I have a theory about the rainbows.
I noticed that the rainbow only seems to show up when a punishment is about to happen or is already happening. So I think it symbolizes the glorification of punishment in the cult.

Personally it could also symbolise a twisted form of ‘hope’ as most of the punishment so far has been water/rain based.
Once it shows up, it seems to affirm the belief in the cult and that what she did/is doing is wrong, like a sign from a god for her to stop and accept what comes next

I think Amane's messy house may also be a reflection of her mother's mental instability. No one who abuses and tortures their own children has sanity, and this lack of sanity can cause their general environment (such as their own home or room) to be a mess, as can happen with depression or other mental disorders.

Hi I'm really late but your theory about Amane being an unwanted child and her mother not actually believing in the cult and her father being the only reason she is in the cult made me think of smtg
Her mother most likely pretended to be in the cult and Amane genuinely thought she believed in it (that's why she accepted all the punishments from her bc "it was for the cult") but what if shortly after getting punished for helping the cat she somehow found out that her mother didn't actually believe in the cult's beliefs and was only pretending to do so, so all the punishments were "dishonest" (or rather didn't have any real meaning) so she killed her for being a liar and betraying the cult, so she properly punished her
And also, since I also believe her murder was out of revenge, she might saw her mom's betrayal as an opportunity to finally take revenge and lie to everyone (and maybe herself) that it was nothing but a "punishment"

      @@lusees616 haruka will def attempt,
yuno will be a lil bit bonkers but nothing dangerous and I don’t think people will try to hurt her cause she did nothing wrong, she’s just got bad blood with Muu and even then Muu is guilty so she’s restricted and probably won’t hurt Yuno.
fuuta will be bonkers but pos and probably still not dangerous since he’s still wounded (HOWEVER, he would be a prime victim for anyone looking to lash out on any weak target.) I think he might help Haruka with stopping his suicide attempts.
Muu will be absolutely furious but since she’s restricted she’s not going to be able to do much safe for verbal abuse and manipulative behavior with Haruka
Shidou will take on his role as a doctor as intended. He has one person against him and it’s amane (also possibly Kotoko cause if she finds out about that whole « extract the fang thing » she won’t be too happy, but even then she’s restricted)
Mahiru is inno but that doesn’t change much for her since she’s still crippled. She even forgave Kotoko so there is an opportunity for them to get along again and I doubt many people would be willing to hurt a crippled sunshine.
Kazui’s fate is unknown now but if he is guilty then that is one less weak person (be it Haruka, Fuuta or Mahiru, etc.) for him to protect. He doesn’t have any quarrels with anyone so he should be fine.
Amane is leaning on Inno rn. If she is inno then she will most likely make a move on Shidou. If she is Guilty again then god damn uh why is the 12 year old the only person to have received double guilty? I can’t imagine what someone will have done to them with double restriction.
We don’t know how stable Mikoto is rn cause his trial hasn’t started but I highly doubt he would just attack anyone for the sake of it. He needs to have a trigger for that and I think the only person who would use that against him is Kotoko. In any other case it’s most likely accidental, so I don’t think he needs guilty restrictions to prevent himself from hurting anyone. It’s gonna be okkkk
As for Kotoko I have no idea if she is just going to break down crying cause « she has a soft side! », if she is going to tell Es « haha idc » or if she is going to commit suicide cause she just hurts guilty people and she’s guilty. Either way if she’s inno again I think we can say goodbye to Haruka and Muu. + we don’t know how powerful Kazui will be with restraints, cause he is undoubtedly strong but we don’t know the extent of the guilty restriction nerf. If he gets nerfed a lot, then Haruka and Muu are probably not getting help and that leaves Shidou in danger from Amane and that also leaves Mahiru in danger because we don’t know if she still needs Shidou’s assistance and if she does then she won’t be able to resist getting just about anyone’s help even if they don’t mean well.
Basically, if Kazui is guilty, amane is inno, mikoto is inno and kotoko is guilty:
-Shidou is the most at risk
-Mahiru and Fuuta are not safe from any harm
      -Haruka will attempt suicide.
-Muu is at risk but less than if Kotoko was inno.

In my efforts to learn Japanese and my love of this song, I did some studying and discovered an important detail lost on most of the English speaking audience, my search bringing me through translation apps, the wiki, and finally
. To a karate article, of all things.
See, listening to it, I was paying attention to the words in Japanese as part of my efforts to learn new words- and one stood out to me due to its repetition in two sections
“hitotsu (䞀぀)”. Translated as “T’is ordained”, I wanted to learn the exact definition and usage of this word. At first, I couldn’t find it as anything but “one item” when counting things, and that seemed
lacking context for this song, at best.
So, I dug deeper, weeding out drink orders and other object counting until I found something different
the aforementioned karate article. This is where I found my answer.
Hitotsu is used repetitively in the same way on something called “dojo-kun”. This seems to be a dojo’s rules and each one starts with hitotsu, like that lyrical section of this song.
The boring answer is that “hitotsu” in this context is written that way in a way that says each rule is the first and most important rule- all the rules are the number one rule.
But now, applying that to the context of the song
these are the most important rules. The rules to what are obvious- but that word “hitotsu” places such importance on them that they shouldn’t be looked over as just religious drivel- these are undoubtedly the most important rules of the cult. These are the vows the rest of the song is talking about.
Please- spread this around among the English speaking fans because it strikes me as important for understanding Amane- her past, her way of thinking, her future decisions- those will all undoubtedly center around these vows in the song.

