in aus we have a an oldschool mentality to the game I guess because we dont have absolute superstars carrying teams we have to utilise everyone more evenly and slow the pace down a bit. As you can see from giddy hes not violently crashing boards at lightning speeds hes thinking the whole way in. I always felt like that was a big part of Australian basketball.. Ironically because we dont have as high level players across the board the players rely on each other for high percentage plays rather than 1 player controlling the scoring, it helped create a high level player. Kinda funny watching him control the pace and move like an NBL player with the skills and brain of an NBA player
Yep start from the foundations. Basketball Australia has a big emphasis placed on being able to throw passes properly. All these passes he throws with one hand at different angles around the defender are taught from juniors all the way through

Be very interesting to see how far he can take his game with consistent skills development. If he goes real hard at it he could end up a very good player.
This guy has a chance to be really special. You can just tell he is a Coach's son. Sort of reminds me of a taller version of a young Steve Nash with his feel for the game.
High IQ guy who understands the game and sees the floor. Has to develop psychically and has to work on his jump shot to be and elite player. Opponents will crowd the paint and won't allow him to penetrate so he will have to develop a jump shot from range.
Whenever someone tells me a player like Larry Bird couldnât play in this generation (believe me I hear it more than you would think) it makes me laugh, he is twice the player Giddey is and look how well Giddey is doing right now đ
This guy is going to be a menace. Players that have their own way of moving with the ball and own unique style of play on this level always become stars or what-if-they-didn't-get-injured players. His airborne plays are planned out 3 moves ahead so you never know if he's actually going up with it or doing some janky ass pass that would normally get you benched. +give him 5 years of development. Guys going to be a problem, a HUGE problem.
