I can't understand why anyone would give this thumbs down!! So many jealous haters out there. This is pure musical talent.
maybe cuz the bass has off pitch (just a little bit)
Love that 505. Nicely done and thank you.
His Cort sounds fantastic!
The ones that have given a thumbs down. Why don’t you do something better then and get in on here. So we can have our day. I think it sounds great. And good video to. Great guitar playing.
Great video! Love the drop around 2:00 What software are you using with the akai to make the drum sounds? Do you just route into your laptop and then back to the 505? Looking at getting a 505, I have both the akai pad and mini piano. Would really appriciate the input. Thanks!
Amazing im inspired. Just got my rc 505/Fs7/AKAI LPK 25/ AKAI MP 18 😋😍😍😍
Love it!
Great playing - looking to buy an RC505 soon myself. So are you able to plug 2 instruments into it aside from the voice input? My keyboard doesn't have drum sounds so I'm hoping to buy a Novation launchpad which I can plug in too
You can also do very cool things with this rc 505 looper!
Dudee, so good
Very cool ! I would like to know how did u disabled the quantize function ? because when i play a melody the rc 505 quantizes what i played and sometimes it sounds just awful ...
i remmber when i coment this video and i was the 8000 viewer, and look at it now its 176 000 :D well done dude, And i still think the Music is awesome
Good job i love it
So so talented =) Your music really is very swish ☺
Hello ! I have an RC 505 too, and I begin with it. What kind of cable do you use to connect your "piano" to the RC 505 ?
Its so miracle
Hi i recently received my akai mpk mini, and i am curious how to connect it to my rc505. I have the keyboard setup with FL studios. I see you dont use midi inputs but use the firewire. Does your laptop feed the loopstation the audio?
What are good monitors for the entire mix to come put of? Guitars, vocals, percussion....
Could you do an rc-505 setup video? Sounds good bro!
yesss
Yeah, is like to see how you have your loop lengths set up, fx, overdub, etc. You have really good (musical) command of the 505, something I struggle with.
Hey this is amazing and so inspiring! ☺I am brand new to the whole world of MIDI and am wondering if there is a way you can connect a MIDI controller to the Boss 505 without using a laptop? I am trying to create a setup for my live performance without a laptop. Thanks!
props to you
Very good!
Awesome looping, luved it
Thank you! :)
great job man
Bravo !
Much emotions
Thanks!
Good luck!!!
Yes c'est top ça. .juste ton format piano pad tu trouves ça où ? Et c'est quoi les modèles que tu as adapté à ton looper ? Thank's
Excellent !
Thank you Raymeda :)
Hi brother ! Your video is incredible !! I have been watching more videos of you and you do an excellent job!
I was wondering if you could help me with a question about Roland RC 505 - 5, could you use Roland Rc as an audio interface? Or would it be possible to record the Live looping sections inside some DAW like Logic Pro X?
Do you have a video of you putting together your live set up. trying to do a live performance with a piano
midi controller, mic, and rc505 but cant figure out the setup
awesome
I have a few questions about the rc505, is there any way I could bug you for a few questions ?
Wow 😄 This is amazing !!
Thank you :)
🍘🍳🥙🧀🌮🥞🥗🍧🍡🍫🍦🍪🍰🍬🍰☕🍡🍧🍦🍩
so would i be able to use this with something like a saxophone
Nice work! I am using the RC 505 too but with only piano and vocals. Your percussions are awesome! I need definitely work on that :/ Your video is a great inspiration for me. Hugs, ElizaT
Thank you Eliza!! great comment, I'm glad you like it!
Hi ! I also sing and play piano with my loop station RC 505. Which software are you using to pilot your akai pad and keyboard?
Cool stuff dude! Keep it up!
Thank you Konsul! =)
wow gg cool wibe .. thanx
Hey how did you record the mix?
nice mann.. very good flow
Thank you Joko!
I’m really blown away with your performance.
I have a question can I plug in the looper to my Blackstar ht club 40 amp? And make my loops on it?
And also can I connect my microphone to the looper and connected same to the amp? Do let me know thanks a lot! And keep it up!
You can connect your mic to it.
Nice! Roland/Boss should pay you for interesting so many people in their loop station! Same for Akai! Your guitar solo with chorus really reminded me of The Cure. Yes, I'm old! Keep up the good work!
I've listened to The Cure many times, maybe there is some influence there hahaha. Thank you for the comment, I appreciate it 😊
Where are you getting them claps, snares and kicks from? And what is the sound you are using on the guitar called? These sounds are just my type of sounds, but I can't seem to find them. Thanks. This is nice as shit man.
Sorry if you have already answered this, but how are you getting the Akai keyboard to change voices? I know it's a MIDI controller connected to your DAW, but usually to change voices you have to click something on the computer.
