    • @sebastiangonzalez8387
      @sebastiangonzalez8387 Před 9 měsíci +7

      Probably at some point when you'll want to make some deep studying bout difficult and complex concepts or subjects youwill find out that you need more features than just drawing, sketching and writing, apps like the ones they mentioned in other comments like "concepts" or "freeform" from apple let you organize you more with an index, bi-directional linkink, or add more methodologies to your note-studying process, like active recall or stuff like that but i personally prefer obsidian which is very flexible for text but not for sketching. Anyways your necesities determine the tools and features you need...

      infinite canvas give you freedom to do deep connection between ideas. To see the big picture and detail together is not easy if the canvas is limited. • @Dietcoke600ml
      @Dietcoke600ml Před rokem +21

      Keep in mind that the purpose of ypur "notes" (mindmaps, key words and drawings) is to find connections. Hence the latter would be very appropriate, whereby a canvas per chapter and a big ideas canvas for the whole class, but you could also just use one canvas for the entire subject if you prefer

    • @ubervincent
      @ubervincent Před 10 dny

      I am going back to school and I started with one canvas per course.
      then I realize the connections across the courses are too strong and I ended up just having one infinite canvas called Note.
      My principle for note taking now is just two things
      1. Let it increase in complexity and evolve naturally (when I learn about something, I literally just write down words that catch my attention, just free floating on the canvas). As I study further I add connections, definitions.
      2. Be very comfortable to changing the thing you made in the first step.

  • @ubervincent
    @ubervincent Před 10 dny

    It's really interesting how simple minded audience do not get the message.
    When you study you build up a cognitive load(memorizing concepts, recalling them, moving them around spatially, representing their relationships in a schematic structure) and that takes up cognitive resources.
    When you dump that cognitive load on a piece of paper, you virtually free up the cognitive resources, that were not available to you because you're holding them in your head, and allow all of these extra horse power to do one thing - schematic rearrangement - understanding the relationship between these concepts, which then informs where you knowledge is lacking.
    Therefore, just use an infinite canvas and literally dump everything there.
    Of course you smooth brain, tiktok-infested people couldn't read what I wrote because it's more than two lines.

      a canvas just means what you're writing on. For example, if you are writing notes on a piece of paper, the paper is your canvas. Justin said that he prefers an infinite canvas, meaning that he likes to write notes on something that doesn't run out of space. He does this by using a touchscreen and a pen.