    • @linniancauldwell948
      @linniancauldwell948 Pƙed 9 měsĂci +7

After writing this, I went back to see if the vows correlate to the flag displaying a character when it is said, and it definitely does. While the flag depicting Yuuri is displayed, the line is “T’is ordained, thou shall deliver unto those thou believest in”. For the record, the one relating to Riyone is “T’is ordained, thou shall follow thine destiny.” For Gozake, “T’is ordained, thou shall discard vulgarity.” And finally, Gachata is “T’is ordained, thou shall stay thine course, then perish.” So do with this what you will, readers.

I'm so glad you're actually considering that Amane might actually cause trouble for Shidou or other prisoners because most people I've seen talk about this say "she's just a child" or that if Shidou can't defend himself from a 12yo then that's his problem. Like??? Amane literally killed her own mother and tried to kill Es with scissors, she's not just some 12 year old. Usually people say to just forgive her without going into detail but I'm more convinced when someone tells me why they think amane should be voted guilty/innocent

Shidou can't provide medical help anymore, that's enough for him to not break 'Rule 1' of the cult.

There is no ring on her finger. So I suspected her dad ran away. but I wasn't aware of the notice on the door- so now I do agree that she was an unwanted child from a one night stand and he walked out but sends support or something like that.

  • @Eskun8998
    @Eskun8998 Pƙed 10 měsĂci +94

I really like the unwanted child theory! It really does tie up a lot of loose ends, as well as match up her distorted trial 2 line where she talks about her she’s waiting for her father to come back. However, if this theory was true, it would mean that someone else in the cult hurt the cat to test Amane since the mother only cares about the cult for financial gain. Maybe the other male adult in the MV was testing her since he somehow showed up to see what Amane was doing there. The mother could’ve killed the cat because she didn’t want Amane to bring in a pet to take care of since they don’t have a lot of money.
Also, I think it’s more likely that instead of a defense mechanism kicking in, Amane killed her mother since she “interferes with the cats destiny” therefore breaking a cult rule, which is why Amane punished her mother with all the different torture methods. It also adds up to why she’s still marching with the cult instead of against the cult, because it wouldn’t make sense for Amane to view herself as apart of the cult if she spontaneously killed her mother, who hadn’t broke any rules.
Also also nice catch figuring out Amane’s deal with the water guy! I never thought about all the clues and how he was pretty important in the story!
But anyways thanks for another banger video love ur theories!!!!!
edit: also wanted to add that voting Amane innocent might change something for her, since being voted innocent by the person she hates so much would be quite shocking. At the same time, she could also view it as us surrendering to her ideals, which would be really bad. I don’t see a happy ending for Amane in MILGRAM 😭

    • @lusees616
      @lusees616 Pƙed 10 měsĂci +13

to add on to u, she judged her mom for interfering with the cats destiny and killed her, we're doing the same we're judging her for interfering for her mother's destiny... but strangely she does not value our verdict? She doesn't view us as judging her for interfering with fate (probs cuz of es strongly saying they don't agree with her cult tho)
I think she might have if she was forgiven T1 and she thinks we thought the cult's rules were correct thus also judged her via the cult's rule (but that's TOO optimistic for milgram where every verdict seems to only make the characters spiral-)
I think she also rationalized the murder AS judgement in the name of the cult when she was in a clearly emotional state from all the abuse with the trigger of the cat, deep down she fought back but in her mind she sees it as all in the name of the cult.

6:33 It's basically pray for the victims for recovering health... without medical aid.
Unless they still have some common sense: Pray for the victims THEN medical aid.
But if the cult does have common sense: Pray for the victims while doing medical aid.
In both times she helped animals with medical aid, but was punished severely by both Shock Water Physically and Verbally.
I feel like the girl with the balloon must be a propaganda thing to spread the symbol into similarity, while the man must be the Father
Reasoning: How does he know where Amane's mother is? Why did he care so much was he a leader or a close friend?
If he was a total stranger that means this entire city is *sweared* up by the cult, not only that, but it's big enough to bribe the police into not having them be closed down and be granted immunity.

I have a hunch that the girl with the pink balloon is a sign that not only were the adults in the cult judging and pointing fingers at Amane for not following their rules but that she was also being bullied by the girls at her school for it. The pink balloon that the girl has has a symbol that belongs to the cult as it can be seen on the flags of the Amane march and apparently it is a combination of all the flags that represent the values of the cult. This could symbolize how all the children around Amane also had a lot of devotion to the cult and therefore, they agreed and even encouraged Amane's punishments just like the adults. The poor girl must have seriously been through hell.

tbh i think the reason why she's so passive aggresive with shidou is simply because it reminds her of her past self and how she was punished while he wasn't ,so it's possible she's just wants fairness or at least someone to care for her and to be honest even if shidou ends up being injured in the hands he can ask the other prisioners to do his job by commanding them there's also the fact that in mahiru birthday she and amane talk and the only thing she did to mahiru was talk to her in a agressive way probably because mahiru reminds her of the cat ,so the only ones Amane would want to injure ES because they are a little fucker with everyone and shidou because of how she views him and depending on how we vote kotoko we might see if anyone gets injured by a unstable amane or kotoko

