Billie and her brother wrote and produced in their bedrooms, the whole LP was done at home not in a studio. The song which started all this was Ocean Eyes, she was 13 and Finneas (her brother) was 17. She has only just turned 21, I think the talent they are showing at this age is amazing. Her fame at such a young age and speed has been a struggle, if you follow her from the beginning you can see, you go from the young pop, experimental sounds, her deep depression to I'm a young adult starting to love myself. They are also the youngest to write and produce a James Bond theme. I'm in my 50's and love them.

Hi Joanne, thanks for the info download. Most albums these days are made in a bedroom. All of my work is made from home. Studios are becoming less and less necessary with modern music production technology. Sounds like she has had the pretty typical nobody to famous experience. That never tends to end particularly well.

      @@JasonBrocket why?
Btw she is on top in everything for 5 consecutive years … in US with total sales she is only behind Taylor Swift in the last 4 years with only her 3 albums (1 EP).. 😅 she even made Vinyl history 2 times with her 2 albums in streaming era … almost 20 Guinness world records .. sooo many achievements .. her debut album is the best debut female album in Billboard 200 this century.. she is always on top every year! So I think she is fine and she will be fine.

@@hoy68290 Hi Ashley. Ok, I finally got your why? from your last line -> Why does it not end well you are asking. Well, I can cite you line and verse of young people who became famous and ended up abusing drugs or basically royally f**king their life up. Just look at the most famous pop star of all time, MJ. Nobody can say that being exposed to stardom and the music industry from a young age ended up well for him. Also, this type of overnight stardom that hasn't really been earned through performance, touring and working your way up tends to really mess with people. I'm not saying it's guaranteed to end badly, but the chances are massively increased. As an addendum I'll also say that I am entirely unimpressed with sales figures and awards. When you understand how the music industry works these things become inconsequential. The best artists in the world are not the ones on top of the charts, and that is especially true right now in 2023.

@@JasonBrocket first of all i know exactly what you are saying, I work there .. but Billie is not MJ….. fortunately she didn't have his toxic life or childhood with her family … or Amy Winehouse's… and not for everyone happens like that… Taylor swift was just as successful, and she is fine and like her Madonna and many others etc .. I know charts, sales, records isn't the important thing, especially nowadays but for now she's on top of everything.. despite making anti mainstream music…. ANTI mainstream so she's definitely been renewing pop music for 5 years and all the labels can confirm you what a revolution she's made in 2019 with her records in charts and records even in vinyls sales, physical formats with only her 2 albums she did records in pure sales in 2019 and 2021 .. and what is happening from 2020 to today in music with emerging female artists. I work there but in my country and she was and she is still huge for her IMPACT… and if you don’t known her REAL story: Billie Eilish has signed with Interscope and with them she can do whatever she wants, she decides everything since she was 15 and when she was 17/18 (having shown to them that her artistic ideas had success) she does everything by herself.. the team love her like a daughter and she has her TWO PARENTS work with her, they are ALWAYS with her and her brother same .. she is the artist with the healthiest situation of them all .. just look at the shows she does (the most acclaimed shows and festivals in 2022) .. she doesn't care to be like other pop artists … she likes to make music to be with the world, love people and have fun together that’s all … she doesn’t care about money, about anything of that world .. actually she HATES that world .. she and her family always dress the same even for important events, they buy clothes from charity stores and her only car, given to her when she was 16 by her team for her birthday, it has been destroyed for years and she has never spent 1$ on the car to repair or change it for 6 years. . she lived in poverty as a child her parents nearly lost their house 4 times to the recession, her mother was at the end a music teacher and he was a carpenter .. 2 failed actors who raised their children with the passion for music and acting..she and her family always thought money is not important and give it away..they were happy before money so they don’t care about them ..
she never sacrificed her life for the success but she has adapted success to her life… always.. not never sold her body, art Etc but always changed her work and art following her personal growth (from teenager with self esteem issues inner problems Etc to adult) looking at her needs…always tailored career, music to her life and not hers career life pretending a part .. never lived a toxic situation , SHE NEVER USED DRUGS …. She even wrote a song against that.. and she has always been a non-conformist in all pop culture that's why at almost 40 as a woman I love Billie Eilish .. even if young it’s true that she broke the rules of pop in 2019 .. the only one who doesn’t make music for hits, just to sell but real music .. like Adele .. Taylor swift for example I hope you know that she has always adapted her composition to consumer music marketing.. Billie has always had her own way and will always do it the way she wants.. no one stops her.. it's a really strong, stubborn, very charismatic girl, but also sweet and one who knows how to get respect, having a character like that she is very hated, sooo many people made up so many bullshits bc they want to destroy her …. (Same people did for example with MJ, Taylor etc and Madonna in the past and Madonna even now) but despite the hate received after 7 Grammys Oscar Etc she is still standing and doing great .. and she has always been a “rebel” like Madonna. If I can tell the truth she has her empathic soul of MJ, Lady Diana, but the Madonna's charisma .. as a teenager was worse look her attitude on Billboard “woman of te year” presented by the legend Cyndi Lauper(she was also very hated in the past because she was different, and that rebellious spirit is what makes an artist powerful but also very hated .. but great because they are not afraid to be themselves and different)
.. if I have to invest in an artist in the last 10 years, perfect (temperamentally) to throw down and change the music industry a bit from just marketing pop are these siblings .. you can like her, her music or not but she f*cked everyone in 2019 .. proving that it's music and art that matters, emotional and deep songs what matters what the new generation is looking for and we ALL NEED more of that .. especially nowadays and in the future .. we all NEED even old people music that conveys emotion and helps us to face this f*cling 💩 life which is becoming heavier every year especially for young people
no more vulgar things and copied and resold hits .. bullshits.. She and her brother do everything by themselves, the younger ones and they are experimenting and in pop music nowadays IT’S NOT EASY after so many years to be creative and original .... rock Etc is easy, not in pop music .. . I prefer them to Taylor Swift Greg “best” pop artist in the last 10 years) cause with them you never know what to expect.. with Taylor most albums same in composition, same like others and she follows marketing strategy .. now coincidentally after 2019 she does more alt soft pop.. what a surprise…
in conclusion, let this girl live her life and her music ….. she is the only artist who is making her own way and music .. time will tell what will happen, for now let her live… maybe tomorrow you die, I die or humanity will die .. Who cares about the future .. let's think about the present for now she is still huge!

