Hope your car is up and running. I am changing my alternator and belts now. Tip. For installing the first set of pulleys and shims on the hub, put them in position so the small diameter stud goes through the small hole in the rim of the parts. It keeps all the parts aligned together so you can easily install the three hex head bolts. My problem is getting tension right on the belt. It is so tight that the blet sits low between the pulleys and I cannot tighten the belt or it will get pinched by the pully. Any thoughts? How many spacer shims do you have there? I had four but it seems insufficient.
Over a year after all is good back then I put a used belt I had hanging since the original was too tight ordered a proper one & me being me put it off had all the parts in the car just in case and last May on a hot day all lights came on on my dash I knew it, was close enough to drive it off the battery a couple of miles & changed it in no time … holding up good
I’ve done that job man, and unfortunately I had to replace the whole fan!!!