Since Amane is my favorite character i was doing research and here are some of my stuff i wanted to add
We can see all of the punishments in the T2 MV. In the scene where she changes from umbrella to the baton as kidnapkin said we can see 1: a mark on her head like she was hit and 2: her eyes look like she wasn’t sleeping, and who is the robot? An alarm clock, the water punishment and electric punishments are obvious
But i would like to stop at water punishment.
When the water starts raining we can see her being scared, it might have been the Chinese water torture, this torture is when a person can’t move and a drop of water falls on their forehead with the same time intervals causing anxiety and other stuff. In the scene in the real world after the water punishment we can see something that looks like bleach, she might have used it to get rid off the body. The 2 people with the balloon might not even exist and the balloon was only to show that it was someone from the cult who said about the cat. In the end of T1 MV her eyes look tired and lifeless, she probably was forced to watch it and didn’t liked the cartoon herself. Also in the same MV after the robot hits her he immediately helps her stand up. That might mean that right after the punishment everything is back to normal and her parents didn’t cared about it and thought it was normal to tase her, almost drown her, beat her and not let her sleep. Also i saw that some clouds are not spheres but there is a heart, triangle, a star and some strange looking clouds in the start of the MV. And the last thing is that i’m very sad that i’m Russian and can’t see the voting stats and i just have to pray for my favorite character :(

To try and answer some of the unanswered questions:
Q1: There's no real way of telling imo. Personally, I think the mom is on the fence. She was faithful to it as she was to her husband, but with him gone all the time (and if, big if, we gander that he really is cheating on her and using the business meetings as an excuse that she probably knows about) she struggles with her faith. If the dad is cheating, it would make sense the Amane's mom would start to maybe enjoy punishing Amane as some sort of relief of burden, taking her stress out on Amane. This would also explain why Amane killed her mom, as eventually the mom would slip up since she doesn't really believe in the cult. On the flip side, her mom could be just as devoted to the cult and simply made a mistake (but, like, what kind of mistake did she make assuming she's been in the cult for at least 12 years? She had to of joined before Amane's birth and with the dad being a high member, they must've joined early on...). Because of the dramatic way Amane's mistakes have been dealt with, seeing her mom make a mistake (and probably brushing the mistake off since she's an adult) Amane snapped and punished her mother, taking out all of her pent up feelings about what her mother did to her. Also something to note, in cults it's often discouraged for parents to bond with their children as it may affect the child's bond with the leader, so there's that.
Q2: The rainbow is a very important symbol in my religion, Christianity, representing the promise of not flooding the world (you'd have to do some basic research to understand the story behind that). It also can stand as a symbol for the "calm after a storm", hope, and inclusivity. Using this information, I infer the reoccurring theme of rainbows has two meanings. The first is as a way to advertise to people that the cult is a welcoming and safe space, much like the private school and television show. The second is as a personal reminder to Amane- and probably other cult members- that even when you mess up you'll be better after punishment (so basically a symbol of hope). The only time the rainbow appears is specifically after Amane is punished (or technically during her punishment), when she gets caught by a cult member, and after she's perfected her beliefs, taking a step back into reality. The last two instances would represent her faith in the cult and hope that she's better now.
Q3: I noticed the design on the balloon is unfamiliar, but it does have red, blue, green, and orange which represents the cult's television show colors. It might just confirm that the two are members of the cult, or it might also be another symbol. Balloons are often associated with freedom, so I'd infer that it's more advertisement from the cult telling children that the cult will free them. The flower could be a symbol for love, or hope, but idk. I have a feeling the third trial will show us more on that.
    Q4: Fr man ;-;
Q5: I don't think they've been in another cult. I think what's more likely is that the cult is slowly introducing their beliefs onto children through the TV show, but the children still have their individuality and freedom (balloon?). As the child grows older, they become firmer in their teachings and take away that child's individuality. I think this would be affective as it allows the child to explore their curiosities when their young, then take that away so they don't feel like they are missing out or something later in life. (Idk about this one though, it's a pretty far leap).
    Q5: Yeah, I think so.
    Q6:
Q7: While it holds a good amount of possibility, I don't think there's anything that could confirm this. I certainly think it's a good idea though.
Q8: I'm actually surprised I never considered this! It would also make sense as one of the rule of the cult is "thou shalt discard vulgarity." Maybe the mom let it slip that Amane was a mistake and that's what Amane "punished" her for.

  • @LocoDS49
    @LocoDS49 Pƙed 10 měsĂci +4

In the VD we learn that Amane's cult follows 4 great principles and in the opening of the second trial we get to know what those are:
"'Tis Ordained, thou shall follow thine destiny" (Pink Mascot / Electrocution punishment)
"'Tis Ordained, thou shall discard vulgarity" (Blue Mascot / Drowning punishment)
"’Tis ordained, thou shall deliver unto those thou believest in" (Yellow Mascot / Physical punishment)
"’Tis ordained, thou shall stay thine course, then perish" (Green Mascot / Verbal Punishment)
This explains why she was electrocuted for saving the cat as administering medical aid counts as intervening with "destiny". I don't know what Amane did to warrant drowning as the official translation for the principle seems kind of out of place to something Amane would do as she seems like a very well-mannered kid in the first VD. But through looking at the kanji and with the help of bing I found this: "The phrase “äșșăŻć‘ă—ăă‚’æšăŠă‚ˆâ€ is a Japanese expression that means “People, cast away your baseness. Baseness means a lack of moral principles or values. It refers to ethical inferiority or dishonorable behaviors and attitudes, often associated with greed, selfishness, cowardice, or dishonesty. In the context of the phrase “People, cast away your baseness”, it implies that people should abandon their low or unworthy qualities and aspire to a higher or nobler standard of living." I thought it was interesting and makes you wonder what kind of kid Amane was in the earlier stages of indoctrination though I still find it out of character to what we saw with her and the cat.

