I'm a millennial and I really appreciate and enjoy this increasing diversity in the booktube community. It's very enriching.
Thank you! It’s such a supportive community. I’m overwhelmed but it quite honestly. Enriching is a good word for it!
Yes white men are very diverse hehe
@@Dogtubee hello there little doggy ! Have you lost your way ?
@@Dogtubee In a space like booktube where most of the content creators are women and even POC women outweigh men, yes a white man does indeed diversify the space. Black does not equal diversity. The presence of many different things is diversity and it is not exclusive to skincolor. Age, profession, culture, religion, life expierence ect. All those things will contribute to diversity.
@@Dogtubee Thankfully for educated , reading people there are far more important things than what colour a person is. I guess you've lost your way and somehow ended up in a video about books.
Wonderful video, thank you. I'm an older, lifelong reader and I think "older" booktubers bring so much to the conversation, so welcome. I admire your recovery story. I started reading heavily when I was a lonely and isolated child whose solace was nature and the library. Now, a half century later😂, books still bolster my life and I owe my survival, almost quite literally, to a lifelong love of books and nature. One thought is I hope you do your channel your own way. I think too many get caught up in massive community reading projects and burn out.
Thanks. Books for survival. I like that. Same goes for me. I’ll take care that I keep things on the channel as I like them. I can already see how easy it might be to get carried away and, as you say, burn out.
Congratulations on almost 20 years in recovery. That’s incredible. A voice like yours is so needed in our world. Welcome to booktube! I just joined myself this week 😅 looking forward to hearing about the books you love!
Thank you. And you just joined? I'll take a look!
Welcome to BookTube! And welcome to the “non young whippersnapperBookTuber community “! LOL (I am also a member of this illustrious group) Lovin’ the scarf!!! ❤️
Looking forward to future videos.
Thank you. Who’d have thought that we non-young whippersnappers could take the young ones on?! Thank you for your support.
You have one of the best podcast voice ever.
Welcome to booktube , you're just 10 yrs older than me... I am happy to see more over 30 booktubers
Thank you! 😊
That's the most amazing scarf I've ever seen. Love it! Welcome, Cams! I'm so thrilled to see so many different people starting BookTube channels in 2024. From an oldie content maker to a newbie, welcome aboard! Looking forward to hearing the books you're passionate about and maybe get some recommendations.
Thanks! My daughter crocheted the scarf for me for Christmas. Isn't it great?!
It reminds me of tom bakers scarf in Doctor Who @CamsCampbellReads
@@daneeag3372Exactly!
I am so pleased I found your channel! I turned 30 last year and a lot of the booktube content I see lately feels too “young” for me (not a bad thing, just doesn’t appeal to me much anymore!), and this is such a refreshing way to talk about books. Feels like you’re getting back to the roots of what booktube is - someone passionately talking about books they love and their journey with them. Cannot wait to see more from you!
Thank Roy Maggie. I’m excited to be here!
What a fantastic newbie-tagged video. Yours is a voice I can listen to for hours. In fact I’ll probably put it in rewatch while I tackle my insomnia. So comforting! Your personal history experience and education are resonating with me and I feel you have a perspective from which I’d want to hear.
My husband is in recovery and has been through it as well. He’s also doing beautifully. I find it has affected our relationships with others. But in a good way. We see more clearly those who are in our lives for the right reasons and we have better deeper connections for it. And we easily and successfully have less “friends”.
As you & I are the same age, so I appreciate your mentioning fantasy series from your childhood. These are what my brother read growing up. His love of LoTR, Dune and so many others was an influence on me. Though I love fantasy, I’m more classic lit. But I will also read just about anything in any genre with a good storyline. Russian Literature is utterly fascinating. War & Peace - even if I didn’t care for the end - is a true favorite. Now,
I feel like I’m watching the male UK version of myself at this point in your video. 😊
Les Mis - I will push through. 😂 I’m so happy you mentioned it. I was having my own doubts.
Dickens - finally and recently read GE, ATOTC, Christmas Carol
Right now I’m halfway through Bulgokov The Master and Margarita. I’m supposed to read it in March with my book club but I couldn’t wait and opened it immediately just to peruse. That didn’t work. lol. It’s just wonderful and clearly a commentary on Stalins Russia- harshly realistic though entirely fantastical.