How do you change the keyboard patch ?
how do you set it all up? do you need a mixer?
very nice stuff. Keep going :)
Thank you Jo Gi! :)
hi! i have a RC-505 too and love it! but i´d like to know: how did you trigger the record mode for recording when you start playing the guitar? you didn´t press the record buttom.
Hi Diego! It really does not start recording when I start playing (not just like that), but I have the metronome ON in the headphones, and I press the record button before the measure count of the metronome is over and it starts automatically to record. If you watch the beginning of the video again you will notice that I first hit the 'start/stop' button (for the metronome) and then the 'record/play' button so that the loop station knows that I want it to record when the measure is finished. :)
ooohhh alright! thank you!
How did you get it to know when you're done? I always end up with a tad of empty space after my chord which frustrates me so much!
On the last layer (the bass and clap) you only did three measures instead of four but the loop filled in four measures.. Is that a feature of the RC 505 of not having to have every layer be as long as the original (1st) loop??
Красавчег!
Are the akai's connected to your looper directly via input jack? How did you do it?
Nope, since the akais don't give audio themself. I think the audio being looped comes from the audio interface connected to the PC
Hi there. I have noticed when you pushed the recording button, it didn't start recording right away BUT it waited for your first signal to be played while the button light was blinking super fast. How do you set the looper to do that? In my previous looper it had this option and it was called Auto-Rec. Is it what you did there?
good job.
Very good
so sick and inspirational! Quick question: how do you get different sounds on the akai keyboard? Do you program them in? Or are you using some type of software like protools for example?
Yes, the sounds come from a software on my computer 😉
nice work :-)
where did you order this stuff?😧
Amezing :D
Thank you !!
Good stuff brother.
Thank you Thomas, more stuff is coming soon!
so cool! where did you plug everything? :/
Hola Chema! I made a full explanatory video for this purpose czcams.com/video/m8_ZFH8_Hz8/video.html
Check it out!
cool man thank u!
Hi nice tunes does the 505 have sounds for your key board and sample pad or is that running through your laptop through a daw
Hi Andy! the 505 has no sounds itself, the sounds are coming from a DAW on my laptop.
como se llama el teclado que usas?
nice live looping, I just bought a boss rc 505, my problem is when I record a loop. I put the track in read, after the loop I have a silence (blanck) and the reading resumes(track 1), help please
it’s a glitch, the first thing u record cannot be 1 bar (4 counts) long. idk why but it exists
if u like loopstation stuff then look up beatboxing loopstation. its so awesome
At 1:21 you press the STOP buttons at the exact timing, while on the record button you can be earlier, since it waits for the next loop to start the record; could STOP work the same, where it plays until the end and then stops?
Yes, you can do that. But I'm not sure if you can do it with the main Stop button. I know it is possible to do it with each track preconfiguring them. You just have to go to the options menu of the track (with the EDIT button) and instead of immediate stop you choose 'loop end'.
cool! thats enough for me. actually its conenient to still have the option to stop immediately. thanks!
good work man! quick question, how did you connect your keyboard to rc 505? I have RC-505 and AKAI MPK mini. Please help thx
Hi Kirk! Well, I plug the AKAI MIDI controllers into my computer, and then I sent the audio coming from the computer to the input ports of the loop station. If you don't want to suffer latency in your audio signal you better use ASIO4ALL in your DAW! ;)
thx bro. It worked :D
Nice. How many bars can a loop be? Is the maximum 4 like in the video? Thinking of ditching Push/Ableton and going all hardware.
This Loop Station has 5 tracks. You can set each of them to the number of bars that you want individually. It also has the option 'free' measure, so it will stop the measure of the loop whenever you want.
죽인다..
한국이당!
is the Boss RC-505 used to connect guitar to your laptop daw when you play solo ?
after adjusting a song can you retrieve all your creation in a bank inside the looper and is it let you bank all your backing track and play over ?
My guitar is not connected to my DAW. I'm using an effects pedal for the guitar and the RC-505 is just getting the sound of the guitar through the pedal. Everything is recorded in a handy recorder. You can not record the full performance on the looper, you can just keep the loops you have recorded in each of the 5 tracks, recording them in a memory and it will be ready for you whenever you want.
Hey elephant, how is your akai keys changing between sounds? I have one but need to have laptop and protools open to choose sounds
Hi James! I configurated the "program" button on the Akai LPK25 to change between instruments, however it's not working on all the programs. I don't know if it will be possible to do it in Protools. I f you watch my videos you will notice that in some of them I have to change between instruments using the arrows on my computer's keyboard.
nice work buddy.
Thank you Steven!
Is there any type of portable looping stations that doesn't require cables and that can be held under someone's arm when live?
