I have a similar build from 2 years ago that I use with an AR with Fenris Mask, Grupo Chest, Memento Backpack, and Improvised Knees, Holster, and Gloves. I stacked CC and CD and with everything I have 80% Protection from Elites from all the mods. I have a revive hive and a Shield. I love running that build on higher difficulties.

I feel the same way while running the matador at 1.3m. Theres so many enemies that the bonus armor stacks never really go away!
I completely agree, Matador is great for crowd control, even better with the Unbreakable Armor piece as you know to look for cover or shield when it breaks!
I knew there was a reason why I was collecting protection from elites gear mods. Now I have a great reason to use them. Thanks!
I hope Ubisoft doesn't nerf this but I know they will. They don't like players coming up with creative ways to beat their games.
On a side note: This would be a great build to go mask collecting. Come at me bro. :-)
I got 3 builds like this, 1 with coyote, 1 with catharsis, and 1 with tardigrade just in case someone on the team doesn't have one (punch drunk mask instead). If someone does have tardigrade, I'll use a Belstone (for 1% armor regen) chest piece with unbreakable, improvised kneepads and holster, Ceska backpack with vigilance, and contractor gloves. 2 Blue cores (to make armor regen faster) 4 reds. CHD/CHC. With a scorpio primarily. Gunner spec just for armor on kill. Really fun.
I have a 1 red pfe build. Countdown is elite heaven. Chill out mask, 2 improvised pieces, deathgrips, and 1 sokolov, and 1 belstone. Intimidate/Adrenaline Rush is so good cus all those elites stack it quick. SMG and scorpio are 🔥 .
Let's keep it as is. Countdown is a crazy and efficient farm.
I have a similar set with ceska intimidate, grupo adrenaline rush and catharsis mask. Damage and survivability are huge. I run improvised gloves and holster + foxes prayer . 3 red and 3 blue cores. All pfe mods

Four piece Heartbreaker, contractors gloves, Catharsis, and a ACS 12 with Flatline. Run either banshee pulse or scanner.
Man speaks the truth. I just solo-ed the first 4 hunters and an encounter with relative ease.

Great build! I use protection from elite all the time in countdown and wonder why no one has post this kind of build out yet. What I use is the ravenous, coyote’s mask, prefect adrenaline backpack, intimidate chest, 3 pieces improvise, 3 blue 3 red with all attributes crit hit and crit dmg. Adrenaline and ravenous defensive buff easily makes intimidate up all the time, and protection from elite gives you the ability to face tank a full room of gold mobs. Countdown feels like a joke now 😂 i face tanked 3 hunters , one of them bonk my head with the axe two times and I’m still going haha
🤔 Now the Ravenous is something I hadn't considered... definitely going to have to give that a try. Sounds legit!

@@msjaaye423 the named Walker & Harries backpack have the talent “perfect adrenaline”, and the chest piece I use is Groupo for the 15% crit dmg (not necessary but that’s what I have) 👍🏻
Yeah I had a protection from elites build also. It caps at 77% I believe. I would use it on control points. As you know they have incorporated some red and purples now. I used it on my second run on count down. I also use the Emerald smg (for amor on kill) as primary and Scorpio as a secondary. 1.8 million with the Momento BP. Definitely a good idea

So because I was just coming back to the game I was running my TP Tank build until I got used to countdown. But good God everyone was wiping the floor with these NPC's making me feel useless. So against my entire thought process I decided to try this. The only problem was I couldn't roll a decent pair of gloves to save my life and had to settle with an armor roll on my holster. So to give me the extra mod slot I rerolled my chill out mask. Not perfect but I wound up with 71% pro from elites, 58.1 %CHC, and 124 % CHD. This build blew me away and this was just parts I threw together to try it. Not only can I stand out in the open, sometimes face to face, and survive, I found it fairly easy to kill most enemies. It just blew my mind that we spend all this time on sets, builds, yada yada and this was go grab a piece of Sokolov and GS, with 2 improvised pieces, and your memento and go to town. It made the runs so much more fun! Great build. Thank you!
Nice. I have been using something similar. Weapon Core: Walker Harris mask and Backpack(Vigilance), GS Chest-piece(Braced), Contractor’s gloves, Fox’s Prayer Knee Pads. Armor core: Improvised Holster. 4 PFE mods + 10% from Survivalist(60%)Weapons: The Apartment 116k, and Exotic MMR Dread Edict 349k. I chose Dread Edict for 2% weapon damage stack and 5% headshot damage(20 stacks), and 5% max armor for 10 seconds on reload. Headshot kills refill magazine.