I am really looking forward to watching your channel! Thank you from the US! Oh and that scarf is ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!!!
I'm blown away by your very kind words. Thank you so much. I wrote my dissertation for my undergraduate degree on War and Peace. I've loved it ever since. I still prefer Dostoyevsky though.
And Master and Margarita has a very firm place in my heart. It was the book I was reading when the hospital called to tell me my mum had passed away, so it's a book I return to often.
Thank you for sending such a heartfelt response. I really appreciate it.
Finally a booktuber that’s real and older and wiser. As a gen x I appreciate you 😊
Wow, thank you!
Welcome to BookTube! I look forward to seeing your content.
Thank you!! 😊
Hello there. Wonderful video, just made my day. You know I have read Assassin's Apprentice last year and obviously it is a five star read, but when you talked about that spirituality and meditation and connected it to the magic system( Galen's way of teaching Skill), it completely blew me away. Also, I'm a young reader and I started reading just 2 years ago and I'm 18 now. I read primarily to escape the reality and some problems i have been facing. I also like fantasy. My parents don't like the idea of me reading a novel, so i have to read in secrecy. It will be an honor to listen to your wisdom and your journey with books. Thank you for joining the book tube❤
Thank you for your very kind words. I’m sorry your parents aren’t supportive of your reading and happy that you’re not letting them hold you back. Keep going and never get caught!
Love how relaxed and conversational this felt. You remind me of a wholesome coworker I used to work with. Curious to hear more about your takes on Russian literature, scifi, and speculative fiction! I'm also a big fan of John Steinbeck...truly moving pieces of literature
Thank you! I’m very excited to be here and am very grateful for your support. Now, back to my book!
I'm excited to hear more from you. You present so well on camera - you have a really calming voice. Excited to hear about what you are reading and can't wait to hear more about your perspective! xx
Thank you so much!
Welcome!!! I'm excited to get to know what you bring to booktube. I also love your scarf
Thanks! My daughter made the scarf for me for Christmas and I absolutely love it!
Terrific! I was watching BookTube for almost a couple years before I got around to making videos, but sounds like you jumped right in! i love what you have to say about Creativity. Yes, indeed, and the sharing of it. Spot on. And yes, this is a tremendous community, and will now be richer for your joining in. I'm looking forward to your coming videos.
I didn’t jump right in and I’m quite curious what was holding me back. Weird. Good to be here now though. Have a look at Rick Rubin’s book, The Creative Act. It’s a real masterclass in creativity.
Fascinating video and a pleasure to watch. Looking forward to seeing more in the future.
Thank you!
oh the lovely british humor! welcome to booktube, this was a wonderful introduction to your channel
Thanks!
I found your channel yesterday thanks to the CZcams algorithm. It's nice to meet you. I am about five years older than you and have always lived in America. Our early reading sounds very similar. I too loved The Three Investigators alongside the Hardy Boys and Encyclopedia Brown. I liked L.Frank Baum's books, especially the ones illustrated by W.W. Denslow. I remember spending one summer as a teenager reading through Stephen R. Donaldson's Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever and the Second Chronicles. I too love a good crime novel and have enjoyed Jo Nesbø, Steig Larsson, and Ian Rankin. I read a lot more literary fiction these days and classics that I haven't read yet. From the nonfiction side I enjoy dipping into history and memoirs especially. And I too love to re-read my favorites. Welcom to BookTube and I look forward to more of your videos.
Sounds like we’d get along famously. I forgot to mention the Hardy Boys. I was a fan. I also dipped into Nancy Drew once or twice. I learned the word solar plexus from the Hardy Boys. They would often get punched there!
