- Here's my 2014 Chevy Silverado with Pacesetter long tube headers no cats true dual exhaust x pipe to a Flowmaster 10 series dual out passenger side right before the rear wheel. DiabloSport tuning custom tune by Diablew Rough Country 1.5 inch leveler in the front BF Goodrich all terrain k02 tires Canon cold air intake with dry flow filter that's about it it's a strong run and truck loud powerful

There is really no need for the x pipe the flomaster 10 acts just like an x pipe.. And you don't have straight pipes you have a flowmaster 10.
The muffler doesn’t act just like a x-pipe. An x-pipe allows the exhaust to flow down the path of least resistance to help keep the pressure equal and allows each stream to keep each other up to speed, which in return draws even more spent exhaust out the cylinders. Mufflers do exactly what their name Implies, they muffle sounds. The baffle and chamber design inside mufflers helps increase exhaust flow and give them their specific exhaust note.
@@84chevyguy1 your still missing the point this muffler converges 2 pipes into one large chamber then out of that one single chamber through 2 pipes. It acts just as a crossover of any kind does while also acting as a muffler. Exhaust is still gonna take the path of least resistance. If one of the two pipes coming off the back of the muffler is even slightly longer than the other than more exhaust will come out one pipe more than the other. Technically no style of crossover X H or 2 in 2 out muffler qualify as true duals. True dual are two separate pipes from each manifold back.
Correct. I get what you’re saying. Plus I heard having true duals doesn’t help anything. One muffler is better than two when it comes to back pressure. The x pipe would be better to have without the muffler

I have a truck like your it's a 89 chevy Silverado 1500 I have a 5.7 small block engine with long tube pacesetter straight pipe no cat and two super 10s one input and output true dual mags two on each side of the truck
Best sound is the borla stinger dual same side exit for the 5.3 ecotec
It sound badass but rather have a heavy cam with a flow master series 40s

I did mine. Long tube with dual straight. It was too loud. Ended up putting a muffler on it 👍. Also the drone is pretty bad when it’s straight piped but after a muffler install, drone went away.
Torched Tv yea I did straight back no mufflers and it was way too loud so I put that little 10 Series in, it's still pretty loud with that on it. I no longer own the truck and now I have a tuned buy EFI live 2006 2500 GMC Sierra Duramax with a 5-inch turbo back exhaust I'll be doing a video that sometime soon

Straight pipe means no cats no mufflers. You have no cats but a super 10 muffler. Henceforth not straight piped
99ZRT 600 I’ve seen this on all his videos i know it’s not an actual straight pipe but it’s just as loud
99ZRT 600 he also said he has true duals, which are not since they connect at the x pipe. Besides, having true duals would suck.

1 month ago i nstalled headers in my borla atak. On sierra 2016. The sound was like devil. Verry loud i remove it immedity cuz its illegal in qatar

Regardless I would like to know cause I'm about to cut my cats off of my 2011 5.3. It's got straights and it's loud and nice but I've always loved no cats with straights
Randall Connelly it's tuned with a custom tune from Diablosport, there's a guy out there DiabLew-Tune who can help with this. Just look him up

@@kylematlock9551 you can get away with headers and no cats I’ve seen people use spacers on there o2s to trick them for no engine light but as far as it running correctly you don’t need a tune

No, you won't throw a cel till you cut off your catalytic converter. You can cut off the muffler and resonator no problem

I have the Diablosport Intune I3 and that option is on the there? I havent looked much into it. I just have a super 10 and K&N CAI and a 93 tune on factory headers.

It did before I tuned it. You'll ha e to have a custom tuner if you want to not run cats

I would assume so, if you keep your cats, if you take them off you'll need to get a tune so you don't throw a CEL. If you're doing exhaust work at all, especially headers I'd definitely tune it.

It will run like shit until you get it tuned wether you have cats or a CEL or not...I just put headers on and had it street tuned with HPtuners and the numbers were all over the place at the start. ECM will not compensate properly for the extra exhaust velocity and air flow through the engine
