    A drop of worm oil on the shirt material/threader makes a world of difference.

    My wife and I met your Dad, Tom, at the Lake Placid boat landing yesterday. We chatted about you and your brother. Come to find out he “summers” in Minocqua. My wife is from Merrill, my home city is Racine, and we lived in Tomahawk for 23 years prior to selling our home and retiring to Fort Pierce permanently 2 years ago. We visit friends In Wisconsin every summer and fish many of the lakes in Boulder Junction. He told me to drop you a line. He was on his tire-squealing, electric trike enjoying a ride when we chatted. I enjoy your videos. Congrats on the Angler Magazine cover and article!

    Stupid suggestion - but get some saliva/water on the skirt before you run it through. It won't bust half as often. I also do this with fresh soft plastics if I feel the hook isn't clearing the bait easily enough (mainly for summertime when I lower my drag due to the softer skin of the fish when it's warmer out)
    Love your vids, dude. Thanks for all the effort you put in! You remind me of my Uncle who passed away a few years ago. Loved fishing with him when I visited Florida.
    Take care man.

    A small straw also works well with a little drop of super glue to hold the skirt in place.

    Hey Mikey, I do the same thing with a paper clip. I open it up straight and make a little hook on one end. I slip the skirt on the hook end and then pull it through.

    Bobbin threader. If you tie, you have one. Hadn’t thought to use it that way. Thanks

    Still a big fan of the Halo rods myself! Have been using them now for about 3 years. Have 6 casting models and 2 spinning. Lots of bang for the buck! Another great video young man!

    Mikey, I’ve been doing that for the past five years. I will take a lot of Ned Bates and I will take it and crisscross a little pattern on top or on the bottom of the hook so it looks like a skirt on the bottom next to the hook and set up and down, it falls back down in the water you can see the skirt material flickering and it draws a strike and eight out of 10 times I’m landing that fish😮 but I’ve actually use my grandmother‘s threading tools. Just like to insert a rattle there’s other ways of doing it and spending money on them tools and they work you just gotta do the right application with the right application and someone else comment put some oil on it and take a dab of Loctite glue gel, and it will stay in plastic until the rips apart 😊😊😊😊😊 I love your content Mikey ,!!😊

    It's basically a bobbin threader for tying jigs... wire I believe is a hair more sturdy

    Definitely going to try this out. Looks like it gives the senko a new look, bass may just not be used to that and that can be a killer way to get committed bites

    It is also much easier to thread thru with the tab cut off. Thread it in the tool, draw it tight to the work then clip and pull. As well as what's been mentioned. A bit of work oil or a light spray of scent to help pass thru easier. . I do this with 3 inch high float worms and leeches. Looks like a big fly or dragon fly on the water I guess. Seems to work

    Put some Bait Fuel on the skirt before pulling it through the plastic. It definitely helps.

    Mikey That looks like the tool we used back in the day with the Mojo pencil weight rigs. Glad to see The Bogs is Back in Town! Mikey maybe lub the skirt material once you get it pulled through and started with some fish scent to help it pull through and scent your bait at the same time. I would also try that setup on a Gika/Jika Rig.

    @Steve13lb12oz Před měsícem

    Been doing that for years with only modest success. That tool is a traditional fly tying tool. The skirt material does break kinda easily. I know you can’t mix elazTech material with plastic worms, the silicone has its drawbacks. I haven’t used living rubber material in my efforts. I think it might be a win.

  • @blind_eye_fishing
    @blind_eye_fishing Před měsícem

    You could just buy the worms a company makes with the skirt material through the worm. Pre made might be the way to go for some people. And as someone else said that tool is just a bobbin threader used in fly tying.