@@CamsCampbellReads According to our family legend (which I have not been able to document nor confirm) our line goes back to Archibald Campbell, 5th Earl of Argyll, who fought with Mary Queen of Scots at the Battle of Langside. You and I are probably cousins. 🙂
You have outlined your purposes thoughtfully. So good to meet you this way. I relate to what you observe concerning reading more deeply and intentionally. I struggle because of a long habit of starting too many books concurrently. I am learning to keep a commonplace book as a reminder to relate more comprehensively and creatively. I've just turned sixty and I've been writing in a more disciplined manner for four years and I'm trying to establish a balance between reading/researching and note-making and time spent writing and editing. I admire you for sharing your recovery perspective. It can be a powerful driver. May the human connection bring you a blessing Cam. There are not terribly many opportunities to freely discuss books and those conversations can be rich since God is involved and we are each learners. I look forward to how you develop your channel. Greetings from Sydney🙂🌻
What beautiful words. Thank you Helen. I can relate to the ‘too many books concurrently’ conundrum. I’m working on that too. Sounds like you have some good processes in place.
Love your honesty and openness. Look forward to hearing about your book choices. 😊❤
Thank you so much!
Welcome to CZcams! I loved how you chatted in front of camera and shared your story. Had a bit of a chuckle with you in parts (eg the camera focussing on other faces on the screen behind you. Yep. Lesson learned here too. 🤣). All the best. G’day from Melbourne Australia.
Thank you so much!!
This is great! You're such a natural on camera! Congrats on your sobriety!
Thanks Henka.
Great video! Interesting and thoughtful, and your lifelong love of reading is lovely to see. I'm glad I found your channel, and I'm looking forward to hearing more of your bookish thoughts.
Interesting and thoughtful? I’ll take it! Thank you for the support.
Lovely video mate. Welcome to Booktube. I can relate to your entry into reading, fantasy has always been a big thing for me. Looking forward to seeing more.
Thanks!
Welcome to booktube!!! 🥹 love seeing this wholesome and wonderful booktube community grow! 😁
Thank you!! 😊
Welcome. Thank you for sharing and proud of you with winning the battle. So relaxing and calm, love it. I subscribed.
Thanks for subbing! Glad to have you with me.
Welcome to BookTube! You have a wonderful, calming voice. I look forward to seeing more of your perspective on books!
Thank you so much!
New to this book tube malarkey too. Best wishes with your reading choices this year, I hope they make you happy. Was a paperboy too.
Thank you! Paperboy days were the best.
I loved hearing about your wide range of interests and look forward to watching more of your videos !
Thank you!
Welcome to BookTube! 📚 looking forward to your postings.
Thank you!! 😊
Stumbled into your channel by accident and I think I'll be sticking with you. Loved the vibe! Also love when booktubers talk not only about books but their own lives and how they connect it with what they are reading. Good luck and cheers from Brasil!
Thank you!
Welcome to BookTube. I have subscribed. It is nice to see someone around my age here (I'm 2 years older). I am a fan of many of the authors you mentioned in this video. I'm always surprised that Ian Rankin doesn't get mentioned more. Looking forward to your future videos.
Thanks! I used to listen to a podcast with Steve Cavanagh and Luca Veste, and they mentioned Ian Rankin A LOT! Rebus is such a great character.
Glad you mentioned that one of your goals is to meet others. As a 50 year old myself who reads a ton of books it gets a little lonely when you finish a great book and have no one to discuss it with.
Absolutely!
I love booktube! Been on CZcams watching all sorts of people talk about books for almost 15 years, and you were such a joy to watch and listen to. Welcome to the community, I'm excited to continue watching your videos 🩶
I'm so glad!
The Years of Rice and Salt sounds great. I just ordered it based off your video. Nice to see more people my age. I do watch quite a few youtube channels with much younger reviewers and I love them but it is nice to have a point of view of someone my own age too. The Chronicles of Narnia was probably the series that I loved the most and I kept the editions I have had since I was around 10 or 11 but for some reason I didn't get back into fantasy as an adult until about 8 years ago, so in my late 40's. I still love to read from all genres but definitely always have a fantasy series on the go too. Looking forward to watching your channel!
Excellent. Hope you enjoy it as I did. Not everyone does, from some of the reviews I’ve read.