I've noticed to things about how the prisoners' clothes changed in-between trials. (I swear this relates to Amane!)
"Spectrum theory" (or as I call it):
The innocents were allowed new clothes. (All innocent prisoners got new outfits while the guilty ones didn't.) Kotoko got a bat because she was very high on the guilty to innocent spectrum. She had better privileges then other innocents hence why she got better stuff.
The guity prisoners got more belts restricting them as punishement for being very low on the spectrum.
Now, Amane is getting a high innocent percentage. If her percentage stays this high she might be allowed to have a weapon/a tool to mess up Shidou's work. If this theory is correct, we might have to lower Amane's innocent percentage a bit or she might become dangerous.
Tldr: I think of the votes as a spectrum rather than a "one or the other" kind of vote.

Now that you mentioned it, your theory might be completely right!! 😼😼
Everyone forgiven in T1 got a 50-60% forgiven percentage. I guess between 50-60%, you are able to style your outfit, add accessories, and some little things more.
Kotoko was the only one above 60%, meaning she was allowed to receive a big item of her choice (in this case, it was her weapon/baton).
Now that everyone who is forgiven in T2 has a percentage above 70% (except for Mahiru), I wonder what kind of rights they receive? Will they also be allowed to have an item/weapon of their choice? What would they pick? Especially the ones who were not forgiven before.
I can imagine Fuuta picking an item to defend himself out of fear or an item that would comfort him (for example, in his Interrogation, he mentioned he misses his mother the most even though his parents are divorced and he hasn't seen her for a long time *sobs. So I guess what he needs currently the most is something that would comfort him). Mappi would also pick an item that would comfort her or something that would help the others instead herself since she is so selfless...

So i hv some theories from when the MV dropped and disscussed with a friend and some may be repeated here but i will try and instert my theories
    - Amane in cult, seen with bow in beginning
    - carries 4 flags of mascots, represents the "subjects" or "value" in cult
    - the person who abused Amane could be multiple or exact same
    - the ways of abused are seen in Magic of Watering down/ being showered down
    - Tazered after saving cat
    - Cat from Magic vanished after bandaged by Amane (died from cult leader)
    - End credits of Magic confirm cat died in Purge March
    - Girl with ballon seen with the 5th flag symbol
    - Symbol/Logo represented leader status
    - the kids are being trained to become future leaders
    - the white uniform is associated with Amane's pure intentions
    - Amane holds flag with 5th logo after having cat dying
    - Magic shows Amane transforming
    - Amane had a bow becoming a badge
    - Amane proclaimed oneself as a leader, not officially given a "balloon"
    - Kills abuser, no blood visible on uniform
    - Not tainted(?) Still pure
    - Umbrella is the murder weapon

I and my brother watched the voice drama together and we both agree that’s how our average conversations went😂
Now for my opinions and thoughts. For the theory, I do have some other perspectives that I want to talk about:
    -MV analysis:
+ The leader Amane is likely a image of the adults in her life, considering she tries to act like an adult, she would kind of lived up to them (probably not her mother though), hence why the leader could call the rains out to punish her
+ The one who spray water could be Amane’s father for 2 reasons:
    1) The fingers holding the things?? is much larger than her mother’s fingers and look like it’s from a men
    2) Though the mascots wouldn’t be a one person, Gozake look like a monk and teaches Amanes how to “sing” (probably the cult’s believes). So Gozake is an image of the people who make speech for the cult, and Amane’s father is one of them
    -Lyrics:
+ “The “it can’t be helped”, from the scum who can’t be helped - That makes them doubtlessly,
.. any doubt, GUILTY” (i’m sorry i don’t want to write all of that in here) is a message to us who vote her guilty who thought we could change her.
+“If you become a bad girl” ->=not pleasing your parents - who decides whether you are a good or a bad child.
“monsters will appear” ->=bad things will happen to you
=> Amane's parents are quite harsh, ready to punish their daughter for the smallest things they see in front of them. They want Amane to be a perfect role model for both of them
"Here's the magic to stop it from happening"
What Amane does is help the cat's wounds heal faster, helping it hide its imperfections and "damage".
=> For Amane, only when her parents consider her naughty will she be punished, so as long as she hides the conditions her parents call her naughty, she will be safe-> this is Amane's way of resisting with my father's unreasonable demands and expectations (and possibly the cult)
For the trolly problem, I think it’s an interesting way to change the verdict from the team member but it’s fine to forgive her, I don’t really think she would try to kill the injured people by sabotaging the supply so most people would be alive by trial 3
For the questions, here is what I could think of:
-Q2: It’s the influence of the cult on those in that one scene (The punisher, her dad?; the businessman and his daughter; Amane after that cat was gone)
-Q3: It would more likely be an advertisement for the cult since the balloon is red, the color that is prove to be more appealing to the human eye
-Q5: It could that the cult have changed their logo for a few times by now?
-Q8: Very likely, in minigram, Amane did mention that her mother had her when she was at Mahiru’s age, which is 22. Usually this is the last university year or the first year after she got out of school, which is not really the time to have kids, but rather to work and enjoy life mostly, even if she had the financial background to do so.
That’s it. Sorry in advance if there are any mistakes in informations or grammar that I didn’t fixed.
    Hope to see more theories!

