It is so unfair to DQ the Philadelphia NIMBYs because their cab drove into the river
Did it drive in or was it pushed?
Yeah miles they should not have been DQ
If you consider the ferry a "water taxi" instead, then does that count as traveling by taxi? 🤣
@@lewnwdc that’s true if you think of it that way
@@MBTAFAN879 Well they finished last place, so doesn't matter 🤣
The Philadelphia NIMBYs may have been Dairy-Queened (and understandably so), but they certainly won me over.
I do appreciate that the fella whomst has a podcast with merch that says "train good, car bad" on it absolutely refused to get in a car at all costs
Based guy with a podcast with slides on it who uses the pronouns he and him and is the person talking right now ok go!
the "can I get a large regular iced coffee" bit (25:02) sent me into orbit for a solid few minutes. Pure comedic genius.
Standard dunks order in Bawston
The Philadelphia NIMBYs are the lovable underdogs. Those guys are so cool. And with that said, I have one question: Who filmed them entering the Family Dollar at Rockaway Beach? They obviously didn’t film themselves cheating. It couldn’t have been Ullia.
This was a fun race. I’m hoping that the next race is New York to DC.
I was the one who filmed them! Marc, Blair, and I were waiting for the ferry shuttle at the bus stop across the street from the Family Dollar, and when I saw them I just thought 'huh, I should film this'.
I'm so confused about how that shot came to be, but it was a VERY good shot to have! 😆
Hoyt-Schermerhorn, what a name for a station! Schermerhorn Street was named after Dutch brothers Abraham and Peter Schermerhorn. Their father was a commander and owner of shipping vessels trading between NYC and Charleston. During the American Revolution, they lived in Hyde Park to protect their vessels. After the war ended, the family returned to NYC, and the two brothers were admitted to their father's ship-chandlery firm. In 1795, Peter owned a massive rope factory, called a "ropewalk." The "ropewalk" was needed to stretch the rope a long distance, and the path on which it was stretched eventually became Schermerhorn Street.
"Hey guys, I changed my mind" that was incredible...thank you random New Yorker for that life-changing quote. But seriously, Jordan really did deserve second place, that was a valiant effort! And you, Alex, and Jackson are honorary Long Islanders for that Billy Joel acapella, but that We Like to Party acapella gave me....Mr. Six flashbacks.
Oh wow, that Schermerhorn Street history is one of my favorites you've put in these comment sections!
Loved your comment, Avery, about what nearly happened to Miles’ team when they were in Fulton Center by asking during the live chat the very pressing question: WHERE IN URBAN TRANSIT IS JACKSON SANDIEGO?
It's also the station worldoftshirts posts from every day. Ahoyt!
Avery's comments are always awesome 😁
I am far too old to be watching these shenanigans (WTF algorithm, but I'm not mad), but what keeps reeling me back in is that y'all remind me of me and my tribe. We can find in humor in the most mundane things and laugh for hours or days or years as it becomes lore. Keep up the great work. I always end up with a smile on my face after all of your videos. #teamPHILLYNIMBYS and #teamprofessionals
Thank you very much!
I can't wait to see how this script ends!
Miles is not in charge of the boat.
Jordan plowed through that train station like a runaway beer truck! I lay respect on his name because we are not worthy.
ACKNOWLEDGE THE KING
(seriously though, that was a valiant effort)
Keep up the great work the the Great Race series. A lot of fun. Looking forward to the next one and whatever else this channel has in store. Also, I bet the taxi team could have possibly won if they actually took the taxi.
Thank you! Given that rush hour was over, the taxi team DEFINITELY would've won if they actually took the taxi...
@@MilesinTransit and if the taxi took Woodhaven.
But at what cost?
I love the sunglasses disguise because it implies that they aren’t the most distinctive and recognizable group of people for the other teams to see.
For how big Hoyt-Schermerhorn is, the outer tracks were originally for local service to Court Street, but that service wasn't inaugurated and became a shuttle. Court Street closed in 1946 and became the NYTM in the 1970s.