What a brave and honest BookTube newbie tag. Welcome to this wonderful community, which in the seven months I’ve been on BookTube, ❤I have found nothing but kind, welcoming and supportive. Oh the memories of taping the chart show every Sunday night! I reread The Outsiders just last week. I very much look forward to seeing more of your channel 😊. The other commentators are right. Your Dr Who scarf is amazing 😊 And there is always room for more booktubers. Share the love
Thank you so much! I can't believe how many comments I'm getting about my scarf. My daughter will be well chuffed! She made it for me for Christmas.
Hello from California. Your video came across my feed and I'm not an avid follower of modern or younger booktubers, but I will be following yours. I think the wisdom you have to offer and a different perspective is really unique when you compare to all the other booktubers out there. I love the spirituality you expressed, also. Your video is also so warm and the way you talk is like I'm listening to an old friend sharing his thoughts with me. Love it all. Thank you for starting this channel. 🙏🏻
Aw. thanks Lindsay. I'm excited to continue and am blown away by the support. There will be plenty more spirituality in my videos, rest assured!
Welcome 🎉. I love what you said, "to read more deeply. "
Yes. And it’s working!
A history and book lover here, very happy to come across your channel and look forward to more awesome videos! Cheers for being here!
Welcome aboard!
Such a beautiful video! I have only just started book tube too at 34 so will be following along! Welcome x
Thank you so much!
Welcome to booktube! Can't wait to hear your review on books. And yes, i love the scarf as well!
Thanks Donna. It’s a pleasure your acquaintance
Nice meeting you 😊 Love your accent. English is not my first language and I am fascinated by the variety of English accents. Looking forward to your future content. I'm 48 and there's not enough mature booktubers to follow in my opinion. So I'm always glad to find youtube channeks like yours. Congrats on your sobriety.🌸
Hey, thanks for stopping by. Mature booktubers? Sounds like a nice niche! I hope our channels encourages more people to start! Thanks for your kind words.
Congratulations on your recovery, and welcome to Booktube! As others have mentioned, it's refreshing to see older Booktubers - I'm still in my early 30s, but a lot of the books on Booktube skew younger, and I'm excited to see the variety! I have The Years of Rice and Salt on audio - I'm wondering if it'll be one I'll stick to on audio or if I'll switch to the physical. Looking forward to more videos.
Thank you. I made a video about The Years of Rice and Salt today, but might redo as the audio isn't great. I'm actually feeling quite strongly that I'd like to reread it. Would that be crazy? I finished it on Christmas day. Is it Audible you have? How's the narrator? That might be a good method for rereading.
You had me at the memory factor when it comes to reading books. The desire for a more deliberate experience, pacing. I also appreciated your citing a book that had a transformative role in your sobriety, your philosophy, your spirituality. The very personal quality of this really drew me in. I’ve not read much fantasy, but will follow along, and might give one of those you mention a go. Not a Booktuber here, but I love all things bookish, and I look forward to following your journey. I wish you success and fulfillment with your channel!
Thank you for the very kind comments. I'm just about to hit publish on a longer video about Assassin's Apprentice and I'm looking forward to exploring these concepts further.
Nice to meet you Cam! Really enjoyed this video. I was glad to see Shannara on you list, and also Stieg Larsson. Both series that don’t get enough love on Booktube. I’m currently reading through Realm of the Elderlings, and loving it.
Which Robin Hobb book are you reading now? I can see that I'm going to have to find a way to shoehorn the next one into my reading schedule!
I read a lot of Terry Brooks when I was younger and reread a bunch of them during Covid times so I could read the prequels.
@@CamsCampbellReads that’s great! I still need to read the prequels. I’m reading Fools Errand right now. Book one of Tawny Man.
I really enjoyed your video. Your voice is so relaxing, please make a nice long playlist so I can also listen at night as ASMR!😊
LOL! Will do! Thanks for your kind comment.
Welcome! I also love to read fantasy, and it’s fun to find another former library kid 😊 These are excellent reasons to start a channel, and I’m delighted to see that you now have so many friends to chat with about books 🎉
Thank you. I’m seriously blown away by the support of this wonderful part of the Internet. I’ve found my people at last!
Hello. I’m a literature graduate who could not achieve much then because of eating disorder I suffered long. I can relate myself to yours and glad to came across your channel. I’m now well and I appreciate being able to focus on reading :)
I’m glad to hear you are now well and can enjoy your reading. Thank you for stopping by!