These hunters have skill tier 7000,50mil armor,and about 32 Million Damage lmao.

You are so right I use my protection from Elite build it's an old build but it works so good I couldn't even believe it myself 4 blues I could not die I was running around with no Shield tanking for my team. they better not nerf these mods either

As a returning solo, this information is actually gold. My aim is a bit rusty, but I think it's time for me to change up my gear a bit and start farming that new gear. But I'm not a fan of the Memento backpack. Will try to figure something out while I test this out.
There's plenty of things you could replace it with! Adrenaline Rush, Vigilance, Companion, and more are all good high end talents
I like bloodsucker paired up with intimidate.
U just made that mode so much easier and i havent even played it yet and now i have plan for my protection from elites mods

You just gave me an idea for a build, which will probably be better than that one. Maybe add a Picaro's holster for additional armor. I already got three level 13 protection from elites mods....(hehehe) Thanks!

I’m curious if there could be a Yaahl variant of this to really emphasize Hunter combat. You could be basically immune to their pulse ability and keep up your defensive drone.
I don't actually know if hazard makes you immune from the EMP. Definitely something I'm going to try!
It does if you have 100 % hazard protection or if you have 100% disrupt resistance
I had every one of these gear pieces maxed out and I only went down once…. This build is definitely good to use

protection from elites will be needed since you planted the seed.lol. great video I may go with my hunter fury build with 1.3 mil armor and add the protection mods.
I've been messing around with how much protection from elites to put but i agree, POE is the best to run, it's 99 percent elites
Lady death is nice with this build also since you're always on the run in countdown.
For sure! I struggle to enjoy the Lady Death in PVE because of how frequently you have to reload haha, but I know some love it!

I personally run a full on DPS build in countdown and Raids. You have to understand that you'll never be alone and most players who still play the game are decent at the game. The faster you can clean the objectives the more loot you'll get. Full heart breaker set, Coyote's mask and the backpack of your choice and you'll be sorted. If you have the Scorpio, I don't see how you could go down, even against a hunter.
I have a similar build from a long time ago that just sits there mostly. My set up though was 6 skill tiers but all red attributes. It’s an awesome build for the Rogue agents. Especially in the Summit. I can stand there and they hardly do anything to me.

Yes! You get one piece from each of the 3 Legendary missions in the game: DUA, Capitol Building, and Roosevelt

I have a similar build, but I run the Improvised on knee pads and not Im not using the Memento. I just dont die. Im capped on PFE...Its a fun build to run.
How are you getting 70% pfe from 5 12% mods? This is what I’m curious about. Because when I run 5 I have 60% pfe. Please enlighten me where does that extra 10% come from?
The Survivalist Specialization has a 10% PFE node on its skill tree!

You don’t really need this extra survivability in countdown though. It’s an 8 player experience so you probably won’t even get an opportunity to use an armor kit. You blow through each objective very fast and don’t even have much time to be the focus of npc fire. DPS is priority in countdown with maybe one person running heal for the extraction part. But if you run memento the tiny armor regen from that should be good enough tbh

Welcome back! Nope, they never touched this set up so feel free to go for that. I'm running a very similar build that I use specifically for Rogues. you can face tank 2 rouges easily with it and not even drop armor.