The sculpture at the park across from the UN is called Peace Form One! It was created by sculptor Daniel LaRue Johnson to honor Ralph Bunche. For a lifetime of extraordinary diplomacy, Bunche received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1950, the first person of African descent to be awarded a Nobel Prize. In 1963, JFK awarded Bunche the US Medal of Freedom. As a UN mediator, secretary for special political affairs, and supervisor of peace-keeping missions in the Middle East and elsewhere, he played a key role in brokering UN sponsored peace agreements from 1949 to 1970. Bunche passed in 1971, and the sculpture was dedicated in 1980.
When y'all were chanting Jordan outside of UN HQ did they think you were some very enthusiastic enjoyers of the Heshimite Kingdom?
A fun and awesome season as always! Can't wait for the next adventure!
The Philadelphia Nimbys are my new favorite team!
These races bring me so much joy, I really can’t quite describe how much I enjoy all of you having fun together. You are very fortunate to have such wonderful friends, but I would imagine you already realize that. Thank you, all!!!!
Thank you!
I LIRRve these series.
The Miles in Transit Bus is coming.... an INtercity Disco!!!
Can't wait for the next Great Race to ...

@@TransitKing925 That's what Jesus said.
I Absolutely Love These Races And You And All The Racers. I Think At 65 You Are Turning Me Into A Transit Geek Here In Southern California🌴 I Hope The Next Race Is Coming Soon With A Little Snow???
5919 is the Alex Davis Car!!!
"I pray to Alex Davis Alex Davis prays to me if Alex prays to me then I will have my empathy." Gotta keep an eye out for that one 👀and I also have a new place to visit, the starting point of this race!
Another series of Mayhem by Miles in Transit. Got to love the teams, the personalities involved, the shenanigans, treachery and goofiness of these competitions. It is very entertaining, it is good to see young adults having non-damaging fun. Can't wait for the next one.
Thank you!
Absolutely brutal denial of that cross-platform transfer to the 4. That's rough stuff.
I'm just happy there were no casualties at B'way Junction lmao
Can't wait to hear more about the big plans for a future installment of this series!
Have now honestly to acknowledge the Ridiculous King. At least he did not manage to cheat himself out of a real taxi onto the (for the way back even proven) slowest mode of transport. What an achievement...
Next great race from Baltimore to Richmond AKA the great DMV race ! 🤣🤣 let throw a twist using only local transit etc bus or train !
lmao "Miles is not in charge of the boat"
I give it you and jackson always having fun and singing. Thats awesome guys!!!
incredible. trickery, disguises, and the lurr
another excellent series in the books! thank you for this top tier entertainment. my personal fav transport in nyc is the ferry strictly for the views and since the only time i go to nyc is for mini vacations i dont really need to worry about time. i think only true way to officially end this is have the jam perform going underground with the actual jam, maybe in london on the tube.
Thank you!
@@MilesinTransit can't wait to see the next adventure!
Really enjoyed the series, Miles. Was great to see places in my hometown pass by on the various modes of transit, including the spot where the hospital I was born in used to be. Sad I missed the last two live chats, but hope everyone had fun watching. Hopefully, there will be more ferry content in the near future. :)
I've heard the ferry people loud and clear, there will definitely be more ferry content in the pipeline!
@@MilesinTransit Great to hear! Looking forward to it.
Love this series. Can't wait for the next one!
Thank you!
@@MilesinTransit thank you for making such great content!
Shout out to the guy/gal who did the graphics for this series. I love the boxes showing the different teams moving around the city vis-a-vis the competition. Must have taken a ton of work.
You’re blessed to have a good group of friends. I had friends at my apartment last week people I met in different times in my life of different backgrounds some Jewish some not, and I’m blessed to have good friends. Something I should never take for granted.
Guys, what a great adventure! Thanks for the awesome video. All I will say, is the bus guys should have taken the Q53 all the way to Woodside and gotten the Q32 to Manhattan, the 32 is surprisingly fast. Q60 is a straight doom route! Keep up the great work Miles!
And mad respect to big man Jordan racing his butt off through Broadway Junction. At 16, I don't think I could have mustered that effort through that nightmare transfer! 😂
And last thing a suggestion for a follow up... Whitestone Bridge, Queens side to Coney Island.
Didn't see that plot twist with the NIMBYs coming. Kudos to the scriptwriters!
Thanks for the video!