OKAY LISTEN UP, I realized something on the question 7 you asked "Is Amane's Dad cheating on her mom?" Amane mentioned before in Minigram that her mother gave birth to Amane at a young age like around Mahiru's age. This might have something to do why Amane's father has always been absent, it's probably because he made that mistake which might be breaking a rule of the cult or something and he's trying to make himself a better person OR casually trying to repent and clean himself by going somewhere and do cult shit and left Amane's mother. Amane's mother might have been aware of that and now she's gone mad crazy and is now using her anger or "cult beliefs" on Amane in an obviously wrong way which also signifies that she's an "unwanted child" like you said. That's just a possibility I can be wrong with this one I'm not good at theories and instead I'm making an oc's backstory now. Great video as always! I think I can somewhat answer some of your questions:
Q2: What is the meaning of the rainbow?
Rainbows form when there is both sun and rain. In the real world there is only rain while in Amane's mind there is only sun, but in both worlds there's a rainbow. I think this shows the connection between the two worlds.
Q3: Why is the girl holding a balloon?
The logo on the girl's balloon is the same as the logo on Amane's flags after she is completely brainwashed, so my guess is that it means that she is considered a "good girl" by the cult. As a good girl it would make sense for her to snitch on Amane.
The rest of the questions are really good theories about Amane's mother and her relationship with her husband but I don't think we have enough information on the subject.
I have a question on my own, did Amane's mother betray the cult and the cult forced Amane to kill her, or did Amane decide to kill her by herself?
Amane says that her murder was an obligation for the cult, but the cult should need some serious reasons to want the wife of an important member dead. It also makes sense if Amane hated her mother so much that she decided that her mother betrayed the cult and killed her for the cult because it would be easier to deal with it if she felt like she was forced to.

    • @kindnapkin
      @kindnapkin  Pƙed 10 měsĂci +1

Thanks for answering the questions!! ^^ I like your interpretation of Q3 a lot!
I think Amane betrayed the cult because, you're right, something must have gone wrong if the cult wants the wife of an important member dead.
Amane called this natural obligation of the cult because she "followed the rules" of the cult since her mother also broke a rule igđŸ€”
So the rules of the cult ""forced"" her in her mind to kill her own mother

Would she be able to ignore the voices from an innocent verdict? Who knows? What concerns me more is what KIND of voices she would be hearing in either cases. The reasons with which we vote are what affects her, not the vote itself.
Personally I'm going for forgiveness because I don't believe punishment should be considered a teaching tool, and think it is horrific to apply to a victim of cult abuse who already sees her abuse previously as punishment. and wrt the trolley problem it's like... restraining Amane doesn't guarantee she can't hurt anyone either if we're seeing her as resourceful and ruthless enough to cause that kind of damage. if she is capable she would be able to do so even if restrained, and especially as judgment would further provoke and reaffirm her fury. And also I don't want to sacrifice a traumatized child for a trolley problem that was created by the audience's own bad decisions in the first place.

I personally think that the her trying to stab Es shows how she is ready to kill Shidou or anyone who doesn't act according to her religion if given then chance. I think people don't think about it enough, she wasn't just trying to hurt him, she was literaly trying to kill Es for saying she was wrong.
If we forgive it will give her the message that we finally support her ideals and agree in her being the incarnation of her cults believes.
I am pretty sure that if given the freedom to do so she will kill Shidou unless Kazui interfere.

I think it is sure that Shidou will have to interfere to save someone. Haruka will try to kill himself and either he achieves it or it fails and medical intervention is needed .I think the later is more likely because it feels more fair to the audience (fairness is the same reason I think that if a character makes a threat, it will do so unless stopped). I think that if Amane is forgiven Haruka will die and maybe Shidou too. I know these aren't some of the most popular character but I would feel bad if they died for this and we could not get a third song.

Sometimes, I wonder if they actually are restrained?
I know they don't have as much freedom as the others have, but even though Amane was restrained she was allowed to go to the storage room by herself (I assume) and take a pair of scissors without anyone not even Jackalope noticing... I expected that the not forgiven ones would be more watched by the system behind Milgram.
It's possible that Haruka could do the same. I mean, as in sneakily, taking a weapon and using it during the interrogation (voice drama) in front of Es. He would definitely be stopped by Es, but if I'm not sure if Es is strong enough.
That's when probably Kotoko would jump in, just like she did in Mikoto's Voice Drama. She also watched everyone in T1 and kind of knew what's going on inside their head just based on their behaviour and all..
Idk where I'm leading with this kinda sounds like I'm planning to forgive Kotoko because, like Kazui, she can also defend the others so that Es is able to give them a proper judgement (even though she wants to also punish them)

Personally i believe the rainbow is suppose to be a symbol for their god or whatever figure their cult is suppose to worship and congregate around. The four mascots and swirling balloon/flag logo being extremely visually colorful and the rainbow always seemingly present could possibly be an allusion to the sentiment that god is always watching from the sky.
Gozake being the most important of the four mascots who brings the punishment of rain and drowning would even help build up this idea, as a rainbow always appears after it rains, possibly being gods forgiveness after enduring Gozakes punishment

