      I heard Charles Barkley speak on Ja Morant and say how easy it is to stay out of trouble, that the NBA isn’t a real job, but it is. I think that’s the issue with a lot of guys. Is they don’t see it as a job and it is.

      @kareemabdulwahhab6919. You misunderstood Barkley. He wasn't saying those guys shouldn't treat it as a job. He's saying playing basketball is not a "job." It stinks when things dont pan out. If he can become a great perimeter defender and take control of the ball i think he can definitely get regular season minutes for the kings. Unfortunately come playoff time the rotation will shrink and im not sure a poor shooter will work in mike browns heavy 3 pt shooting, guard dominate team.

    Evan turner said it on jj reddicks podcast alot of dudes end up diminishing their career and bouncing out early because they just want to play the right way.

      NO. Talent is king in professional sports, period. Evan Turner never developed range past 16 feet, which is crazy for a 2nd overall pick who plays on the perimeter. He wasn't a great finisher, either, which made him pretty worthless in a league that was becoming all about layups and threes, UNLESS you are so talented that doesn't matter--e.g. DeMar Derozan. You can still put up big numbers and be a star by playing the right way, but you MUST make shots when you finally get the ball. Evan did in his 3rd year in Philly, and he responded by shooting .419 from the floor and being soft on both ends with a PER of 12. You can really see which of the players were soft, because they're the ones who retired at 25-26 because they give up, and now they are in these podcasts saying shit like "I was so upset, bro, I just needed the coach to believe in me..." What? This is pro basketball, man, not AAU. Work harder than the coach and force him to see you.

    • @corduroycrook
      @corduroycrook Před 7 měsíci

      @@ninjachannel007 I think between that time there were plenty of players that weren't elite shooters who got coaches and staff that gave them the playing time to develop. My mind goes straight to guys like terry rozier, regge jackson, and jrue holiday even Lonzo ball really. If you watch the rest of this podcast Mudiay explains how his coach eventually sat him down and basically said even though he's playing better than he should be in the 7 mins hes getting they're gonna DNP him the rest of the season to get their 20 mill a year guy more pt. And thats just it. Outside of being a star it doesn't matter how good you are. There are 400 guys in the league and about 30ish elite players, the rest of them are at the mercy of GMs and Coaches that are gonna pick guys they know, guys they went to school with, and guys that don't mind getting paid less each year to just run around and set screens.
