I recommend you following with the voltronwatts fardriver tuning video, as a razor guy I never had this problem with any my1020 motors such as yours. I’ve hit very fast speed with this motors with instant torque and speed.

I've got a STv3 hub, but I have a new Hubitat hub on the way. I did look at Home Assistant, but I quickly came to a similar conclusion -- even as a retired guy, I don't have enough time in the day to learn, and maintain Home Assistant. I'm hoping Hubitat will have fewer annoyances than Smartthings, and have a shallower learning curve than Home Assistant. We'll see in a few months.

My ac comes out cold but when I turn on the ac it makes this weird screeching sound but the belt has no damage. Do you think I should replace the whole compressor or what do you think I should I do ?

I came here to see if HA is better than ST. I have been a ST user since JAN 2023. Samsung has made vast improvements in their UI and the hub runs without a hitch (99% uptime). The ONLY reason I am even looking at HA is because there is a sensor that only works with HA. However, with time I suspect it will become available to ST as well. Unfortunately, the video and conflicting comments are making this decision even more challenging. Maybe I will just set up an HA to see what it can/cannot do and decide for myself. The issues you mention in your video is something that happens to everyone who gets interested in something. Having to write YAML is not a deal-breaker for me, so I don't put much weight on your dislike of it. Coding is really the only way to fine-tune something in the digital world (someone has to do it), and most UIs do not have enough parameters to meet everyone's needs.

ok, yeah, pretty disappointing. you're obviously a smart home guy. which, no offense, but i see this same kind of arguments from photoshop users being recommended gimp. something you're not familiar with will obviously seem daunting at first until you learn it. and i have no idea what version of home assistant you're using but it's nothing like that anymore. need to set up a zwave leviton device? install the zwave addon via the gui in home assistant (no coding necessary) plug in a zwave adapter, pair your device with the adapter (both have pairing buttons) and bam, you're good to go. node red? yaml if then else? who uses that anymore? it's all in the gui. again, no need to edit code. i got 7 minutes in and then i just stopped listening to this hit piece. i came in with an open mind because i like to learn things and see what others have to say, and also don't just use one system in my home. come on man. i'll be giving this a thumbs down, won't be finishing the video and had considered subscribing as the intro was entertaining, but i don't think this channel is for me. good luck.

Thank you so much! I very much appreciate this video. I was struggling to find an adapter that would work with my original Rode Wireless Go and thankfully you had one in this video as an example! I went ahead and ordered the Hollyland adapter. Prior to seeing this video, I was very close to going to the nearest Wal-Mart and purchasing the Apple (I despise Apple so this would've been my only Apple purchase ever lol) USB C to 3.5mm female adapter. What a terrible mistake that would've been. Once again, thank you so much for this video. So helpful 😃 I hope to eventually upgrade to the wireless DJI Bluetooth mic for an easier connection without adapters.

What's interesting about this video is that all the time I've spent with Home Assistant is less time I needed to spend writing my own solution. Not saying you're wrong. If you're a regular dude and start with Home Assistant, it will suck away your life. On the other hand, I don't have time to write my own code to do what Home Assistant does, but that's exactly what I was doing for years until I found out about this incredible project! All I was handling were buttons, lights, and wall outlets; not even motion sensors. Home Assistant opened up the world for me! Sounds like any Hub platform could've offered the same though. A month ago, a Linux update made my whole software stop working after an hour. Instead of debugging all that, I finally switched to something else. Phew! It's actually a load off my hands to learn Home Assistant, and it's much quicker to learn than writing a bunch of code myself. On the other hand, I have to learn it, and that takes time. And you _still_ have to go into YAML files sometimes, especially for Blueprints, one of the most important features you'd wanna write and debug yourself.

I can totally relate. I've spent most of the last few weeks doing Home Assistant and trying to get it just right. There are so many things to learn, and it's hard to find information on how to do things. I guess everyone just uses everyone else's automations, but I want something that works for me.

Has your AC system held up for the past year. I'm really nervous about buying a cheap ac compressor and condensor. I have seen nothing but bad reviews except for the 700$ compressor

The throttle hangs because "follow" is on. Make sure you turn it off before you do the learning setup. Also don't let go of the throttle until the controller beeps at you when you're doing the learn. I have a feeling one of your hall sensor wires is crossed or something. I have that same type of motor and controller and it works fine.

I like that you cut out the back of the cd bin to shove the wires back there. I wish you had showed the final wire hookup though. I don't actually know where the large 3018 plug goes. There seems to be just the one plug that was in that location where your hand is at 16:10, but I'm not certain if that's the case or not. What bugs me is that there is no instruction nor pictures of where to plug in the 3018 harness in any of their installation guides; or at least not the ones provided by Crutchfield from Metra. And, I've watched three videos and nobody is showing that part. I know ; it's obvious once you've done it. Thanks for any otherwise excellent video.

Smartthings matter integration for Lock pro was a bit difficult but eventually worked for me, try the second method of adding matter using code from the settings instead of scanning the matter QR. Now that matter is integrated works flawlessly and makes me want more of Switchbot like these curtain motors

Controller is simply tuned incorrectly by Kunray. Razor guys have that combination (not from Kunray) going 45+mph. Find Ryan Goodyear for all FarDriver Tuning needs. He admins the FarDriver Tuning for Ebikes group. Kunray needs to stick to motors only.

Built that same kit into a razor bike. Those controllers are so garbage. Do yourself a favor and buy the electro and co Kelley KVD. I don’t regret that buy at all but I did melt the motor by overheating it with too many amps. So get a heat sink too lol

what you can do with the automation interface in HA (pure gui no script) is WAY more powerful, easy and clear than any samsung or google or apple interface... try again home assistant, it never failed me

I'm a former Hubitat user myself and I switched to home assistant 2 years ago. I would have done the same if I were on smartthings. You're not wrong, it takes a while longer to get into the .yaml vibe opposed to the out of the box gui modes of the other systems. Although HA is catching up. For me the reason to change is hardware reliability. For smartthings and hubitat I'd have to have a spare hub lying around the house in case of a HW failure, or face a lot of downtime due to unavailability or delivery or... In case of home assistant, I can be up and running on a VM in an hour or 2 while I wait for my new dedicated hardware to arrive. For me that is the most important thing.
