Sean is so funny without trying 😂 Really excited to hear his thoughts more often
Yay Sean! Excited to see more of his reads on the channel. 😃 My husband and I read different kinds of books too, but it’s still fun to chat about them with each other.
I loved Sean master plan! ‘It was Sean all along’ 😄
It’s always great seeing you two on another video. Liked the dynamic and how funny it always end up being. ‘Stop watching my channel’ 😂 only you would say something like that!
Gosh I love watching you guys! Elliot ❤️ Sean
I had just spilled my tea doing that same thing not five minutes ago, so I really resonated with Sean at the end there 😅
Okay, Sean is my favorite person EVER!! He's so funny lmao. So excited to have him on the channel more often!
This is great. Even a casual viewer can see you guys are great together
I liked Terry Goodkind as well, Sean! You aren't alone. I didn't realize how much he borrowed from others because I hadn't read the foundation books he borrowed from, but I still liked the books and still remember how I felt when I read them, so I claim them too! :)
Aww Sean is adorable and I love how you guys are with each other. I don't have a booktube channel but if I started one I'd definitely be terrified of the same thing Sean mentioned, about people thinking my review is not the smartest thing they've seen O.O Had a lot of fun with this whole video!
No reviewers are the smartest and, at the end of the day, our views are both objective and subjective, and I think it's just fair to point that out, underline what your tastes are but how it might work for other people and why. That's what I love about Elliot's reviews. ☺️
you two are so adorable. Sean is so humble - I always enjoy when you do videos together.
Loved the pairing of these tags 👌🏻 its true you really dont see dedicated book reviews, its more within vlogs or things
You two are very adorable ❤😂 made me chuckle a few times out loud.
Big fan of wearing headphones to deter people from talking to me. Also Terry Goodkind launched me into my love for fantasy in high school
Many of Elmore Leonard's books are set in Detroit. He lived in Bloomfield Hills.
😍so excited for sean to treat us spoiled fantasy readers to some intimidating smart books
Sean and the couch are not exclusives 🤣🤣.
And the bed story Elliot 🤣 so precious
I love your username
Booktube going to space would be awesome. The postage for the hauls would be crippling though 😆
Welcome to youtube channel of books.. Yayyy 😊
The whole "my people" part of this video really hit home for me. I've actually said "I love my people" several times in the past after fun back and forth conversations with booktubers in the comments.
Absolutely love Sean's mug 😍😍
Sean sipping from a unicorn mug is great CZcams content. 👌
This was super fun to watch. 🙂
Y🤩S husband 🏷! Happy Bookish Monday Friends
It's so good to see Sean back- he's a hoot!. 🤣 House of leaves has been intriguing me for a while. Plus Sean's book opinions are really good I found out about Alex Nieves channel through you which was handy.
I love how Sean is so casually funny (and he doesn't even realize it himself 😂) and I do like discovering very unique books (I'm sure he knows Perfume by Süskind, one of my favourite books of all time!), so I'm looking forward to know more about his reads (no pressure)! ☺️
And I've also noticed that shift you're talking about, and I've only joined booktube since 2019. I'm less likely to watch spoilery reviews of books I haven't read yet, but if there's no spoiler, it really depends on the book. Moreover, I think what can make a big difference truly is the title of the video, it can definitely increase or decrease my curiosity, so that's something to think about for aspiring booktubers. ❤️
I have a hard time keeping up with all the channels I've discovered through Worldhoppers, I'm not sure I can watch more than 10, or at least only some videos here and there. I'm really trying though 🙈
I didn't know Sean reviewed house of leaves! That's one of my favorite books of all time and I haven't seen anyone on booktube talk about it. Brb gonna go watch it.
Between the anime adaptation’s first season & Sean I gave Vinland Saga a try. It’s honestly one of my favorite series now. I’m currently reading Makoto Yukimura’s earlier series Planetes as well now and frankly a new favorite writer/artist
I think I read the first Planetes omnibus and liked it a lot. I need to get to the second one at some point.
@@Mikeypem Yeah, I happened upon the 2nd omnibus in a bookstore somewhere, was intrigued then decided to blind buy volume 1, thought the least that could happen is I don’t take to it. That didn’t happen.
This was so much fun!!
I love seeing Sean on the channel
My favorite videos feature reviews, but I appreciate all sorts (about authors or the publishing industry, for example). I enjoyed this Q&A.
And I love the unicorn 🦄 mug... But I wasn't expecting Sean to spill the tea.
Loved the idea!!!👏👏👏🤗🇦🇷
I'd love for Sean to do a list of his top whatever # favorite comics. I'm heavily into comics, but not so much manga.
This was a great idea - and great to see more of Sean. With both your perspectives on the channel more there'll be all sorts of authors/books explored. Great video.