I think there is a possible solution for this dilemma that could work. If we did go the guilty route for Amane, it would still end up with her getting more stressed mentally. However, it would keep the other prisoners like Shidou safe. However if we vote her innocent, then she has the chance to hurt Shidou while he is treating all of the injured prisoners. What if we decide to look at the bigger picture? I mean all of the violence was done by Kotoko after all. To be honest, it is only one of the possibilities that I have thought of so there are probably more that I haven't considered or discovered yet. I think things might play out for the better if we just vote Kotoko guilty. However, that is not to say that she should be judged unfairly. A lot has to be taken in account while voting so that is including present actions as well. Even if Kotoko had relatively good values in her first trial mv, her present actions would say otherwise. Like Kotoko does realize that she is also a prisoner who committed murder, right? It still gives her no right to attack the prisoners who were not forgiven for their crimes. Well to be honest this does a few things and will possibly create another trolley problem down the line. If we vote Kotoko guilty perhaps she wouldn't attack anyone anymore. However, there is the potential for the other prisoners to attack her as like a sort of payback or just a precaution if she tries this again. However while I don't think that is too likely to happen, it's still a possibility because of Fuuta mostly recovering and possibly taking his revenge on her. Well if we vote her innocent, welp Rip Haruka and Mu. Here is why I brought this up, if we stop the source of the violence then maybe there will be fewer people getting injured. I said fewer because we still got the possibility for Amane to attack Shidou. For now I would say to keep her restrained until Fuuta and Mahiru mostly recovered. There, Shidou wouldn't be healing them anymore or ig for most of the time and Amane would have the values of the her religion satisfied as Shidou isn't taking away the "trials" anymore. However, I know that this is gonna lead to more stress on Amane. After all, she did try to attack Es with scissors in the voice drama because of her current mental state. So there is a reason to vote her innocent as well to prevent it from getting worse. And if all else fails, hopefully the prisoners are smart enough to just use Es as a meat shield since they are essentially like a safe zone as Amane is unable to attack them. To be honest, both possibilities are likely to happen. However which ever verdict happens to Amane, there are possible solutions for the prisoners to use there such as using Es if we went the innocent route or if we just voted both Amane and Kotoko guilty as well to make sure that Fuuta and Mahiru mostly recover. Overall, I would vote Amane guilty in this scenario just to buy more time for Fuuta and Mahiru to recover and for Shidou to ig not heal them later down the line. You are free to disagree with me but that is my take on it ig. I only chose to vote Amane guilty because it gives us voters more control over the situation I think.

Forgiveness grants the prisoners freedom, after all. Weren't two people assaulted and almost killed BECAUSE we forgave the person who ended up assaulting them?

I decided to vote her guilty because I feel there is less risk, and although I feel I am being too harsh on the character, it is better that she is physically limited (although that also worries me because we don't know what they are going to do to the guilty prisoners in the second trial) so that she doesn't hurt Shidou or worsen his beliefs. To be honest, any decision we make in her trial will not help Amane, which is why I prefer to vote her guilty to prevent her from causing problems.

I might be able to provide a little bit of the context for the rainbow but im not sure if it helps at all:
In the bible, there was a story about Noah's Ark that Im sure most of you know. For those of you who don't, basically, God flooded the whole world to get rid of all the wickedness, sparing a certain man named Noah, along with his family by letting them build an ark to help survive the flood. After the floodwaters receded, God made a rainbow in the sky for Noah as a promise that he would never do such a thing like that again. In short, the rainbow may represent promises and vows.
Personally, I don't know for sure who's vows these rainbows represent, though I do heavily believe that the first rainbow we see is a "vow" from Amane's punisher(whether that be Amane's mother or not) that they would never do that again, only for them to obviously keep on doing it. For the third and final rainbow we see in the MV, maybe that was Amane herself making the vow of never seeing people like her mother in an innocent light ever again and resolving that unforgivable people should be punished. However, my brain hurts so someone else can figure out what the second rainbow represents cuz idk
Either that or Amane is just a closeted gay/hj
Extra: Now that I said it, I can totally see the parallels with the first part of the MV and the story of Noah's Ark, so now I'm DEFINITELY on board with my theory all the way
Edit: Just realized that there were actually technically FOUR rainbows instead of three (1st was after Amane was drowned, 2nd was above the mysterious man holding a suitcase as Amane helps the cat, 3rd was during the "white "space" scene with all the mascots behind Amane, 4th was the very last rainbow we see as Amane walks with her umbrella) To that, I argue that the 3rd and 4tg rainbow literally mean the same thing

Ok from my original theory i knew putting her innocent will likely *gain* us something that why i mention many to other comment either any other way is just 50/50 the possibility is low but we can tell by many different things. Q1 She could be one of them to be honest since in the previous MV the 4 punish Amane with four different kind of it some were even electro stock, some even a flow of water drop down and others not to mention the color of the frag we saw also represent the rules of the cult in the lyrics... Q2 Rainbow is unknown for now, Q3 for the girl with the balloon i expect it to be another one member since she also have the same balloon, the sticker could be also mean the same thing. Q4 we don’t know how much the author like abusing the animal but i could tell is really exciting.... Q5 there was many objections to be honest Amane said her father still on a long journey and i suspect that the man who was holding the girl with the balloon is the cult leader. Q6 When you are a cult member you have to hide yourself no matter what individual is it. Q7 We don’t know i also said that which is in possibility as for mother hitting her out of anger can be many meaning, for her father same above. Q8 Yes is could be true cult aim for cheap people and manipulative them to join their cult, they’re highly dangerous and very clever as the same time most of cults was found but some were unknown just like the dark websites.... As i said the father is mysterious and the cult is also mysterious i mean we know 4 basic rules in the MV 2 trial but we don’t know what their *purpose* is that is what i mean....
Edit: I just realize something what if the *Rainbow* wasn’t meant for something but they represent the *color* i said from above???