Thank you!
I love this series
Just want to say this is great content #JetLagOnABudget !
Thank you!
Glad to see hometown JZ win first leg. Miles can't hide his uber competitiveness, must have been a terror in Little League. Phil NIMBY had me from the getgo when fat and sweaty "I liked the League of Nations better" The song in Ep 3 💯👏
With the current reconstruction of the 63rd street tunnel, the E and the F run down the 53rd street tunnel, but the F then goes its normal way after 5th Avenue. Until “First Quarter 2024” another option is grabbing the F at 53rd-Lex, going to Jay Street and then grabbing the A to Far Rockaway (or if you’re lucky a Beach 116th Street A train.)
Fun fact: the distance from Howard Beach to Broad Channel is the longest between stops in the entire system, at about 3.5 miles (5.6km).
"Oh the foamers are desecrating us right now" indeed we are Miles, indeed we are 😂 ❤
Rocz is the kind of energy I needed in these videos. He's a perfect counter to Miles' overenthusiasm. I hope the two of them collab more often.
You've seen the North Philadelphia video on this channel, right?
@@MilesinTransit Yes absolutely! Your least used station videos are some of my favorites
@@tarasaurus98 Thank you! Sorry for plugging, I just know that's the quintessential Rocz appearance on here ;)
This is awesome I love these race series great job
Thank you!!
Jackson should race the Tribal King across the country on Amtrak
Great to see another great race, this time within the greatest public transit city in the U.S. Does anyone know where that railroad themed bar is in the last shot?
Tracks Penn Station Bar. Used to be inside of Penn but now its across the street on 31st.
This series was worth it just for the jokes and banter of old man Rocz. In fact I believe it was a huge production just for the joke when you introduced Justin in the first Episode.
Come for a ride on the "lirr" and stay for Nathan's Dunkin order.
I am calling it the "lur" now.
Where I live in Queens the most direct route is a bus from Woodside
The LRRR is the train you take to get to planet Omicron Persei 8
28:39 - Black Waluigi should be part of the next NYC race !
Funny and well done.
Thanks!
I loved the winning and singing omg
honestly i always root for jordan!! love this series!! so fun and funny
Thank you!
what an amazing ending to a fantastic series! As always, it was really well edited and everyone was hilarious. I thought the maps and tracking functions were especially helpful, so thanks to bsquiklehausen too.
*edit: I did not acknowledge the incredibly buff and brainy tribal king in this comment, so I will understand a reasonable punishment for my actions. I ask for forgiveness please Jordan, the tribal king is now acknowledged.
Thank you!
Hoyt-Schermerhorn is where they filmed the video for Bad by Michael Jackson, and the abandoned/retired platform was in The Warriors. Need you guys to come back and do a cappella Bad ASAP plz
That was me that said what’s up to u today in back bay next to the Yankee bus lol
I need more philosophical conversations from the Philadelphia NIMBY'S also as a brooklynite Jordan catching that L train needs kudos cause Broadway Junction is tedious.
Here's hoping Stormy Kara and their friends appear in the next race
32:50 nice succinct modal recap! also, whether it's from everyone's location data or the timetables, great GIS work putting together the teams' progress trackers!
Was wondering whether it would've been against their rules for the LIRR team to take Line A up to Howard Beach, transfer twice via AirTrain JFK to Jamaica, and only then catch any Manhattan-bound LIRR train (and the reverse during the daytime)?
The LIRR team had to be on LIRR from Far Rockaway to at least Jamaica!
Now you have to plan on making it really close between Jordan and another team at the next script meeting
Great race. Wonder where the next one will occur! JORDEEEEEEEEEE CAAAAAAAAAAKESSSSSSS FTW haha
Thanks so much for the donation!

I still can't decide if I prefer Justin or Jordan as spirit animal.
OBVIOUSLY...THE TRIBAL KING WOULD MAKE A GREAT SPIRIT ANIMAL...-TK
@@TransitKing925The King always wins!
♥️ Water Taxi
Since the NIMBYs DQed, they should design and host the next race.
water taxi is still a taxi always bring your passport and a disguise even when moving within your home
The Graphics are awesome
All credit to Bsquiklehausen!
