I don't know why people care so much about the marketing, it not offensive, it's just dumb. But so is a lot of marketing, whether knives or whatever, all claiming to be the best at something (c'mon Pepsi insinuated it could calm social unrest). I just ignored the marketing like I do for most products and found my favorite brand. Good review.
Interesting to watch this video in retrospect given how your “American Lawman” chant has become a part of the channel. I think you have become a Cold Steel fan since this video. I finally ordered one so I wanted to watch some reviews, so of course I watched yours. Your reviews were good then but I think they have improved even more since them.
My gf got me this knife for christmas, and I absolutely love it. It is gonna be tough to beat, and I have a feeling it is going to be king of my pocket for quite a while. Also like everyone else, my only complaint is that blade coating. I may strip it off at some point. I didnt ever expect that I would be able to flick this blade open without wrist given that killer triad lock, but I can, and that pleases me. Highly pocket friendly. I just don't know of another knife, especially in this price range functionally. This is just a fantastic tool that i love to use. Its not a fidget toy or pocket jewelry. Awesome tool.
The code 4 is a great knife. I just ordered the Pro Light and hope it does well as a budget EDC.
Brian, this is one of my fave EDC knives. I keep one in the glove box of my Camaro along with a box of condoms. Why? Because....'Merica!!!
Seriously though, I do think it's a fantastic, easy to carry and strong EDC option. Funny, I have featured mine in a couple of videos but I don't think I have done an individual review on it. I need to check on that.

Hahahaha!!! I know you were making a joke but I believe every word of that! My dad had a 25th anniversary Z28 (that I’d routinely smoke in my Toyota Supra Twin Turbo) but for some reason, I picture you as more of a yellow IROC-Z kinda guy. With T-Tops.
But yes... it is an outstanding knife. I wanted to hate it, but I love it. I’m sure it will be featured in my next “Knives I EDC” update.
Slicey Dicey, back in the day I may have wanted an Iroc but the 80's are long gone. I do like the new Camaro. I would love to have a new ZL1 1LE but I guess I will just stick with my 350z. Although I can barely fit a pack of condoms in it.

I've owned Cold Steel knives since the 1980s. Lynn Thompson amuses me. I'm always surprised that people take the company's advertising seriously. If you don't get their frame of reference then you probably won't like their products.

My favorite knife! I carry it every day. I have many other knives but I usually grab my AMERICAN LAWMAN!💪👮 because it always gets the job done.
It really is a great knife. I hope I didn’t make too many jokes but their marketing is just begging for it.

It’s fine if you like them. I just don’t get the point of being so polarizing when you’re trying to run a business and market it to a large market.
I'm sure they're just being themselves cause it makes them happy.

I have a Mini Lawman (no longer made) which has grown on me a very great deal. Feels good, sounds good, looks pretty good. Actually, perhaps strangely, I got the notion to "relic" it awhile back, so after I took a file to it rather violently (except for the blade edge), it actually looks like Cold Steel did some destruction testing on it. Now, I like it even better. I found a good deal on a regular American Lawman today, and it's in the mail. I think I'll leave it un-reliced, at least for now. And just a word about Cold Steel: I've been down and I've been up. Good or bad, it messes with you in many ways. Hard, but not impossible, to overcome that. We're all Big Boys now and most of us can learn to cut the other guy some slack and be objective in our speech if not in our thoughts. I'm that way about Mr. Thompson and his company, although I have to say it took awhile. If you're in Southern California and have the opportunity, Cold Steel actually has a very nice outlet store right next to their manufacturing plant in Ventura about 45 minutes north of LA. Well worth a visit, and in my experience the prices are what you'd pay on Amazon. Nice lady clerks there, too. Great place if you need a spear.....and some bandaids.

To me, Cold Steel is Zero Tolerance with a Mullet. But I gotta admit, I do really like my Lawman, it is the only Cold Steel I own, but I do want an AD10. I edc a Civivi Nox Stainless framelock. It feels a lot like the ZT0450, and it only cost me 29.99$ with a Nitro V blade, and if I break or lose it, I won't cry,

I hated the name of my Broken Skull but it rendered my spydercos and many fixed blades obsolete. Off to get a gen2 trans am to keep this in the glove box.

I just think that (judging by the videos) I think that the owner of Cold Steel has owned a Camaro or two. My dad had one also. Nothing wrong with Camaros but they do attract a certain sort of people. Especially the old ones. Thanks for watching!

The clip issue is because a lot of us believe it's possible to design an ambidextrous clip, like every other manufacturer is able to. I really don't think the benefits of it dangling slightly better outweigh the down sides when it comes to having two clips vs one ambi clip.

I recently bought the seven steel version of this knife to replace the aus8 version.
The new version handle is thinner & cheap feeling.
The good news is the aus8 & seven steel are 100% interchangeable with one another.
So now I'm rocking the seven steel with the aus8 thick handles & it feels 100% better constructed.
I agree with you. They make good stuff but the alpha male, tacticool Timmy b.s. is a huge turn off. Represent your company like an adult and not a frat boy and you will draw more business.