I liked most of the analysis as you've pointed out very similar things I've been constantly telling people about.... except your conclusion. I strongly disagree with the forgiven veredict helping Amane. If anything, that will only reassure her that, indeed, she was right all along. Her 1st MV didn't even acknowledge her murder, but only showed the thing with her healing the cat as her "only misdeed". If you forgive her, isn't that the same as saying "yes, killing those who go against the cult's rules is okay".
    Amane and the voices:
Moreover, as much as she says she's been ignoring the voices, I do think she's come to be in this state of mental anguish -because- of them. Think about it: Kotoko didn't beat her up and she hasn't been given any other type of punishment beyond the "restrains" (or so it seems). So why has she been pushed to THIS level of psychological instability? Because the voices (all our comments, debates, theories) have all basically come to the agreement that the cult's mentality is wrong and despicable, and that she's just a "poor innocent CHILD who's become nothing but a brainwashed victim" - I believe that all of these ideas + the intense defense mechanism (of relying on the cult's merciless punishings and teachings) have, indeed, driven her to become intensely fed up with MILGRAM.
    We "rained on Amane's parade":
I also do wonder what could be the chances that, perhaps the "Amane" that brings down her baton in "punishment" after Amane drops the flag...is actually a representation of Es bringing down "punishment" upon her with the guilty veredict. After all, during her first interrogation, she mentioned MILGRAM possibly being a great opportunity to start a new kind of world under the cult's teachings and that she hoped Es to see things just like her (thus, she presents to him the most "magical" picture of how "wonderful" the cult is). Amane's excitement over this possibility is, however, completely ruined with Es declaring her UNFORGIVEN (guilty) which is, quite literally, him "raining on his parade" and ruining her plans. What's more, being told that she was in the wrong and "guilty" most certainly triggered her to remember all the other times she had been punished for being "wrong" and thus we get a deeper dive into her mind.
... Someone's also suggested Amane wants to start her own cult, and I'm afraid to say I can kinda see that too (? maybe? I'm very eager to discuss more theories though!

  • @atharkhaizuran9195
    @atharkhaizuran9195 Pƙed 7 měsĂci +2

    I have just realized something
The cult just don't like medical facilities and medication
*In Amane's first MV*, we see that every mascot govern a rule of some sort. Gachata governs diligence, Yuri governs compassion, Gozake governs kindness, but we didn't get to see Riyone's attributes because we were interrupted by the injured cat. When Amane gave medical attention to the cat, she did it in secret and when the mascots find out, they torture and punish her, starting with Riyone's electrocution. We all know the punishments all have a mascot attributed to them.
*In the second MV*, we see Amane helping an injured cat (a nod back to the first MV) and got snitched by other cult members. When she gets home, her mother was already waiting with a taser in her hands. The screenshot of the father's chat hanged on the door also states that cult members should respect medical facilities even if their teaching forbids them from going there. We also sees that none of Amane's injuries were patched up when she went to see the now dead cat.
*In the interrogation flashcards* we see that Amane saw any form of difficulty in her way (e.g prison, physical injury, etc.) as a trial by God. She also sees Shodou as an interference to the trial as he is a doctor.
*The voice drama* also shows Amane trying to hurt Shidou.
So we can see that basically, the cult is just Buddhism (with its self-denial philosophy) with an added bonus of torture and pain. Any kind of injury the cult members receive is *never* going to get any form of medical attention.

This vote actually terrifies me because on one hand I can see why people really want to forgive Amane and hope she changes for the better but on the other hand this vote screams this is the Kotoko vote of trial 2. What I mean by that is if there is an innocent vote I think people will regret after trial 2 it would most likely be this one. Also one other thing about the VD that you didn't mention in the video and I think a lot of others might not have caught because it was very subtle, Amane says "Are the prisoners who weren't forgiven feeling lost right now? Maybe they will need our faith as well." This makes me believe Amane if voted innocent will attempt to recruit Haruka and Muu into her cult and well I could definitely see both accepting especially Haruka. I think an innocent vote here has the potential to do way more damage than most people think.

