On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

I would like to see Strike Eagle vs Super Hornet trying to get past one another to destroy a designated ground target on the opposing side (SAM's for both sides optional).
Dropping tanks AFTER splashing the bandit has gotta be one of the coldest things I've seen on this channel.
The ability to acquire and hold a lock in the Mudhen is insane, the Tomcat was locked for like the whole engagement

Twentysomething years ago I played Jane's F-15, which modeled the F-15E. One thing that I remember about the ground radar mapping function was that the target had to be several degrees off the nose. Flying straight towards it wouldn't give any detail.
It might be hard to do, but it would be nice to see a video where the enemy’s setup/load out isn’t necessarily known to you. Would help somewhat simulate real combat. There’s definitely an element of predictability or anticipation that dictates how you fly, so it’d be cool to see you have to react to the situations differently.
The long-range lock and then only having to worry about gimble limits seems insanely powerful! Awesome video as always!
GS: Defeated that missile, but narrowly, I think. It was a tight one, I think. I don't know how tight, but it was definitely tight.

This is going to be the new Hornet. Once the Strike Eagle gets all the guided weapons (Aim-9x, HARM, JDAM, etc.) and a HMD It can do everything, except carrier ops, the Hornet does. But do it better in pretty much every way.
If you only want a single module that can do it all, but aren't interested in carriers, this is the one to get once all the features are implemented.
By the way, it was confirmed that the Streagle will not get HARMS...

You had the Tomcat running scared after his two shots. Unprecedented for someone to have the Tomcat on the defensive in a BVR fight for as long as you did.
Wow, F-15E cockpit layout is just like what I remember playing Microprose F-15 Strike Eagle III!
I remember having that game on floppy disk for the C-64. Yeah, I'm that old!
A 21st century Tomcat would be unreal. Modernize the airframe, integrate a DAS, replace the glove vanes with fuel tanks, rip the hydraulics out and make it fly-by-wire, put a giant AESA radar in the nose and run it with a new computer, give it a single-piece windscreen, full glass cockpit, integrate an IRST-21, update the old long range TV camera, give it bigger drop tanks, make a new tunnel missile rack to carry 6x 120s or a couple giant hypersonics... not to mention next generation engines giving it supercruise... it would be a fucking monster
that is basically what they have done with the f-15EX

You should make a low alt night attack run with LONGSHOT as the WSO. Would be interesting to see how you can use the FLIR at night to egress at low level and utilize a human WSO to perform a ground attack

Don't forget, thrust vectoring nozzles was something Grumman was working on as well. More payload capacity, more range, more high alpha capabilities due to the extended front area of the wing etc.
@@aviatorlewski9310 have heard about the draken’s engine only having 4 connections to the rest of the plane, apparently you could decouple them and slide the entire engine right out and slide another in, that is the level of ease of maintenance which is desperately needed on modern jets

Weird, the A10 often needs a laser programmed turned on with a few seconds of flight time left, but it seems like you have the laser on (automatically) from release, which often causes the bomb to fall short, is there a reason this isn't happening here? (and in other videos as well you have done this)
well from what I've seen if you lase from too far out, it won't do it once you get in range it will start lasing, also I think it has something to do with the speed at which the bomb is being released, from an A-10 you're releasing at like 250 knots, the strike eagle toss was 500-600 knots lol, I'm sure that has something to do with how far out you can lase and the bombs energy to get to the target, even if you are lasing from pretty far out. That being said, I don't know shit about air to ground so take all of that with a grain of salt.

Tomcat should have stayed above the mach. 8 mile aim 120 on the deck is easy to beat, but gotta be fast.

Regarding the image generating using the radar. Is it possible for one aircraft to paint a picture and use data link to relay that image to another aircraft or multiple others as a recon/strike force combination?

So what is it the backseater actually does? Both in AA and AG you've managed alone, do you even need them?
Strike Eagle WSO's mostly relieve workload and help with situational awareness.
Both can do everything. Backseat just cannot fire AA Armaments. Usually the WSO is there to support the pilot in whatever way he can, wether that would be Navigation, or weapons employment, Situational Awareness etc.
Before watching the video, yes! The aircraft with better situational awareness wins. As ranges increase, that awareness advantage can not be replaced.

Why did the SAM explode in mid air?
I can't remember, did the Tommy-B have the F110 engines, or still have the TF34s? I'm pretty confident that an F-111 couldn't kill an F-14 enroute to a ground target, but I still love the Aardvark!! I hope they get them in DCS at some point.