Yes, but they are probably more limited than this one. You can also get yourself a cable to replace the AC conector for a battery. I tried and it works, but wouldn't recommend to make your own cable. For your own safety and the machine's.
Dit is Nice
Thank you Tobias!
Do you need a laptop for this? I mean with the midi keyboard or the launch pad?
Laptop ot tablet (even the phone is a posibility), but without them you can't do much. The midi keyboards need a software to get "sounds on them". 😕
Nice
Good job bro
Thanks man 🙂
Nice!! how do you change LPK sound bass to synth?
I configurated the "program" button on the Akai LPK25 to change between instruments, however it's not working on all the programs. For instance, using Fruity Loops I have to change instruments using the arrows on my computer's keyboard.
oh i see, its like re-mapping controller. thx :)
Good Job
Thank you :)
Is there an 8 bar time limit for each sound bank? I want to know how long each loop can record for before forced to overdub.
Hello James! Thanks for watching my video. I have good news for you. There are three different options that you can set: 1. AUTO (it will overdub when you hit the button), 2. you can choose the number of measures (incredibly it goes to 1000, so no problem), 3. and you also have the option FREE. I tried this one to record a complete song and experiments like this, so I can assure you at least 4 minutes before overdub. I hope I helped you :)
Elephant Moore might have to pick this thing up :)
very nice :)
Thank you! :)
Which DAW are you using on your computer?
I'm using sonar X3 on this video.
1:53 Chuck Norris of guitar pick?
1;42 how you put 2 effect on one time??? I can chose only one effect. A B or C. . How you do that bro
Go to MEMORY > INPUT FX: SINGLE > Change to INPUT FX: MULTI > Do the same for the TRACK FX: SINGLE to MULTI, if you want.
And if the multi option does not appear on your loopstation, then you need to update the software 👍
Bro 10. 00000000000000
Hello please tell me I have a friend who is guitarist and multiinstrumentist and sings too, he want a looper between rc 300 and rc505 ,which one could he choose according to you?
Hi Franck! The RC-300 is meant to be for guitar players, although you can connect an external pedal to the RC-505 to control some parameters with the feet. Both loopstation are really good. IT depends on what your friend prefers.
Elephant Moore OK thanks
which should i buy if i want to play the guitar , beat box and sing :/ 505 or 300 ?
I would say the RC-505. It's 5 tracks against the 3 of the RC-300, it is easier to control with your hands, and if you want to control it with the feet while you are playing guitar you can use a switch pedal or directly put it on the ground.
I use my 505 on the ground, but may get an external footswitch in the future also.
This is amazing, but something about it seems so fake at times. How on earth did the beat stop before you actually click stop? I'm still blown away either way. Good job man! I'm really thinking about getting this
Once the video was recorded I took the audio and removed the last part, then I tried to fix it with some reverb and the last guitar sound, because as you noticed, the loop started again before I could reach the stop button on the looper. That wouldn't have happen if I had a footswitch at that time. I made the 'correction' so that it sounds more smooth and natural. Thank you for watching and for the comment :)
I love this unit but the main problem I see with it is not being able to start/stop/record loops with your foot. I noticed you have to reach over super fast to do anything and it takes your hands off the instrument you are trying to record. It seems to kind of kill the vibe so to speak. Is there any workaround for this?
Hi Jeff, it is possible to connect a footswitch to solve this problem. At that moment I didn't have one, that's why I do it this way haha. But yes, it is possible, and you can set the footswitch to activate almost any button that you want on the loopstation.
Elephant Moore That's great news thanks. I'm a drummer and wanted to get one of these for some electronic percussion stuff I have and definitely feel like I would need the footswitch. Im going to hunt for the manual hopefully it's online free like a lot of Roland stuff.
I think this would suit you more: Roland SPD-SX Sampling Pad. Perfect from drummers 😉
How can I contact you
fukn way dope
how did you sync the midi clock?
Midi is not synchronized, I have the metronome in the headphones and try to do my best in timing ;)
good to know, thank you !
is it easier learning to play the guitar or the keyboard?
It depends on you and the music you want to play (also if you already have a guitar or piano of your own). I'm not a professional player. I encourage you to learn both of them if you can! :)
Elephant Moore ohhh
I already have a guitar , need to replace the strings , I guess I'll continue with that
where is the dude n the couch?
sympa
Merci!
you are extreme level 🔥🔥🙌
Thank you Aniket ;)
Elephant Moore tell your Instagram id
elephantmoore, it's new.
hey man great stuff! i was wondering if you might an email? i have a few questions!
why 4 thumbs down?
Youre really great on those pads! I am currently creating most of my music through the RC 505. I would greatly appreciate it if you could check it out and tell me what you think. Would mean a lot from a fellow musician. Cheers and much love!