@@RogueGold it is.. but I found it not very effective against the floor 100 Hunters... actually, at all... I'll have to try it again cause your shot with the hunter taking 2-3 shots. that wasn't my experience with it...I'll have to re-visit that one.
Try striker with Coyote mask and use adrenaline rush for backpack and use the chameleon

Instead of nerfing, they'll probably replicate what they did with White Tusk spawn in Legendary and Skyscraper by spawning reds and purples

Yeah I've had a PTE build on 2 characters for about a year now. And there's no reason to nerf anything since they raised the difficulty on the NPCs for this update. Our gear doesn't hit as hard until it's at proficient level or higher.
They didn't adjust NPC difficulty with this update

@@Ohiostategenerationx Still feels the same to me. I haven't even optimized that my bills for proficiency perks and I'm still killing cold enemies with my all red build of course I'm also getting down to quite a bit so I got to keep my distance or play the game smart like I always try to do.

I've actually made one since this video, Fenris chest w/ Spotter, Memento, 4 Heartbreaker (all Protection from Elites mods), 6 reds 1 blue and the Kingbreaker w/ laser pointer from Technician Spec. It's crazy good

I don't know what I was thinking when I got rid of my protection from elite mods, I only ever needed a single one for a build at that time

im newish to d2 and i swear im the talents never work for me. i have such a hard time killing things on my own with anything other than a 1.2m shotgun.
i also never get new exotics. i only ever get exotics that i already have.
What talents are you referring to, specifically? And the new Exotics are awarded at ranks 55, 85, and 90 on the Season 9 reward track!

and im talking about exotics in general. the only exotic guns ive gotten to drop are the two i already had and i got an exotic kneepad and now thats the only armor im getting.
Well Exotics are very rare, and there aren't that many per gear category. So if you're playing in just one targeted loot zone- chestpieces for example- then your chances of getting a repeat exotic drop are much higher than if you go to a different targeted loot zone

Try 6 reds with a Deflector and 0% POE. Big difference. The Deflector absolutely helps, as I said in the video, but the POE is the real star

Not game breaking for sure, and I wasn't suggesting they do anything one way or the other. I just think it takes away a bit from Countdown's "coolness" if it can be trivialized like that
FYI, Intimidate has been nerfed into the ground. Don't run it. :S
It can still be quite good, you just have to be conscious of its new functionality
@@RogueGold Yes, but the fact it ramps slowly, and no longer multiplicative (amplifies vs just weapon dmg) it's not as busted as it was before. I don't think it's that great atm.

It was never difficult. As long as you have people who work together, get the buffs, it's easy

Boomer build with glass cannon you could stand right in front of him and take his damaged and give damage back when they bring him to his knee.
I never ran one of these in the Raid, but I imagine it would work similarly and quite well yeah

Please change that thumbnail 🤣 don't put the idea in their head.. There's no reason to nerf it though, it's working as intended. 1 mode being mostly elites isn't a reason to nerf it. Heroic control points have always been mostly elites. I hope they don't nerf it. I don't want them to get the idea in their head either lol. I havent even used a protection from elites mods. Also you can make yourself 100% immune to a status effect and that doesn't need nerfing. Idk I don't see this as a problem because you're not 100% immune to damage. Rather than nerfing PFE they should just add other tier ads. Awesome build though maybe I've overlooked it. Everytime I see a PFE build its super tanky and I don't like shooting peas at people lol

Why would they nerf protection from elites? This has been a thing forever. That’s why people spec into PfE for legendary and Raids. This is how it’s supposed to work
Because they want it to make it as painfully difficult as possible, almost to a point where playing high difficult content is not recommended by yourself. Incoming repairs had a huge nerf because it had a great impact on the individual.
I dislike nerfs very much, especially when it has an impact on creating diversity for builds. I wouldn't be surprised if they do nerf it - but will be very disappointed since it's just a shortcut and not a fix.
( New to your videos) The Devs dont want to be nerfing anything, we are supposed to be getting stronger and tougher, or what is the point of the expertise system . I dont want to grind for months making a build that is strong , just so an NPC can 2 shot my armour to pieces.

Protection from elites is NOT a viable build. Not even in countdown. You dont have ANY dmg in that build. hitting for maybe 500k fine. But why only hit for 500k when you can hit for 900k and still be more tanky.
