If you hover over an item's description until the background "fills up", then the box stays there so you can check the symbols on it. That's how you can check what the smaller Matroyshka dolls do.
Also, the arrows are better than you think - they double ALL the items in the row/column/diagonal that they point to. They're not just a single doubler!
Yeah, it took me a few runs taking the new symbols to figure out how they work exactly! But like a wild card for a whole row (or they do nothing, oh well :P)
Arrows do have a 30% chance to not point at anything, so the bronze arrow might not actually be worth it
On average, arrows point to ~1.33 symbols, which feels worth it to me
A couple tips on strategy if it's not out of line:
1. The game is random enough that it's very difficult to go for a single strategy. That doesn't mean that you need to go hard into all strategies, but it's good to dabble into multiple ones. The golden rule is to never count on drawing anything in the drafts.
2. Since the game is so random, it is extremely helpful to cut down on variance whenever possible. As such, symbols that remove other bad symbols should be prioritized. I almost always take a single copy of monkey, dwarf, miner, and toddler whenever possible. This cuts down on the chaff to maximize good rolls. It also has an added benefit of giving you more options on future selections. E.x. I'll almost always take a wine instead of skipping when I have a dwarf in my deck.
3. Conversely, symbols that add other symbols should be avoided unless you already have the synergy for them. King Midas is the worst offender because he quickly gunks up the slots with worthless coins, as you noticed.
Yo, how dare you diss King Midas like that! I've found him to be a solid midgame transition when you have a trash deck that won't make it to the late game! Both of my runs with him have been wins . . .
If you have some synergy for him such as 3-coin or protractor then he can be very powerful. But if you don't he's very hard to use. He ends up filling your slots with 1-coin symbols.
With that being said... would the Hex of destruction be good under that situation? It could have had some dope synergy with the Void Portal, and the oversized deck would have been whittled away into a more tractable size (enabling him to focus in on specific strategies rather than have a ton of items with literally zero synergy).
The red an black suits are so insane now... Running an endless mode with 150k gold coins. The next rent is 10,500. I think I got a truly endless mode....

Arrows hit everything they point to. They're actually incredibly bomb.
I did some math and a regular arrow will multiply the value of your board by 1.375.
So if you only had 1, the arrow would be worth 1,375 instead.
By extension, the gold arrow would multiply it by 5,5.

king Midas is bad, i have a rework idea for it:
-instead of buffing nearby coins he consumes the coins giving 4 coins each
-the coins themselves have a new stat that makes it so king Midas has a higher chance to be given to you (or possibly even increase the chance of super rare symbols)
this makes it so both coins are viable and they wont completely fill the deck with garbage
so two things about the matryoshka doll
one. unlike coal, it does not say "Transform." it says "Destroy"
This means, if you had something like a hex of destruction you could skip phases.
as well, it doesnt take much longer than a coal to reach its final form, yielding 4 per turn. this is not as much as a diamond, and does not have the additional scaling, but it makes up for that in being much more accessible than a coal, because after only 4 spins it gives you 1 2 or 3 per spin leading up to that 4, making it much more accessible

The oyster can actually be super awesome. I got a diver a few rounds later, he ended up giving over 30 every turn

I got an early spyglass, went suits, and later got 3 Jesters and a Card Shark - had some rolls where each suit was returning $2000+ each. I eventually lost endless at $7k per round due to a hex killing my jokers; but that was by far my luckiest run and I have a hard time playing any more haha
statistically i we assume the symbols are random you have a 1/3 chance of the total being divisible by 3. SOOOO the white pepper has a 1/3 chance of giving 3. in other words it's a pool ball with variance. Piggy bank is a pool ball but worse.
Owl - gives 5 coins over 4 turns - Thats fantastic | Crow - gives 5 coins over 4 turns - Thats terrible

Owl is 4 coins in 3 turns which equals 1,3333333... coins per turn.
Crow is 5 coins in 4 turns which equals 1,25 coins per turn.

I would have seriously considered the hex of destruction; it could have done a lot with the void portal.
Oysters are actually pretty great since the peals they make are absorbed by the archaeologist and the diver, so you can now farm items to feed them.

hex of thievery seem really bad for something uncommom, without synergie : 70% of +3, 30% of -3 : average of 1.2 ...
while hex of draining is 100% +3, 30% -x . it s in average bad for something uncommom if x>4 . but in gerenal, it s only 1 or 2
A normal uncommon item gives 2 per turn. 2 x 100 = 200. Hex of thievery gives 3 per turn but 30% of the time gives -3, the average per 100 is actually 210 which is slightly higher than the average uncommon item. (3 x 100 - 30%) even if it was 33% instead, the average would still be 201 which is still slightly higher than normal, of course this is random chance so you could theoretically lose money from it the entire run.
@@earuninfecto4881 The most basic uncommon gives 2. The vast majority of them are two and a bonus.
@@punkonthego I'm aware, just saying that its not worse than the "average" uncommon item. It has synergy with witch and tax evasion, just trying to clear up that its not worse than a normal uncommon item. I guess the "bonus" is that you could potentially get lucky and not lose any coins, or the opposite.

No hesitation with coal but the doll is too many spins?
Coal is 20 turns for 5 gold a turn forever. Matroyshka is 4 turns of nothing. 6 turns of 1. 8 turns of 2. 10 turns of 3. so in the 20 turns of nothing from coal, you get around 28 gold from matroyshka. But then the value of the 5 gold per turn skyrockets past the doll each turn after. That's how I see it at least. If you get coal early then it's almost always worth it whereas coal late game isn't as good. Matroyshka is good value in a shorter period of time.
Also important to note the value of coal goes up with the more coal you have since diamonds synergize with each other.

You basically only want about 20 symbols (a full board), any more and you lose value
I feel like it’s not possible to win like that though as you’re going to skip a LOT early to get the quality you need for late game. And if you skip early you’ll lose. (That said with the new update it may be easier to skip early)
@@OlexaYT until the first payday you need to take one tile almost every turn (well... maybe less now with the update), but after that you can normally pick and choose so long as you have even a slight synergy or sort of decent item. It has actually become fairly hard to die early. And even before the update you either had a run you could build strong or one that did nothing and died it felt like

Played this for a couple hours last night. Seems like you just need to pick up crap until the first payment, then focus on one or two synergies. I got to three win streak using that method before I quit.
Unfortunately most powerful synergies tend to need items, and you don't get those until you already have started your slot synergies. At the moment, it seems like there are only a few viable strategies if you want to win consistently. Definitely needs a lot of work to make this game good long term.

Bronze arrow, in my opinion, is baaaad. Often aims into nothing or one item cause it's on the edge from the sheer probability. Better arrows sometimes are logical but bronze one makes no sense. I didn't do the math but I'm speaking from what I played and often I just screamed XD