God Dammit. This was too cute. This is me as a reader. But also you were pushing so hard! I know the feels. Cute video
Also. Love the glasses
Uuuuu, it's going to be great to have Sean around here more! Gravity's rainbow has been on my shelves for quite a while now, ever since I first saw it on someone else's channel. Hearing Sean talk about it too really kicks up my motivation to actually read it! You two are awesome :)
“I am a booktube parasite” 😂😂
Sean is hilarious.
A friend of mine also sometimes has his headphones in and doesn't hear anything so as not to be spoken to. So Sean is not the only one! 😄
Glad you both continue on, despite any frustrations! The internet can be...interesting.
Erm hang on....*gets a cuppa and shuffles the chair closer* tell me more about this drama! 🤣🤣🤣 I do love watching the 2 of you together
You guys are so cute!! Literally SO wholesome 😊
All I can say is that I love husband and wife videos classic videos and love this video and your amazing channel please stay safe and enjoy your reading love your Australia fan John xxx
I think you're actually right about the shift from content-creation to almost audience-pandering. And about the unfortunate "drama" too.
Also, think you're being a little too nice to viewers, it IS their fault that they primarily watch what it recommended to them rather than looking for what they actually want to see. 😅😅(But maybe I'm too mean🤷♀️🤷)😁 🤣
Great video btw-I really enjoyed it/had a lot fun watching it!!
Also, don't sell yourself so short; it doesn't detract a thing from anyone else or anyone else's channel that you and yours is every bit as uniquely you as you, yourself, are!!!💜
I watch a lot of different channels, and the ones I keep coming back to the most, I always return to for some specific reason that differs from one to the other(And I'm sure most people have pretty much the same kinda differing reasons why the gravitate or not to it from one channel to another too).😊
This vid is so good LOL, the ending with the tea was pretty funny
Hey Elliot. This was so cute. Like Sean, I love to read manga too. I have quite a few manga on my TBR pile. Also, I wanted to let you know, that today, March 28th, I started listening to the Audio book Soul of the Sword by Julie Kagawa. It is entertaining and funny at times. Also, last night, I finished listening to Don't Burn this Book by Dave Rubin, which was great.
Lmao Sean is hilarious. I love this inclusion of him on your page. Honest: never heard of any of the books he talked about. And: I’d totally follow your Tok Sean!
Let’s go, Sean!
The last VP of my department gave me a Thomas Pynchon to read (crying of lot 49) and yeah… definitely weird 😂
Sean, you're welcome to buddy read something with me and be a parasite on my channel too 😂
I'm glad you found your people. Sometimes I like being more of a booktube hipster, because you can become part of a smaller and more intimate community.
Being a parasite, I am always on the lookout for possible hosts 😂
@@Mikeypem Yes! We must buddy read some nonfiction book!
I have found so many amazing BookTubers thanks to Worldhopers! :)
If I'm reading an ebook I'll highlight passages that are funny, sweet or etc. I don't mark my physical books.
I never heard about the rebellion of the light bulbs and I must confess I am curious now ahah Will there be a review for that book?
I relate to the notes on the margins thing 😂 Once I also wrote notes in a separate piece of paper and then I never found them again. Eventually I gave up but sometimes I take some notes on my phone. It takes me longer to read a book if I do that though.
The way I usually find new booktubers is by searching reviews of a book I like or hate or top favourite book videos because I love watching those.
This video was really cute :D
If you really want a deep dive on Gravity’s Rainbow, the channel Leaf by Leaf has a 3 and a half hour long video on it. Although you probably only need to watch the first 20-30 minutes to get an idea of the book.
Books are Better than Food also has a review (it’s around 20 minutes) and he breaks it down very well.
@@Mikeypem I will check them out. Thanks :D
Oh my god I so agree with the frustration gripe. I don't think you can be a good member of a community and ALSO want to be "the chosen one" because "you're not like the others", I have so many friends who are fellow creators who are truly amazing, I don't like someone putting them down in order to give me a "compliment".
Great video!
I miss reviews… and I miss non-spoiler reviews that get me pumped to read something new
Sean can you please suggest some good crime fiction authors and books suggestions please
Sure!
Richard Price: probably best know for Clockers but I also have really enjoyed Lush Life, Bloodbrothers, and The Whites. He straddles the line between crime fiction and literary fiction. He’s usually praised for his realistic dialogue and plots as he has logged many many hours riding along with actual New York police.
James Ellroy: most know for The Black Dahlia and LA Confidential, which are both part of the LA Quartet. His bleak novels have earned him the nickname, “the Demon Dog of Crime.” LA Confidential is one of my favorite books of all time.
Dennis Lehane: Probably best known for Mystic River, Gone, Baby, Gone, and Shutter Island (all of which have been made into films). He’s also written a trilogy of historical fiction novels beginning with The Given Day that are all quite good. With Lehane, pretty much everything take place in Boston.
@@Mikeypem thank you very much looking forward to some amazing reading 📖
A Booktube Parasite loooool