Welcome to Booktube! Love the intro, the atmosphere of your channel is fantastic! New sub, excited to see more of your content. :) I mostly read fantasy with a side of everything else, so I recognized quite a few of your favorites. :)
Thank you for your support, Tori. Good to have you with me.
Your videos are so calm and cozy. It feels like a chat with a friend.
Thank you so much!
Welcome and thank you for joining the Booktube. You are the only one that have given me a solid reason for reading Assassins Apprentice. I’ve had the first trilogy on my bookshelf for years but never got to them. Btw I’m in my 50s too and I’m looking forward to your wisdom 🧐😁
Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm so encouraged by the comments I've had on this video, particularly from people around my age. Glad to have you with me.
Lovely video! I’m a very new booktuber too. I watched others’ videos for about a year before finally taking the plunge. I’m with you about wanting to read more deeply and share insights with a community. Thank you for such an honest and brave video. I’m looking forward to following your channel. 😊
Thanks Pat. It’s such a warm and friendly community. I’m so excited to be here!
@@CamsCampbellReads, it is a very friendly community. I’m glad you’re here!
Hello! Really enjoying this video, too! You'll do quite well looks like, so many great elements to this .. natural, authentic, interesting, the voice, the tea, the clip inserts ----and your daughter could have a booming business 😂 !!!
Thank you Patricia. She absolutely could have a booming business, only I think she started crocheting this scarf for Christmas 2022!
Welcome to booktube! And congratulations on your sobriety. That’s such a huge accomplishment.
Thank you!! 😊
Yay! I also just started on BookTube and admittedly it seems I fall into the common pit of female millennials hahah, so the more varied my booktube feed is the more books I’ll discover that I’ve likely never heard of. 🎉 I also love that I’m not the only one with a 35min long booktube newbie tag hahahab
Ooh, I'll head over to your newbie tag video now! Thanks for watching mine, and welcome to BookTube!
Fantastic intro, looking forward to what you think on the rest of the Realm of the Elderlings. Just finished all the series in that series and it’s phenomenal
I really must find a way to make time for the next one, and then the next ... Thanks for the bump.
Reading books and talking about books are the absolute best…and buying books… love it. Thanks for the great video.
Totally agree!
Welcome to Booktube. I love reading among many other hobbies. I ❤️ ❤❤ your scarf. Have a great day and great to meet you. 😊
Thanks! My daughter is so chuffed with all the love the scarf is getting. She crocheted it for my Christmas present. Good to meet you too!
It is always very enjoyable to me when I learn something I was unaware of. Already have two books the read, thank you.
Nice one!
I really enjoyed your video. You have such a calming tone. I cant wait to watch more of videos. I just started my own booktube channel because I am also part of the lonely readers club. I wish you good luck on building your community:)
Thank you Aly. Good luck with your channel and well done for getting started! It's such a rewarding thing to do, at least I'm finding that anyway.
Lovely to discover your channel, Cams, and hear your life and book story. I too love the look of sunlight on paper while reading. It seems to enhance the pleasure of smelling the book too!
Welcome aboard! I'm enjoying that we're getting longer days now. I read with natural window light this morning at 8 a.m.
@@CamsCampbellReads lovely! Enjoy the longer days! And here in Australia, our days are getting shorter but there’s still a lot of natural light as autumn has just begun.
Welcome! Being on booktube has helped me to remember books more as well. I would love to hear more about how fantasy books helped with your recovery. Fantasy is my favourite genre too though it wouldn’t be obvious from my channel. The Enchanted Wood and The Wishing Chair were my fantasy entry level books too - I read them constantly and still have my childhood copies. I also played The Hobbit on the ZX Spectrum. I got into this to share books for children and just couldn’t resist talking about my own reading! 😂 Love the scarf btw!
That's great that you still have your childhood copies. I bought The Enchanted Wood off Amazon when I had my own family and was horrified to find that they'd been 'updated' and the names of the characters changed. So I found a used original copy with the same cover that I remembered on eBay. Problem averted!
