My first thought when I watched this was it's always a lada
They made more than 17 million of them
Volume over quality
All that torque will make the earth spin the other way😅
Newton's third law ;)
"Give me an axle shaft strong enough and a Lada on which to mount it, and I shall spin the Earth"
It can't the earth is flat.................only joking I'm not a nut job earth is round.

That torque is spinning the earth the other way. You just don’t know it
"Slowest burnout ever!" Words never associated together.
This is a brand new sentence to all of us
Pretty impressive
I don't know, that crackhead down the street is a pretty slow burnout
Can we just appreciate the guy who's translating here... you're making it more and more interesting, thank you man, we appreciate you.🤗🤗🤗🤗😙😙😙
Hi! Honestly, I enjoy translating these, and the positivity in the comments on this channel is always very gratifying.
i appreciate his work but i'd rather hear the original voice with subtitles
who knows, i might even learn russian
Get a heavy duty axle, mount some tractor tires for traction, pull EVERYTHING on the dirt.
Tractor diffs also.
Bruh they mad enough to do that inside that lada. Mad ladas
Then you’d just have a tractor
I love how much this version of the channel has grown. I found it back when there were around 14k subs and now it almost 600k. The translator is fantastic, and the content on here is awesome. Just wanted to bring that up. I'm glad so many have found this little gem of automotive carnage produced so well. 😎
Thats the unfiltered power of the Lada at work
Better than 10 minutes drag race of 10 seconds supercars IMO
"Look how much damage it did and how little effort it took." wise words to live by.
you know something good is gonna happen when you hear that “hey there fellas”
😁 exactly 👌
DAMN! That's a Lada torque!
That was bad. Funny, but still bad.

Lololl
-slow clap- Well done, man.
during diff install: "feel the power... woooweee!" I really hope the "woooweee" was BMI Russian. Regardless another nice video, this was awesome, lol.
No, that was G54 guy czcams.com/video/rSf-tidPe-o/video.html
Yikes! So it takes 1.5 tons to break an axle of lada.. Oh maan those cars are build tough!
There isn't much tolerance as most passenger cars are designed to handle only up to twice their own weight. It's nothing like tiny tow trucks that can pull big rigs.
I'm considering buying a lada niva in Putin spec!!
Late Brake Show johnny just reviewed 1 apparently available for 12k
@@statementleaver8095 absolutely worth it!
@@TheNismo777 LOL
No it needs more… if you do the math you get over 13000Nm to break the axle… that is extremely impressive. There was a lot of force on that axle…
3000 lbs of tractive force is very impressive at idle. I've always said with enough gear reduction you could move a train with a lawnmower engine lol
Why do you have to convert it into imperial measurement ? God you lot are so backwards
@@antmk2dreaming614 Because we don't use metric.
Why didn't you understand what 3,000 lbs meant? Are you backwards for not knowing that? No. Not at all. You were not taught the imperial system of measurements. It's probably rarely used in your part of the world. It really serves you no purpose, so you never needed it, and never learned it.
Likewise for those of us in places that don't use metric. It's just not something we are taught, or have to use on a regular basis, and thus, is useless to us. They tried to convert us over back in the 1980's. It just didn't work. Perhaps if it begins to be taught alongside the imperial system in schools, it would catch on. But as it stands now, that's not happening anytime soon.
Thankfully, Google clears that right up. 3,000 lbs = 1,360.777 kg.
We're not wrong. You're not wrong.
Pulleys and gears are incredible things.
@@ATruckCampbell give me a lada engine and i will lift the world
-Galileo Galilei
"Not that impressive" literally *idling* tearing up pavement at 1.5 tons
Russian standards are something ordinary people can't understand
Than you never visit Russia...
Well here in America we had old pick ups with stupid low gears granny 4 speeds and at idle in 4wd they coukd do that just waaay faster but still
That’s probably a pretty shitty road tbh
Next episode: "How to make a TesLada using a windshield wiper motor"
this ultimate gear ratio should be enough for that
If he uses Honda windshield wiper motors, yes! They're wound more than most, for helping to remove a big dump on your windshield of slush/ice.
well he already resurfaced a head using nothing more than sandpaper and a windshield wiper motor..
And put 10 differentials on it
"It goes forward just fine...but then it goes backward. This isn't optimal."
I'd love to see a Rock Crawler Lada project
"There aren't any seats, but there's no need to get inside, we've seen what sort of crazy speeds this thing can get up to" 😂
Thanks to the guy that does lego gear reductions I completely get what's happening. Garage 54 never ceases to amaze taking plans to real life.
Imagine the torsional forces on that last diff, and axles lol
I just wanna say
They should get a DANA axle
@@hifiteen49 Dana 30! Lol
that axle broke at over 10k pound-feet of torque which is impressive
Aaaand in normal, metric units it's how much nM?
@@mmllmmll22 13558,17 Nm. So freackin a lot for a stock axle.
I'm suprised the clutch lasted.
Usually the first thing to be a nightmare!!
@@statementleaver8095 the clutch is actually under very little stress. Keep in mind they had the engine running at idle speeds, no throttle. it was little more stress to the clutch than idling doing 35kph in gear. every 1 lb/ft of torque provided at the trans was 150ish provided at the rear diff, plus another maybe 3.55 to 1 reduction added on for the output at the tires. So upwards of 500 ft/lb give or take, if my math isn't way off.
@@Deviated09 But how about the stress being placed on the 3rd and 4th diff? Surely those two saw some stress?
Lets see the lada pull an 18 wheeler
Like they did on Benny Hill Show decades ago, when a little girl did pull a truck with a three-wheeler...
Turn the lada into the 18 wheeler
Lada can pull a full train if so needed 🤣
Reminds me when I was (too) young and just got my first FJ-40 and pulled a 5 ton moving truck out of the field with it in low 1 with locked axles... I did break a couple of spring leaves from the excessive torque, noticed that afterwards but the axles held... I now realize my folly (and why Landcruisers are loved all over the world)
all you need to do now is to use the Lada you filled up with concrete to get maximum traction LOL
I love this channel so much. Massive balls to do these things. Over here in the UK, I bet you'd end up in prison for all the health and safety laws that'd be broken haha.

