    EDIT: As of patch 1.05, this video is obsolete, the wall's hit material has been changed to a regular stone wall.
    Every surface across the entire game has to have a hit material applied to it, so they were bound to typo something somewhere. Just be glad they didn't give it the lava material.

    I believe there's some poison-related part in Prison Town that was cut. Inside the church where you fight Godskin Noble, I was exploring out of bounds offline and got poison buildup on the 3rd floor above the balcony floor. There's no modeled rooms remaining there but I suspect the effect put on some parts of the floor was left perhaps.

      Considering the fact that the Prison Town is the only place you find any form of serpent in the game, not to mention that the church has a giant crucified serpent in the back, and there are multiple serpent-themed weapons that cause poison buildup (Serpent Bow, Venomous Fang) I can 100% believe there were poison shenanigans planned for the area at some point, potentially involving some variant of the Man-Serpents you find littered throughout.

    • @Er404ChannelNotFound
      @Er404ChannelNotFound Před 2 lety +54

      @@tiredcaffeine Look up Elden Ring cheat engine table. The table allows you to explore out of bounds using no-clip, a function that disables gravity and then you can move around using it and clip inside of objects that' have collision.
      Few things to keep in mind though: DO NOT go online with it. Back up your save and only use it offline. Next time you want to get online restore your backed-up save file. Stuff like altered stats can be caught by anti-cheat even if the table was disabled prior to going online.
      Lastly, the extent to which areas load is tied to the pieces of collision you last touch or the game's hidden invisible boxes that inform the game which assets to load, so in the case of this church I loaded inside of the church itself and no-clipped my way upwards to make sure it was fully loaded.

    Hey Zullie! I was wondering about the various Evergaols in the game. Where do they take you when you enter them? Is it the same area, just with the environmental enemies toggled off? Or does it just keep the necessary area loaded for the boss fight?

    • @spiderbug7615
      @spiderbug7615 Před 2 lety +10

      I'm pretty sure it's the same area with enemies turned off, considering that if you die to an Evergaol boss you don't need to reenter the gaol to reclaim your runes, but Zullies the expert!☺️

    • @Scavenger4711
      @Scavenger4711 Před 2 lety +1

      Plopping some Rainbow Stones before entering an evergaol should do it, I think. Unless they get disabled alongside the enemies and whatnot, they theoretically should still be there once you're in.

    • @tenacityxl
      @tenacityxl Před 2 lety +2

      @@spiderbug7615 i was more asking what it keeps loaded. For example, the area around the Evergaol outside the wall is still loaded, but what about beyond that? Is the rest of the map loaded, just without enemies? Or is it just that tiny chunk you’re fighting in?
      I know it’s a bit of a boring question, but I am incredibly curious about it.

    Random piece of advice about rolling through rot/poison and it keeps building up:
    Since it soaks into your clothes, you can use soap like others have said to clean it off. But you can also just rip off all your clothing if you don't have or don't want to use soap. (Or it's buried in your inventory somewhere, so it's faster & easier to go into your equip menu instead.)
    Basically, no awful soaked clothing = no status buildup.

    hey zullie, i've long had a theory about how the souls engines work that involves the distance between the player and the ground. i believe that the player never leaves the floor, even when jumping; this is why you can leap over poison swamps and still receive poison buildup. this also explains why characters can leap up stairs in impossible ways; the engine calculates the distance between the player model and the floor, and when this changes (say, when the player is jumping up stairs), the engine recalculates the height and pushes the player model up to where it "should" be to match the velocity of the jump instead of having the player collide with the next step. as a result, you fly up six or seven stairs in ways a human can't.
    i'd love to see something on this if you find it interesting.
