed drunk driving

I've been watching Eastenders since its first episode shown in February, 1985. For me, this was one of the most poignant, riveting and tragic episodes I have ever seen. Because in recent years I was working abroad, I missed much of the trials, tribulations and anarchy going on in Walford. So this year I started watching on a weekly basis. Open ending. That's all I could ask for. An opportunity to Danny to return one day. Hopefully they learned from the mistake of the unnecessary killing of Ronnie and Roxy.
Ronnie is dead. Roxie ain't, her return will happen trust me. Same with Vincent. The writers always tease the returns if you look deep enough.
@@jasonanderson6491 maybe Vincent but roxy please explain your theory.. what about fat boy aswell. Arthur chubb
@Jason Anderson I want them both back. I was gutted when they killed them off. It was unnecessary and the Square hasn't been the same since.
@@philmitchell909 vincent is dead. Phil showed Denise the video in october 2021. And before you say Keanu's "death" was faked and shown on video, Keanu was dealing with Martin Fowler & Linda Carter while Vincent was dealing with Aidan Maguire's henchmen
@@philmitchell909 Vincent is easy... The clip he Phil shows Denise clearly in the film you hear the gun click and after rewatching Vincent's "last moments" he wasn't being filmed and also gave the slightest of nods which he also done when he grassed on Phil with the cops, so it's basically another faked death like keanu did. Arther could be alive as we didn't see his actual body but i do think he's dead and Vincent is the one who sent the funeral card to dots signed Arthur with "Mrs b" written on the card.
Roxy is a little more difficult but... She survived the drowning but not Ronnie. So being close sisters they are (and being a drug addict at the time) a part of her died and she couldn't face the square being that it kind of is her fault Ronnie died and Jack even gets angry at that thought before they find out the "truth". The only body we ever see on camera after their deaths is Ronnie in an open casket but NOT roxies. Roxy (her coffin) was put on top of Ronnie's which I find odd, the theory goes Jay Mitchell helped keep the theory she is dead while she goes off and lives with Christian, leaving Jack with Amy believing thier lives are better without her. So the doors always open for her return, I did think they were gonna do it with amys self harming storyline but we will see... 🤞
