Litchi app, is it worth getting and I say - yes!

Unfortunately it is more demonstration video than a tutorial video! Nothing explains how to start and do the basic set up to get the mini 2 flying! Would be very much useful to do a step by step demonstration how to start and get a mini 2 flying in combination with litchi app!Especially for beginners this will and would be very useful!
In which set up we need to start the drone?How to handle this compass error information 🤔 and guide trough the the set up and flying options 😉
Many thanks for your comment and good point. The Litchi app is totally different to the DJI apps and does take time getting used to. A comment like yours, helps me to decide what videos to make and later this year I will make a series of beginner videos on the Litchi app. Many thanks for your comment :)
hi Shaun, looking for a wee bit information, as i said before am going to get a DJI 2, I would like to use my I pad, instead of my phone, it would be easier to see, how do i get my I pad to fit in the holder on the drone remote.
Hi Robbie, you can get a extended clip to hold your iPad but I can't remember the name, but if you put in iPad holder for your RCN1 controller on Amazon, I'm sure it will come up. Not done a video of my DJI Mavic Air 2, which I use my iPad when flying, maybe later in the year, I will show it :)
Does litchi allow planning waypoints for long distances? And can the drone continue the route if the control connection is lost?
Good question, one I've not done but I would imagine the drone would cope but remember the Mini 2 wont fly too far away. Usually with a lost signal (blank screen) the drone will continue its mission. Many thanks for watching.
Shaun, do I need to have DJI Go4 installed to install Litchi? I have a DJI account but can't install Go4 on my new Tablet? Cheers for all your help.
Hi Stephen, yes you still need to have your DJI app installed, just in case. Sounds like you have android device and you will have to go on the DJI website to download the app in Downloads. Many thanks for watching and good luck :)
@@shaunthedrone Thanks for getting back to me, it's most appreciated! I normally use the DJi Go ( on my mobile ) but on my fresh new Tablet install it won't even open up the file? I've installed the Maven Lite and it seems to work ok? But without confirmation I may not get Litchi working? What a mess DJI have caused.?Keep doing what u doing mate.. S

@@shaunthedrone I wish. After my ios upgrade to v12 the apk install fails to run and locks up my tablet! I can't even get to the apk installer. Looks like my only option to flying my Air is with Maven Lite? Let's Hooe any full version of Maven will run. Thanks for your help.
I and many other people on the FB DJI Mini 2 group and DJI forum are unable to get the DJI to install on our phones. I was hoping that Litchi might be an option, but if the DJI app much run first, does not seem to be an option for me, since so far can't get the DJI app to install on Motorola G Pure android 12 or on my LG android 8.1 phone. So far the leading theory is that the phone must be Octa-core processor and Device needs to be 64bit with at least 4gb of RAM
Will Litchi maybe help or must I be able to install the DJI Fly App for mini 2 first?

Hi Dave, because Google have kicked off DJI off their site, it does make things harder but I've had no problem downloading their apps (DJI Fly) from their website. You could try contacting Litchi but I've never had any response from them as I'm waiting for the DJI Mini 3 Pro to work with Litchi as it's been released now. I'm flying the mini 2 se with an iphone 14 plus but when I try to connect the drone to the app it tells me disconnected. is there a trick to getting it to show the drone on my phone?
Unfortunately the DJI Mini 2 SE won't work with the Litchi app or the Maven app. Hopefully with the new Mini 4 drone coming out, there will be an update on the Litchi. Many thanks for watching :)
That DJI FLY APP is no longer in the play store...can I use the litchi app only?
As far as I know, the DJI Fly app is still there as on the DJI Mini 3 Pro, the RC Screen controller is android. Some phones have not got Google any more on their phones as its banned in some countries. You can use the Litchi app on the DJI Mini 2 and works fine :)
You can still get the Fly app from the DJI site.
Fly wasn't in the app stores over a year ago when I got it.
You have to download it directly from DJI. Your device will give you several warnings against this, but AFAIK it's the only way to get the Fly app.

What type of SD card does this need???not in manual I've tried 3 different ones no luck.
I use SanDisk Extreme 32/64gb, never had a problem. Make sure you have formatted the SD before use. Many thanks for watching :)
The card has to have a 3U on it to do 4k
Its Reccomened you use 4k 128gb Sandisk extreme

Does the app let you exceed 120m if your in the uk like myself I want to fly higher
That's a good question if I'm using my Mini 4 Pro, it's already been set to 400ft and the Litchi app wont make any difference. Many thanks for watching.

@@user-by4qi2hi1w I don't know about Mini 2SE as I don't own one so not sure what DJI have done with it. Third party apps wont work with the Mini 2 SE anyway and my Mini 2 and Mini 3 still fly above the 120m if needed where as my Mini 4 Pro has been limited to 120m thanks to EU rulings, I didn't think the UK have set this yet. Ask DJI Support about your Mini 2SE.

What's better Litchi or Maven ??
To be honest, Ive never tried Maven, been using Litchi for years. If it does the same and is cheaper than Litchi, give it a go :)
Does this app void dji insurance?
Good question Kevin and the answer is yes, as its third party and DJI will void it plus check your flight record. I just use it as a back up, if I've a problem with my DJI app. :)
