  • I'm finally running the electrical cables in the bus!
    In this video I talk about the cables I'm using for the 240v side of my electrical installation and show how I run them to the power points.
    The system I'm using is the Electracom CMS plug and play system.
    You can buy the parts online.
    You can read more about the CMS system here:

    Being from another part of the world, I can appreciate the simplicity of your 240v system. The plug-and-play connectors couldn’t be any easier, and your method of measuring for cable length was brilliant. Exciting to see it coming together.

    Got a trick for the split conduit - get a ring ended spanner a little larger than the cable - push the ring end into the conduit, push the cable into the ring end and draw it a long.
    Get a cheap old spanner and cut a notch out for your cables with plugs on.

    Fml I wish I knew about those PowerPoints and 240v wiring before I ran all my normal wiring… ugghhh

    There's been plenty of the girl & the bus. I'm here for the dog, as well.

      Pepper struggles to feed cables through narrow spaces 😉

      @@cassieoz1702 Cassie, getting into and out of tight holes is precisely what she was bred for..... to get rats..... ❤🤣 although, it would be good to see her giving moral support 🤣
      Surely, surely, she's not a member of SAG-AFTRA?

      Hahaha @middomaker I'm not sure what breed you think Pepper is but she is definitely not bred for tight spaces! She is a 30kg Wolfhound cross :)

      @AGirlADogandABus lol, she looks a foxy, bred for ratting! Yeah, nah, I can see the error of my ways now.

    I wanted to use foil board on my bus, but is illegal in New Zealand - the reasoning being the foil is conductive and can become live if it comes into contact with wiring.

    • @AGirlADogandABus
      @AGirlADogandABus  Před 3 měsíci

      wow I had not heard that! I knew about issues with PVC coated wires coming into contact with polystyrene but not about the foil itself. It makes sense. There are not many places in my bus where cables are running close to the Foilboard and where they are, they are all in conduit so hopefully I am ok. It's definitely legal in Australia.

      @@AGirlADogandABus I lined my first van with that sliver plastic carpet underlay and blue batts (sound insulation) - worked well.
      Going with wool insulation on this build - just got a 25kg bail of it.
      Loudspeaker builders like it because it is one of the best sound deadening materials, and it is naturally fire retardant - I used to wear wool hot metal safety gear in a steel plant.
      We will see. Should be nicer to install - had to wear paper overalls with gloves taped at the wrist on the last one. 🙂

    Do you have this Plugged into an AC Battery charger by any chance? so you can charge your batteries off shore power?

    • @AGirlADogandABus
      @AGirlADogandABus  Před 4 měsíci

      I have a Victron Multiplus inverter charger which charges the batteries from whatever power is available whether that is solar or shore power
