The best part of the Litchi app, hope you find this video helpful. Many thanks for watching :)
That did not look like it went to plan. From WP1 to WP2 They both focused on POI 1. And when it approached WP3 it pointed to POI 2 but didn't stay there and instead appears to have done a 360 and the same with the rest of the WP's until the end. I'm pretty sure that's not supposed to happen. When you instruct it to point to a WP it should do so and stay there until it's instructed to point to a different one.
@@jerbear197 never had much luck with WP's and I did this route a few times but the app has got better, in the old days with the Phantoms, my screen used to black out (crashed) but would still continue it's flight. Also I notice on both Litchi and Maven apps with WP's the flight is not very smooth. Some people love this mode. Many thanks for watching :)
@@jerbear197 in iOS, The Mission Settings Heading Mode sh/be set to "Auto" - that will avoid the 360 spin.
New to the Litchi app, great tutorial. Now I need to go try it. Thanks
Thank you, glad it's some help and good luck if you use it. Many thanks for watching :)
Another way to set your height or speed etc. rater than playing with the slider - is to enter the exact number you desire in the number display box.
As you experienced, it can be difficult to use the slider to set an exact value - but you can always enter the exact value in the text box to the left of the slider control.
Many thanks for your comment and I will try that next time. Many thanks for watching :)
Very well explained and illustrated Shaun. Much more concise and just as effective as when the same thing is explained in boat training... and when we stop against a solid thing, we are actually on board and ready to drown! Nice one. 👍
Thank you Kev, glad you enjoyed the video. This has been my longest making video I've done. Going back and forward collecting the video clips and glad I've managed to finish it. Many thanks for watching and your support :)
I love the Waypoint missions on the Litchi App. Great tutorial Shaun, I always learn some from your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Ron, glad you enjoyed the video and many thanks for watching :)
If you set the Mission Settings Heading Mode to "Auto" (in iOS), the drone will not do the big spins to the outside of your subject you experienced. Instead it will do a smooth transition from pointing at one POI to pointing at the next POI. It all depends upon which effect you want to film.
Here is from the Litchi Help Guide:
Heading Mode: Defines the heading of the aircraft during the mission. Choose between "Toward next Waypoint" ("Auto" on iOS) where the aircraft will point toward the next waypoint, "Initial Direction" ("Initial" on iOS) where the aircraft will keep the heading it has when the mission is started, "User Controlled" ("Manual" on iOS) where you are able to control the heading of the aircraft during the mission using the left joystick left/right (mode 2) or "Waypoint Defined" ("Custom" on iOS) where the aircraft will use the heading defined at each waypoint. Using "Waypoint Defined" ("Custom" on iOS) also means that the aircraft will smoothly transition from one waypoint's heading to the next.
Thank you so much for your help and I must read more into the instructions - it's amazing mode with so much to do on it than the DJI app Waypoints :)

Great tutorial Shaun 👍😊. I bought Litchi a couple of months ago to use with my Mini 2, having previously used Maven for missions. I do prefer the interface on Litchi and I even use it in preference to DJI Fly for my manual flying. The best bit though has to be the Mission Hub - so much easier than trying to set it up on your iPhone or iPad screen. I do like the idea of visiting the flight location first and making note of the heights & obstacles. I tend to try & use Google Earth or Maps to look for hazards but there's no substitute for actually being there. One unavoidable thing with missions of course is the jitter you get due to the software's 'virtual' stick inputs, but I've found that I can almost eliminate that in post using DaVinci Resolve's Stabilisation option.
Many thanks for watching :)
Love the Video Shaun!!! one question, can you delete waypoints or move them before saving them?
Thank you Larry, yes you can delete them or even move them on screen while putting up each Waypoint. Litchi does give you so much more than DJI apps. Have fun and thanks for watching.
Great tutorials buddy 👍
Thank you Yogi, glad you enjoyed the video. Many thanks for watching :)
Hi Shaun.
Great demonstration of the on-line "Hub" and how well it connects to the controller with just a simple load up. Just one thing I didn't catch. It seems like the POI did not lock but did a 360 rotation instead. Was that a setting somewhere I missed?
I just started using it for my Mini SE yesterday and was impressed with the capabilities.
Anyway, I enjoyed the videography and final product.

Many thanks for watching :)
I don't think you missed anything. From my experience it's not supposed to do that. Once you give a WP a Focus it should stay there until it receives a command to change.
@@jerbear197 I will be doing a comparison with the Litchi and the Maven app to see which one is better or are they both the same :)
Hi , thanks for the video, I have a doubt ,in POI you set altitude , with what reference is that ? Thanks in advance
Hi, many thanks for watching, yes you can set the POI in the setting, always best to do the POI's first before planing the Waypoint mission.
Any 3rd partyapp for mini 3pro
Hi, it's out as Drone Link is doing it at the moment. Many thanks for watching :)
Why is the video of the mission so jerky? Is it actually like this or is it something in youtube? How is it on the current ios at Nov 28,2023. Litchi better keep up with its iOS updates as the new omni sensor drones now have there own waypoints functionality. No need for litchi anymore.
Many thanks for your comment and good to get someone else that has noticed how jerky the mission is compared with the latest DJI drones Waypoints that are smooth. There does seem to be a lack of updates coming from Litchi and still waiting for the release for the Mini 3 which was out last July for testing. Many thanks for watching.
