Any plans to add position of the door into any of your automations? Since the relay can only perform On/Off there is no way of knowing whether you are "Opening" or "Closing" the door. Love the videos, keep them coming!
Thanks Alex! I use a wireless contact sensor which I should have included in video. It's one my sensors I tap into button cell contacts to add a battery pack for long life. With the pair I could create routines but I'll be manually triggering based on needs as well as status reported by my scene controllers and dashboards. I'll be building upon these sensors and Scene controllers in my next video. Appreciate your input 🙂
Tuya can be hit or miss w HA, but I'd like to think it works. And TBH, I return what doesn't work. At that price, it's worth a shot as many different use cases. If you buy, let us know how you make out. Thanks for watching!
@@manicmods I got mine today. It paired right away with my Zigbee Gateway. I am running ZHA, Supervisor - 2023.5.4, OS -10.2, Frontend -20230503.3 and running Home Assistant. If you open it up and go to Configurations you will see 2 switches that you can add to your Dashboard. These turn the relays on and off. You may need to click the Mode switch a couple times to get Momentary Mode for the Garage. This give you a ~650ms pulse. I hooked it up to the garage controller and worked fine. I already have a door alarm switch on the garage door, so I can see when Open or Closed. The only issue is that it double or triple pulses on occasion. Makes the garage door reveres a time or two. Not sure where this is coming from. There is an Attribute off_with_transition which is not explained anywhere. But see no difference with it set to true or false. I will hook up the other garage door on the other relay and should be good to go. Interested if anyone else sees the occasional double puling. Thanks for the video. I should have mentioned that I didn't use any App. It was a direct integration with Zigbee.