Wait, what are your opinions on the growing relationship of amane and fuuta based on how he is speaking currently in the timeline conversation, could this be beneficial for both of them

    • @kindnapkin
      @kindnapkin  Pƙed 3 měsĂci +1

I actually didn't expect this combination, but I'm excited about what's going to happen!! I really love them both and hc them as found family/siblings (+ Es)đŸ„čđŸ«¶
Not sure if it's beneficial for both of them :'D All I'm able to tell by now is that Amane is trying to help Fuuta by all good means. She is not using him as a pawn. She's aware that he's in pain and uses her religion to save him just like it ""saved"" her.
Fuuta is really easily influenced by people/peer pressure, etc. So when he was in complete despair I guess only Amane was there to help him mentally (while Shidou was busy helping him and Mappi physically and everyone else had their own problems.) He really needed someone to rely on, someone who accepts him (Just like he said in the timeline Q_Q). Also based on the timelines after T1 he only talked to the other guilty/not forgiven prisoners?? Have to look that up again...
I might do a whole video about them and the others in T3. I wish I had more time!!!đŸ„Č But here are the things that I have in mind and that would be in the video =
      *Things I do worry about:*
      1. Fuuta might refuse Shidou's medical help if he follows ALL the rules of Amane's religion. So far, Fuuta only mentioned that the help of medical help isn't *enough* to Mappi (I don't remember what exactly he said to her and I can't find the TL anymore😔)
      2. Fuuta and Amane could stop Shidou from helping anyone else get medical treatment.
      3. Might even hurt Shidou if they work together.
      "Kazui will save Shidou before that's going to happen." Now I'm not sure if Kazui is able to keep an eye on everything. We have;
      - Haruka very likely going to commit sui-de,
      - Muu and Kotoko getting hurt (Kotoko is not safe anymore, I even think Amane and Fuuta are going to take revenge and you know the phrase... *"An Eye for an Eye"*. And Muu might only get hurt mentally because of Milgram's Punishment System but Muu was also sui-dal in After Pain, according to the lyrics, so...),
      - Shidou AND Yuno also getting possibly hurt (Shidou is obvious why but Yuno getting hurt is because she also started helping Shidou in taking medical care of Mappi)
Also who would expect Fuuta, the guy who got quieter and less aggressive after T1, helping Amane hurt the person (Shidou) who is helping everyone. That's like a good twist for the prisoners and something Kazui would not expect. (Surprise Attack)
And there is probably more. I think I forgot about Mikoto. Something is definitely going to happen to John and not sure how Mikoto will handle that.. OR MIDOKOTO GOING TO BE CANON OMG
I'm not sure if Kazui is able to handle it all and we don't know what he is going through mentally. Imagine if the gay theory is not true and Kazui being disappointed in Milgram and Es AGAIN
      4. Mahiru might join Fuuta and Amane because Fuuta seems like he really wants to help her as well and Amane likes Mappi. Not sure what's going to happen if Mappi refuses but Shidou will definitely stop them and we know what will happen..
Whether it's actually something to worry about, I'm not sure. It's just that Fuuta and Mappi really need the medical treatment and refusing it will make the injury worse.
I already feel bad for Es. IMAGINE WAKING UP TO THIS CHAOS LIKE I WOULD UNDERSTAND THEM IF THEY ARE GOING BACK TO SLEEP. AND I THINK T3 IS GOING TO BE WORSE THAN WHAT I IMAGINED 💀💀 I can't handle this :'DDD
Ahh the comment got rlly long!! I hope I was able to explain everything as understandable as possible!! I would really love to make a video about this but you know it would take me forever to finish a video :'D I will probably just like copy paste this comment, add more stuff ofc and turn it into a video haha.
      But only after I finished the theories of the other prisoners ^^;;;
What's your opinion?? Do you think it will end up just like this or is there more?

@@kindnapkin to be honest, I don't know, oh but you can look for the timeline convo in the milgram wiki, fuuta said he's grateful for shidou for the help, so maybe he might be some sort of connection between shidou and amane, amane might worry more about taking care of fuuta to focus on shidou due to how mentally damaged he was by his verdict, I know jackalope said that prisoners are free to due whatever during es sleeping, but I doubt deco and everyone would be cruel to just kill someone off, so I'm on the fence about haruka, as for mahiru, she is also grateful for shidou, so even if they try, mahiru might become the voice of reason for them, and considering her innocent verdict, she might look better in t3, this is a theory of fuuta and amane has been on the back of my head for 2 months, so all we can do is hope that when we wake up again, things will be more peaceful, not relaxed, but just less stressful between everyone. But hey as the man once said, that's just a theory, a milgram theory.

(This is a collection of evidence on why Amane's mother was the one she killed pulled out of the interrogation flashcards from the MILGRAM wiki)
    *Season 1*
Q.2 = She holds her father in high esteem. She states that her father's long journey is very honourable
Q.4 = She sees herself as an exemplary daughter (meaning that she is brainwashed)
Q.8 = Both ethics and emotions are trivial to her, meaning that she only follow the cult's orders
Q.13 = She wants to meet her father and praise her for working hard
Q.18 = She didn't regret her murder and saw it as a natural obligation
Q.20 = She only saw her imprisonment as a trial by God
    *Season 2*
Q.2 = She deeply believes that she were loved (another brainwashed answer)
Q.3 = She states that there are no victims, only those who were served punishment
Q.4 = She conformed herself to her parent's wish in naming her
Q.10 = She is very proud of her father working hard and becoming a lecturer
Q.11 = She loves the person she killed (a reference to Q.3 of S2)
Q.17 = She killed her victim only in accordance to what she has been taught. She also thought that the people she respects will praise her and tell her she did good
Q.19 = She states that her mother should have kept her faith to the very end (this the proof inside the pudding that her mother did something viewed as a sin by the cult, so Amane punishes her mother and accidentally killed her)
*Additional info* = Amane barely mentions her mother in her interrogation, meaning that she didn't have much fond memories with her mother as much as with her father
