I have spent time in Alaska where we lived in the field for weeks at a time.. With that in mind look up the stats on the Army's 10 man artic tent w/ liner. Compare those to the tent in question. As for the UH 60 Blackhawk 40 yards or less from the tent in the photo. I have worked with and flown in those aircrafts more times than I care to claim. The rotor wash from the main rotor is massive. If Litefighter is so sure of their shelter they should produce a video that can be verified of such an aircraft that close to their tent. Keep up the good work!

It's great hearing you explain the price vs the actual materials. I am a huge fan of exposing fraud done by greedy companies who are taking advantage of peoples ignorance, e.g. sleeping bags. It's basically just a bivy stitched to a duvet, which can be found in some charity shops for less than £10 that would make comfortable all sessions. The stove adjustable sleeves is attractive, but definitely good point about the price. You could probably make a tent twice the durability, twice as big for that price.

Honestly the price is not very surprising. This is about what 8 person expedition tents go for. Hilleberg's blue label Atlas 8 person tent goes for over 4000$ once kitted out with an eight person inner, and vestibule.
That said, I do not think the dragoon is intended for Mountain base camps. It seems more aimed for jungle/desert expeditions, which would explain the multiple HVAC hose ports. I do wonder how 4 season/windproof it really is. It also appears to be single wall from the pictures, which would force you to heat it or deal with walls freezing solid from exhaled moisture.

The price alone doesn’t eliminate most potential customers. It’s the weight. 37 pounds. They’ve eliminated every user who would transport a tent on their back, something I’m sure they are aware of. That leaves either horse/mule (a stretch), vehicle or helicopter transportation options. Once you eliminate a military application (which itself may be very limited), you’re left with such a tiny sliver of the population. It’s essentially the equivalent of a $1M car.

LiteFighter makes some very cool products, but the problem I have with the LiteFighter 1 is that it's too small to have your pack inside with you. This is fine in a military camp where you have sentries and nobody is going to steal your gear because it's all the same, but it's NOT fine in most of the civilian world (think campground or Appalachian Trail). It's also a bit heavy compared to some less expensive civilian tents like the River Country 2.2, which also offers room for 2 people or 1 person + gear. And the LiteFighter 2 is not competitive at all in the weight capacity. That ability to turn it into a 4th season tent is great, BUT there are also some affordable and lightweight functional dedicated 4th season tents out there. Now, to be fair: the weights for both LiteFighter 1 and 2 are not so high as to be unacceptable, and the quality and durability are impeccable. But for any single purpose you can do better with another brand.

Seems like a mini Base X style shelter. Base X replaced the classic super heavy larger military tents from the 40s etc., also incredibly expensive brand new. This is definitely marketed for like a whole crew of expeditioners where they may all pitch in to get the finest available option to sleep together in any environment. For me it appeals as like a straight up replacement for a tiny cabin/home out on the land as semi permanent shelter.

You read my mind about using this on Everest. For that kind of money, it should've been light enough to tote up to ABC or maybe even North Col. I'll be interested to see if they let you review it and if the price turns out to be (somewhat) justifiable or if it's just high-end tacti-cool.

Compared to Large $40,000 Army tents that require 6 people minimum to lift and set up, having 4 of these that can be carried by one person is a great trade.

Alaskan Husky Dog Sled business, hunting camps, outback trail guides, base camp for climbers. This is a YURT put it up and leave it up.....bomb-proof shelter for a stay and play adventure. Business owners could right-off the cost or purchase several for a discounted rate. Appears worthy of consideration for large group activities. Cheers!

I can't see many people buying this thing. Also Luke, I FINALLY found and got my Fjallraven Abisko tarp, Ray Mears got restocked. Thanks for turning me onto it.

I like the tent and yes over the top in cost. But,,, I’m camping and still building on a van and a tent of this size as well as being a hot tent could be awesome. I’m 65 many injury’s due to work and I can’t backpack far. And snow is a no show (backpacking). 6’5” 250 and injuries slowed things down a lot. So the size of this and the capabilities for myself if proven to hold up. May have to dig deep! 😅 If possible I’d like to see up coming reviews on Material, weaving ect. And Thanks for gear review. I take it and the channel seriously.

You can't take a product seriously if they don't have proper documentation. Just on that alone its not worth it. Information is the most important thing about a product, its literally like a contract of what you're getting. Like a menu at a restaurant, its legal binding. The fact they list nothing about materials used, they can use whatever they want anytime they want and its perfectly within their right since nothing was listed/promised.

Hi, Im Martin from the Netherlands, I'm a great fan of your youtube video's.. I spend lots of times in a tent, Carpfishing.. Fishing all seasons, al types of weather..
A good tent is a must.. We use offcause camping gear, like gasstoves etc.. And your topics about food are also always verry welcome. My longest stay in a tent on the water side was 38 days in a row. Had lots of nice weater, but also a coupple of storms and lots of rainy days.. Dhe Dragoon tent, I hope they send you one, so you'll be able to test it. I recently found out how to react on the
video's otherwise I whould have don it mutch sooner. but now I do, so I can ask some questions if I have some..
Again, I love your video's keep up your honisty and your critisisem and Intergrety.. Every CEO of a good company whould want a honest review of their product.

I would love to see an in depth review throughout a multi day camp out in various conditions including desert, torrential rains, mountain top winds and heavy snows. A tent of this caliber should be top notch at all of these levels. I hope to see such a review. Most tent manufacturers are trying to meet market needs for sample set up with comfort, rain resistance in mind. The market for this tent will be very narrow at the price point when the competition is considered.

You would think they would give you as much information as they could at that price. Also, not sure if you mentioned it but, is there any kind of warranty?
The lack of information on this tent has me more then a little concerned. As for this being an eight person tent. If the dimensions given are true then I could see it if everyone slept with their feet to toward the center, like the spokes of a wheel. But with gear that would be very crowded. I hope you get a chance to take this out and do a review.

I’m a truck driver from Texas. With current world politics, I’m growing concerned that something might pop off here in the near future. What gear would you recommend I keep in my truck? For when the stuff does go south and my truck no longer runs because the electronics are all fried. It’s going to be a long walk back home for me at that point and I’d like to be prepared for it. I’m also looking at getting some sort of collapsible wagon I can store in the truck as well.