Start the movement to call the Long Island Rail Road the LIRRRRRRR
Following the routes on Google Maps. I've never taken busses in NYC, but I assume the Q-M-B letters on the busses are for Queens, Manhattan, and Brooklyn. And Busses that have QM means it services both burroughs?
Yup! If there are two letters, it's an express bus between two boroughs.
25:28 the fact that he did a New York accent on every word except cawfee is very amusing to me
It's a Boston accent!
Give me a Friday off, we gonna see shenanigans.
Jordycakes was DETERMINED! That 2nd place was well earned.
Absolutely!
You should put the animation of the teams on the map without the leaderboard in front of it. Fun video
Frankly, i'm never watching this series again if there is no one DQ'd for making their own way. I expect it. "Miles is not in charge of the boat."
THIS MF SAID LRR (FROM THE PLANET OMICRON PERSEI 8)
here for off season of jet lag... ehem
Miles I have a question, if you ever wonder, “What if I want to participate in a transit race”, how would we get into the race and what are the qualifications of joining it
All it takes to organize your own is some like-minded opponents and fare money.
We have a big enough friend network at this point that we're only inviting people we know personally for these, but I appreciate the enthusiasm!
jordan is the greatest he came in first congratulations jordan
Although on second thought, he gives everyone a lot of crap so I guess if you can dish it out you have to take it too lol.
I was gonna say, WE'RE being the jerks??
@@MilesinTransitI spoke prematurely. Then when wanted to be coronated as HM the king, I changed my mind
I would certainly argue the carbon savings of electric transit in NYC post-Indian Point and even more post-Vermont Yankee closure. The northeast willingly gave up carbon-free for cheap fracked natural gas power in the 2010s, then immediately regretted it post-Ukraine invasion. I have a lot angrier language toward those decisions.
ROFL "The Minimum of Chaos, I can cause"
Team "LRRR" 💯
How does Uillia always get to the final destination faster than everyone else, especially since cab was an option this race?
teleportation
She leaves before the release!
watching miles get lost in foulton st really makes me feel better about the time i got lost trying to get to the J train there
Okay... wait... how did the judge get from finish line to finish line?
She left well before anyone else and took the subway!
I totally understand Rocz’s untamed maverick spirit but like I had remarked in the part three video, he sort of did a huge disservice by not demonstrating of how modern taxi hire and dispatch works via the Curb app and/or using a Lime Green Boro Taxi (which can drop off anywhere in NYC but can pick up only in the 4 outerboros and northern Manhattan above the “Yellow Taxi Zone” (West 110th Street; East 96th Street) versus a traditional Yellow Taxi.
I get it’s a race, but the spirit of the channel is to also educate and inform. The Green Cabs are not necessarily a nationwide concept, found in other cities. And it’s only existed for since 2012.
Congratulations on your one-two Photo Finish and all hail the Fit AS EF Our Tribal King!
Awesome series! So thankful the YT algorithm recommended me.
Thanks so much for watching!
that is the correct pronunciation of LIRR though in my opinion never having been to new york
Miles that stranger that was telling Jordon he agreed but then was against Jordon and on your side was so funny and WHY DID THE LONG ISLAND RAILROAD TEAM NOT KNOW IT IS PRONOUNCED THE L I DOUBLE R. (This is a joke)
Yknow the taxi team taking the ferry was obviously legal
It was a water taxi
✌🏾
Maybe try a similar race but a long distance one New York to Miami ot New York to LA?
😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎉 congrats miles
Haha, thank you!
Miles is not in charge of the boat
As an aside, Hoyt-Schermerhorn is so large because those two outer tracks were for a now long discontinued service, the Court Street Shuttle. Those tracks lead to what’s now the New York Transit Museum.
Now that is a fun fact!
8:45 I hope Mr. Taylor is watching, because this is the 2nd time his son got lost in transit
These guys know the NYC subway like the back of their hands. He was being overly dramatic for the sake of humor.
@@Leonard_Wilson even professionals mess up kid, plus naw with how big the NYC system is in general I doubt all 3 have it memorized. Boston yes, Philly yes, DC yes, NYC I doubt it.
Leonard, I appreciate the confidence, but I genuinely was lost there...the signage was terrible!!!