Great video and the extreme bravery required for a man to stand with his balls over a highly tensioned tow rope is ridiculous.
Every time I find a new Garage54 video, it makes me happy even before seeing it. :)
Jeremy Clarkson be like : POWEEERR!!!
Speed and power
more like TOOOOORQUE!!!
Wheels start slipping, so Vlad stands on the bumper with the tow rope straining and creaking between his legs to add some extra weight.
The man must already have all the kids he can handle.
How low is the rating on your straps? They only had 1.5t on it. All my straps start at 2.5t
I love these vids
@Tom Simons ᨆ ookk how did u know i was eating ice cream tho 😅
Do the 4 differentials on a commercial truck. Large strong parts and plenty of weight
You just need a bigger axle... Like from that bus...
@@pader4471 true enough to handle the torque. But the diffs in larger axles would be stronger and have a lower gear ratio in each. And the weight would help plant it down instead of the tires spinning. Plus there'd be enough room for someone to safely sit in and DRIVE it.... see where I'm going? Lol
That would be far too much.. The tires would be spinning at like 1 Revolution per hour
Hmmmm... Ladzilla?
garage 54, we got electric cars with 4 electric engines... can you make a car with 4 internal combustion engines, each driving it's own wheel? :)
how about a V8 block with each cylinder pair mechanically independent driving a wheel?
@@illdeletethismusic I take it your suggestion was sarcastic. Otherwise it's asinine.
@@SerbanCMusca-ut8ny i never called it a reasonable suggestion, but it is a way of bodging together something for that task
@@SerbanCMusca-ut8ny very small v8s perhaps.
An old friend of mine had a similar idea. He built a Mazda RX3 with two rotary engines, one on each axle. The last time I saw him he was almost done with the build. Insanity!
4 gearboxes and you could still drive full speed
No, the added weight would reduce the top speed, 2, possibly 3. Would be enough
@@hitchhikerbob4920 Weight doesn't reduce top speed, only acceleration.
/watch?v=ZF58IOOucEw
@@Strike86 weight does reduce top speed. It increases the contact patch of the tires and increases friction, and reduces top speed.
@@littlejackalo5326 Also increases mechanical resistance on axels
@@littlejackalo5326 It also lowers the car which decreases frontal area and wind resistance.
Flip those diffs around and imagine how fast that would spin something...geeeshhh
They just did that in the last video.
"How to fast start a lada by push"
Yea they used one diff...im talking about all 4
They actually did it and ended up exploding the tire, you should check thoses videos, they hilariously scary.
5:47 Whoa this is the first Garage 54 video I’ve seen where there’s no snow and ice outside. It almost looks like a warm sunny place.
Working for this guy would be so fun, doing shit like this everyday just because, love it! 👌🏻
This would be a nice fit for the drift bus that was geared way too fast.
Would probably break cuz of the torque
They need an actual tv show .
I love watching the crazy ideas you guys come up with
Stack Transmissions like they do in some Toyota trucks you'll be amazed at how slow a burnout you can get going
Some guys got bored and cnc created a reduction box that does the same thing as stacking differentials, toss this into an old twintrans hilux, greatness.
@@mikehoncho3099 had kin that created a drill rig stacking tcases behind a gutless wollered out 4bt. Think he spent more on rod than the metal she was cobbled together with but he could drill as deep as 10k with that ugly old beast. Brought water to many a place it was too expensive to hire an outfit. Three fingers on his left hand, yet smartest old timer ive came across.
This is my favorite video I've watched yet this one got me to subscribe. That and the paint job that is.
So you turned the wagon into a mighty Winch
That was a cool experiment! I'm looking forward to Part 2!
I like how he's more concerned with the pavement getting damaged than himself climbing above a tightened tow rope
The ghost busters shirt is an awesome touch haha! I can't wait to watch the version 2 of this build.
This makes me think of a tractor made by a Marvin Baumann. He started with a conventional Ford 8N and added four auxiliary transmissions to it, each of them unmodified in itself but each intended to be installed as the ONLY auxiliary in the tractor. Stacked like that, the "Fourtrans" has enough gear reduction to top out at two inches per minute at full revs. But if you tried to load it up without beefing up other components, the end result would be like you see here: something downstream of all that reduction will fail. Pretty cool project, however, and I enjoyed it.
Ya'll are awesome keep on making these wild and fun videos
Wow an actual working lada. Now that's something you don't see every day.
Episode 202 how fast can a wheel spin
Episode 203 how slow can a wheel spin.