@@JasonBrocket sorry for my bad english but english is not my first language! Btw on average Billie's popularity and fame ranges from 20 to 60 years old, on average those who buy her records are many elderly people .. I understand that she is very particular, different and so many people don’t like her .. I like her she is different.. for me that is art.. also vocally I adore her vibrato, jazzy, dreamy voice and her delicate slides with notes .. I loved Norah Jones, Dido Etc in the past.. and I love Billie now because she put together vocally and artistically 20-60s music with contemporary modern music and for me it’s interesting what they create every time .. I love analyzing as teacher in my class.. their minimalistic music and composition.. and it’s not easy to use that style and do something good with soft music and still have huge sales . especially in a world accustomed to something else…
obviously they are not like legends from the past, absolutely NOT .. but for me in that crap marketing pop culture and music.. they are a rare gem … and we need more artists like them .. my opinion ..

Thing about Bad Guy is it wasn't meant to be serious at all and they said as much in interviews. That song is not everyone's cup of tea so it's frustrating when a reactor starts off with that one because it can instantly turn them off and make them not want to try any of her better and deeper songs. Most of us heard "Ocean Eyes" first, which was her very first song recorded when she was 13.
Good job picking the live version of this one btw. I love it more than the studio version of it. when the crowd comes in and sings with her it gives me chills every time. If you could zoom in on some parts when she's singing, she's clearly crying while singing this. This song is very significant for her and quite difficult for her to get through. "Everything I Wanted" would be a good one to go from here, but maybe the music video as you have the text and visual to go with that. Billie directs most of her music videos and she did a great job with that one.

She has plenty beautiful ballads. If you want to hear her belt, check out her BRIT Awards live rendition of "No Time To Die". And also a must reaction imo, is her song "My Future", a really cool mixture of beautiful ballad, jazz and funk!

I like that you stop midway and work out the chords on your guitar. This is one of her most popular songs for playing along. 👍
Yes, her leg's in a cast from a fall earlier that day. Also, Finneas is wearing a portable sound/woofer. Easy to mistake that for the harness.

Billie and Phineas did the cover of Michael Jackson’s bad think it was a performance on the BBC. Billie’s rendition of this song, very bluesy does justice to the song. She was in her teens when she sang that song.

Hi jdrew5367. I was intrigued so I just listened to this track. It's ok I guess. This song definitely confirms that she does that creaky voice thing as a vocal affectation - not my favourite vocal tool! I've heard worse covers, but I've also heard better.

I had a quick listen to Blackpink, Enhypen and Red Velvet… hated them all! So, no I probably won’t do reactions to those. Also doesn’t help that I don’t speak Korean. If you've got any non-pop artists that you want me to have a look at let me know. Thanks for the comment.
