1 month in with my 2019 GT and I love it! Interior is top notch and doesn’t look like a space ship command center like other vehicles. Bose sound system is noice! Sexy looking suv. 👍🏽
Nice review Gerald. Just bought a 2020 CX-5 GS model with opt. Comfort Package in beautiful exotic Eternal Blue. Beautiful car, everyone comments on it. My second CX-5. Hopefully my next one will be a hybrid version.
Thank you for explaining the design of the rear and tailgate. I kind of like the more square Jeepy look, but I understand the design philosophy. The smooth design is most appealing. Smooth is the way to go for a refined look. You don't see angled plastic pieces sticking out on a Bentley. Smooth and harmonious is the upscale look.
Yup. Having test driven many cars, I can say that for most cases, you can have either form (smooth/refined/curvaceous looks for better aesthetics and fuel economy) or function (box-like looks like Jeeps and Mini-vans for more room, comfort and cargo capacity). You can't have both. Eg: The BMW X-series Cross-overs are notorious for a very sharp rear sloping roof that cuts out a lot of headroom for rear passengers in order to make it ultra modern and contemporary.
Manufacturers typically use these two design criteria/categories to differentiate and compete against one another.
Nice review thanks dude
It's been the most popular, for many of the same reasons since it came out.
In Australia the top of the range is called Mazda CX5 Akera . I love it and totally optioned Up I love it
Nice review 👍
I subscribed. Best car review 👌 🙌
I purchased a CX5 Mazda Grand Touring 2019. Most definitely good price for the loaded technology. my car is white snow flakes. You pay $200. I'm enjoying my new car so much. Thank you so much.
Thanks for reviewing the GT trim...most of the reviews out there are reviewing the Signature trim...which let's be honest if I was going to spend that kind of money...I wouldn't be buying a Mazda.
The rear seats actually have a slight reclining adjustment you can use. The lever is behind you on the top of the seat.
The host's title is Peng??? Nice shot! xD
I start working at a Mazda dealership on Monday. Your vid is my study guide for this car. 😁 when you say it has 2 engines, is it 2 in 1?
The suspension on these isn't stiff. Its a firm compliant ride for the most part. The beauty with these Mazdas is when they're pushed you're rewarded with an SUV that communicates with you with great feedback and responsive handling/brakes and throttle control. When driven normally you would never know what these CX5's are capable of, but in the right hands with someone who does understand how a car communicates with the driver that person would be suprised. I was one of those people, at one time I used to like Subaru until I fell victim to their poor dealership network and corperate network. I went in to a Mazda dealer on a whim and was blown away with how well the CX5 drove and how it "came alive" when it was pushed.
For sure! Thanks for bringing up that point and it is precisely why I think the CX-5 is so popular as mentioned in the video. Definitely a great car for sure and one of my favorites.
You deserve more subscriber, am 31th.

Ive got the 2019 Grand touring ! whoo hooo !!!
I am the 35th subscriber

As a mk1 CX5 owner. I choose it with expectation of very good driving experience. Its a combination of interior quality, responsive ride quality, and power. It checked all boxed. The styling was not bad-but it didn’t really matter as much. Driving experience is the key.
Only thing that sucks is the problem with disel engine block. Now my car is undergo engine change do to overheating. Mazda is taking care of the problem with their extended warranty on the engine. I won’t see it for another 3 months. Well thats life.
Thanks for the reply. Can you let us know what year and demographic region you live in and what year your Mazda CX-5 is? In North America, diesel cars are a lot less common.
2013 model ExMalaysia. I work in engineering field and completely understand defects and design development. Design flaw is normal and improvement is carried out as expected. But the lack of transparency in service in this matter in Thailand is disappointing.
I'm an engineer as well, developing automotive software. For sure, it's nearly impossible to create a defect-free car especially given how complex cars have now become. But there's also the golden statistical ratio of something like 15% effort is spent in development and the rest is in testing in the automotive industry. Unfortunately, corporate politics and bureaucracy disrupts this ratio, trying to push more features out the door; compromising quality and safety. This is why we're seeing problems with the Boeing 737 Max.
I also used to work with an engine controls engineer from Renault, and he's described diesel engine software as "a nightmare".
every time i am on the road MAZDA CX5
Nice review! Were you driving a Grand Touring reserve with the turbo engine or a regular grand touring with the 2.5 N/A engine?
Thanks for your positive feedback! I test drove the higher end SKYACTIV 2.5L turbocharged engine. Generally speaking a non turbocharged 4 cylinder engine doesn't produce a lot of power, which is OK. But if you drive people around a lot, then it may be worthwhile to consider the turbocharged engine. Hope that helps!