@@CamsCampbellReads yes! I discovered the names had been updated when I tried to read a copy that I’d found in a school library to some children! 😱
Happenstance seems to have brought this video to my attention and I'm so glad it did! This was such a lovely video and I'm so excited to see more from you! :)
Thank you to you and to happenstance!
Your starting of this channel for reading more deeply mirrors a similar goal I felt with my channel. I found between books, video games, shows, anime, manga, etc. - I was just consuming to get to the next thing on my backlog of media. I still haven’t found how exactly I want to present what I have been immersing myself in, but I love hearing how you put a revelation I had into words.
I can relate very well to what you speak of, just trying to get through the media. I've found that it's ultimately not terribly rewarding, but there's just so much of it, and more and more coming out all the time. So slowing down is my goal now. I'll let you know how it goes! Can't wait to see what you come up with. Great channel name by the way! Love it!
@@CamsCampbellReads I look forward to more of your videos. I’ll work to have mine live up to the channel name. Haha
Really enjoyed this video! Best wishes for great success with your channel.
Thank you so much!
Thank you for the manual and accessible captions!
My pleasure. Glad they were helpful.
Welcome to Booktube! I’m also new. It’s so great to come across a Booktuber with a memory similar to mine 😂. I really like your vibe, personality, and how comfortable you are in front of the camera. That’s something I’m still working on. Thank you for being so candid about your addiction and recovery. Congratulations on your sobriety. My husband also battled drug addiction and alcoholism and he’s been sober since 2006.
Robin Hobb is an amazing writer and I’m happy to hear the story of Fitz played a role in your recovery. I’m really looking forward to hearing your perspective from that angle.
I also would like to read more deeply and take more time to digest what the author is saying.
In any case, I could go on about how much I enjoyed your introduction. I’ll definitely be tuning in more. And as previous commenters have said, love the scarf!!
Thank you for your kind words. I made a video about Assassin’s Apprentice for my channel and I go into the recovery angle a bit deeper in that one. You might enjoy watching that one.
@@CamsCampbellReads Awesome! I’ll check it out!
Love the video and love books 🎉 excited for your videos
Thank you! Glad to have you with me. Books are awesome, aren't they?
I’m new to Booktube but not to reading. Like another person posted I’m solidly middle aged and was an avid reader from early childhood. I still love reading but notice I’m distracted by so much these days that’s affecting my concentration when it comes to reading. I hope by stumbling across you and other Book Tubers I will re engage. I already enjoy your perspective and look forward to more content when it works for you. As for depth of reading, I can relate to that as well. I’ve always been a totally immersed and fast reader. And sometimes I just inhale books. Although watching another book vlog where the creator spoke about a book I read many years ago I was stunned to be suddenly back there, in the world of the book where the two main characters felt like women I’d met and knew. All that to say I’m glad you’re here. ❤ from 🇨🇦
I can relate to the distractions you speak of. It can be difficult to carve out quiet time for reading. I certainly struggle with that, but I'm working hard to commit more to my reading by removing other things like TV shows and doom-scrolling. There's an irony in making videos about books in that it takes away so much reading time, but the rewards are so worth it too, as I'm now reading more deeply and thoughtfully, more slowly. So I don't think I'll be doing 10-book monthly wraps like some other booktubers, lol.
Love your channel already!
Yay! Thank you!
We read the Black Cauldron in school. I loved those books too. Welcome! 😊
Excellent. I’d actually love to read the series again for my channel. Maybe I will. The Disney movie was pretty bad though, wasn’t it ?
Hello! I struggle with remembering details from books at well but that's just because I have a bad memory. 😂 Nice to hear about your recovery journey. It's strange, I don't hear many talking about addiction, but it's so prevalent. I also love your calm demeanour, really nice to listen to. I think I'll enjoy your channel. :)
Thank you! Addiction and recovery are kind of the lens through with I see everything. Or, perhaps to wind the clock back further, it’s about trauma and healing.
Secondhand Time sounds fascinating. I've added it to my list. Thanks!
It's so good! I read it on Kindle and then bought the paperback because I want to be able to dip in and out randomly You can read each chapter in isolation as they're like short stories in themselves. Endlessly fascinating.