I always smile watching this channel!😁💯
Wow, that’s like a go kart axle.
I hope they do more with this one.
Calling all Lada’s to turn yourselves in to Garage 54 for ummmm… testing purposes before sundown. Failure to go do will result is a substantially more painful death then what you are already going to experience at the hands of these guys. I love this channel.
You really come up with the coolest ideas I’ve got one for ya turn a Lada into a helicopter I definitely think you guys could do it
Really need to do more investigation into this..this is very interesting.
These guys are great, no bullshit. Vlad gets an idea, the guys build it, then they test it. No matter if it works perfect of fails, we see it. I think everything they do is a 107% success.
The landrover has a height advantage, so whenever it's pulling its constantly being pulled down adding more weight and traction. If the lada was bulling something slightly lower it would pull a lot more as for now it's being lifted up while it's pulling and losing traction.
They come up with the best stuff
bolt the rear wheels to the ground and see if it makes a "wheelie"
@n325aej are you serious?
@n325aej uh no
you don't need to say it twice hehehehe
Stuff like this makes you wonder just what madness they're doing over at Garage 55.
I'd like to see this again! Maybe upgrading weak parts, and some new tires with low pressure (10psi).
Thank you BMI for all your translations. The show would still be watchable, but it's much more enjoyable knowing what they are saying 😁
I pulled a 6 tonne motor home up a 1 in 4 hill with a standard Lada Niva in low range on 205 x 16 radial tyres and every thing worked perfect no problem
The half shaft did very well :o) That was a lot of torque.
This is easily becoming a favorite channel of mine.
You could call it the Constructive Man's Imagination Channel.
I love the paint job!
Very cool...bet that would've crawled a serious incline
I love your videos and I got an Idea for a new one: will an automobile engine run in reverse direction?!
Just try to roll start a manual transmission vehicle rolling backwards, while selecting 2nd or 3rd gear and then let go of the clutch. This should result in a very interesting engine behavior! 😁
Asphalt is actually a fluid! For example, you can sometimes see at intersections where drivers slow down quickly that the asphalt will be pushed forward, creating depressions where the tires sit
Dude is a god at ghost riding the whip🤣🤣🤣
Car mechanic: "Those two things aren't supposed to go together."
Garage 54: (picking up his welder) "Hold my vodka!"
Freaking sweet! Love you guys!
That idea of putting truck axle in it is a great idea! Also it would be cool to show both the "normal" driving capabilities and the tow test with the new axle!
Great episode!
That's a whole "Lada" torque!!!
Cracking, your doing an upgrade, think my landy would pull the same weight.
Best mechanic show ever
Can't believe he dares to go close to that rope, those sorts of snapping accidents are dangerous as hell.
My thoughts exactly, when he stood on the bumper while it was under tension!
They have done enough stupid things that they know how much tension the rope can take... Those are nothing like the regular towing ropes that are basically thin and soft plastic fiber.
@@Monni95 I suppose they could have inspected the strap really well and been working within its working load limit but, why risk it?
I never even imagines that a half shaft would snap like that.
I was certain that if the wheels were spinning, then the weak point would be the tire to road traction.
I guess I was wrong.
Interesting video, I always learn something new.
Next I want to see cars on a tilting ramp, and see show strong a gradient it can hold before it gives out.
Maybe do parking brake, vs park gear, vs 1st gear and hand brake, or something like that.
it got real at 4:37 !! ooh boy those tires

The all ways got weird ideas but cool to watch