Hi..helloo sir have a goodday.do you have also a review of 2019 honda crv.i need it to only compare their specifications features.who is the best?i loveMazda ad Honda.Ty.GodBlessyou.
@Leonardo, thanks for the question! I test drove the 2019 CR-V a few weeks ago but didn't get a chance to make a video. But I can share with you a few notes.
The CR-V felt bigger and had more suspensions that really helps soak up the bumps on the road. The rear end is also more square rather than tapered like the CX5, so the rear seats also feel roomier as well. Power did feel more sluggish and it didn't handle as well as the CX5, but you get really good fuel economy on the CR-V. I think I had around 8.3 L/100km. Both are around the same price between the highest trims I think.
All that said, if you want something sportier, get the CX5. Otherwise I would get the CR-V for more versatility and road comfort.
Will definitely consider making a review video of the CR-V if I can get my hands on it again.
Good luck!
@@vex123 have a good day sir.i am thankful ur details reply.i aplreciate it.you give me an idea.becuz im.planning to buy soon.either dis 2.Hope u get a video review of the new Honda crv hybrid model.Ty.Goblessyou.more..vlogs!
Does the turbo require expensive premium fuel?
No, you can use regular or premium, but you do get more HP from premium.
What color is this?
Mazda calls it "Eternal Blue Mica"
If you mute audio it looks like he’s rapping
😂
haha, you're actually right. This was my first video, so it was definitely really challenging for me and I didn't even realize this until post-editing. I've pushed out a few more videos since then and think I'm getting better. But would love to hear more feedback. Thanks!
Great car, but it still baffles me how the signature trim in Canada doesn't have a 360 camera, parking sensors. All it has is a terrible quality back up camera. C'mon Mazda.
I feel ya. The backup camera on the CX-5 is not the best, but also not the worst. You'll be surprised how terrible some backup cameras are, even in luxury cars like the Lexus RC350 I recently reviewed in my channel. This is where Hyunda/Kia cross-overs stomp over Mazda with more offerings. Still, I don't understand why manufacturers cheap out on something like a backup camera - they're so cheap already...
Stay Still bro. Jesus
Lool
The deal breaker in Canada is the signature model doesn’t come with 360 degree camera, no parking sensors , outdated reversing camera
Unfortunately, like Netflix, the US version always gets the good stuff! Like you pointed out, some of the elements in the CX-5 are outdated, which is where the Hyundai Santa Fe beats the CX-5 in terms of both luxury and tech features. Do check out my review of the Santa Fe for a comparison :)
If someone needs all that stuff to help them park then they really need to brush up on their driving skills.
I really hate that difference, it's bankers
Then you'll just have to learn how to drive?
@@trespasser121 that's not the point fool... You are pacing similar money if not more in Canada and you are getting less.
The center console is useless as an arm rest. And that media control is annoying, particularly when traveling just a few hours when you have to tune for radio stations.
Yes. I didn't mention this in the video, but the infotainment software on the 2019 model is definitely more sluggish and less intuitive than its other competitors for sure. I usually always just preset all my radio stations so I can switch between them easily. However, Mazda did release a revamped version for its 2020 model that significantly improves the UI and responsiveness.
Very nice guy's presentation on great car ! You should be better prepared,,,,,,come's off as nervous armature hour presentation !
Thanks for the feedback. It was one of my first attempts and I really struggled. Will definitely try to improve and push out more videos!
Are Mazda reliable? I am looking into Mazda😁
Brent Holland it is very reliable and drive so smooth with so many features; I bought a 2019 Mazda cx 5 2 months ago and i just love it
Wallace Sharpe ok I might look into the cx5
2015 Mazda 3 user here. During my 5 years of usage, there was 0 issue. I am also looking into a 2020 CX 5.
Jim Xu o ok , yeah I really like the 2020 Cx 5 , what trim are you looking at ?
@@lakeatman504 GTR or signature. I'd like to have some extra HP and torque..
Good review. However, you may want to relax and not sway back and forth and move your arms too much. Perhaps when you shoot more over time you will get better. Check out Redline Reviews as Sofyan is one of the best auto reviewers out there. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the feedback!
Ray Lat 😂
Bro, the mazda cx5 is the best SUV in it's segment. Better than the Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Kia and the Hyundai. Do you homework dude before posting out a car review video.
Hey, idiot. Haven't you heard of the term "Subjective"? No, you haven't. 🙄
he seem so nervous when recording it show hard to understand anything
Get this guy an English tutor
No. He doesn't need one. His English is fine, and stop being a racist prick. Not everyone's first language is English, unlike spoilt brats like you.