Loved the video !!
Thank you!!
Great video! Much more substance than a lot of book tuber videos I've come across. Like listening to a mate! Look forward to watching others.
Thank you! Glad to have you with me.
I am from India! So happy to see your channel. Good luck❣❣
Thank you
I could listen to you all day! 😊
Aw. Thank you. I’ll keep posting, you keep watching. Mkay?
Hello from Milwaukee. I found your channel today and subscribed. Please keep sharing and reading aloud. I could listen to you talk or read for hours while crocheting. I'm a book lover, too. Currently rereading Wuthering Heights ❤ 📚
Hi Lisa, thanks for your kind words. Wuthering Heights is such great book. I remember reading that when I was a student and walking back from lectures with the paperback open in my hand as I headed back to my flat. I'd dearly like to read it again. Thank you for the reminder!
Assassin’s Apprentice is on my March tbr pile. My first time reading it and am really excited about it 🙂📚
Wonderful! Hope you enjoy it! I'm sure you will.
Here from NC, USA. Love book talk. Enjoyed today!
Awesome! Thank you!
Nice to see an older, wiser reader with different experience on CZcams, I'm also an older reader and in my 50's, so lovely to find you. A very relaxing and calm video with really interesting information on your feelings of reading and books. Welcome. Might I suggest that you might enjoy LouiseSavidge and Benjamin McEvoy, Ben is a deep reader and you might enjoy some of his videos.
I laughed when you mentioned The Three Investigators, I read a number of this series, too. They were fun to read.
Thank you Kathy. I’ll take a look at the channels you’ve mentioned. I’m blown away at how supportive this community is. So welcoming. I’m definitely in good company here.
Welcome! I can already tell from this video that you are going to fit right in here in the little corner of booktube. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have.
Thanks Hannah! Love the welcome!
I look forward to your in depth discussion of the fantasy book you held up.
If you mean Assassin's Apprentice, I've put a video out on that already on my channel. I''ll be returning to the series very soon.

Thanks!
Absolutely love to see another linguist dabbing with booktube. Keep up the good work
Bringing back all those old library memories. Thanks!
I’m still a regular in my local library. It’s a shame they are in such decline in my area. If it was a nice space to read, I’d be in there a lot more.
Thanks for making this channel. I am grateful for more options “of a certain age” :)
Lol. Thank you!
I stumbled on this video and I was like "I wonder if he's from Ayrshire, I feel like I can hear it", then you mentioned Prestwick Library! :D Really enjoyed this video!
Ha ha. Brilliant! Thanks for the kinds words.
Just found you and loved it! Thank you
Awesome! Thank you!
Welcome looking forward to your reviews and insights.
Much appreciated!
Mate, fantastic introduction. Love your sincerity and temperament. I’m a contemporary of yours- surely you must have read The Wasp Factory by Iain Banks, but if not, have a dig. Good luck and remember to enjoy the journey… don’t become a slave to the kind of expectations that will make this a dreaded chore rather than the source of pleasure you want it to be. Stay well.
That’s some good advice there. Thank you. I’ll take it on board. I have indeed read the Wasp Factory and a few other Iain Banks too.
I like your manner of speaking! It’s like I am reading very good book
Thank you! 😃
Welcome I’m really interested to see you review this first book
Thank you. If you mean Assassin's Apprentice, it's already up on my channel. It's not the usual kind of review that book gets! I go more into the magic system and how I relate to it as a man in recovery.
Im a gen z'er and I love finding new book channels to watch! I love watching and learning about what different books everyone loves!!!!! Can't wait for more of your videos!!!
Welcome aboard!
Welcome to booktube. Looking forward to getting to know you more.
Thank you!! 😊

Hello, there!🎉🎉🎉
Welcome to the community. I'm so excited to see more of your content, sir!! 😁
Hey, thanks!
A joy to be talked to, not at . Fantasy , as a child , I could escape . I am still escaping at 71. You have the gift of the moment wrapped in memory . Have you ever spoken or written to Robin Hobb. ? Her personal journey in her books is probably fascinating.
I'm not familiar with her personal journey and would be very interested in learning about it. Thank you for the kinds comments.
