- Hi welcome to today's vlog on Nong Khai North East Thailand 🇹🇭❤️. Spoiler alert, I love here. If you've watched my vlogs before you will know i love big rivers running through places i visit, well they don't much if any bigger than the mekong. It's huge.
I take a walk through the beautiful and so peaceful Nong Khai showing some of the sights on route to the mekong river. It's such an amazing walk down. Then i stop in a really cheap surprisingly Irish Bar, For breakfast. Onwards to the market there for a quick walk through before finishing off at my new room.

Thanks Kevin, it is a beautiful town and the Mekong is an amazing walk. I can highly recommend coming here for a few days.
If there are no electrolytes available,a small bag of ready salted crisps and of course a small bottle of water is just as good,I believe. As sodium or salt is the main thing our body's needs replacing after excessive sweating.

Very nice Walk about, Serene and Beautiful Town. Love the Mekong River Flowing Along on her Journey to the South China Sea. South of Saigon is large Delta.

Jinxed myself talking about the nhs ended up in the memorial 3am yesterday 13 hours later to be told pneumonia shockin in there. So i needed a pick me up and yes todays vlog to cheer me up. So funny when you were trying to pronounce the names of the fish down the river listening to you laughing😅 cant wait for some warm weather a lovely walk down the river. So funny about tbe sim card top up youve made my day 😊

It's great to be back in Thailand - and it's mango season! 🥭 Whenever you come back to Thailand, I always feel a sense of calm there watching the videos for some reason. I know you love Thailand, too - does this country feel like your second home to you, now?
One thing I never knew was that all the towns call their main market or night-life area "Walking Street."
I love that you climbed the tower to bang the drum.😆
Wow, that view over the river was spectacular and so vast compared to the smaller rivers in the other regions. The mighty Mekong for sure!
Good luck that you got the double room upgrade, too. I could only imagine it is very awkward in the shared spaces.
Have you considered using an esim card to buy and top up online, or is it cheaper for the physical sim through the local providers?

Good morning Greg, thank you very much that’s great to hear. I love mangoes especially at this time of the year, yes Thailand definitely feels like my adopted home, I have loads of friends here and it’s an amazing country as you know.
There a walking street in 9/10 places in Thailand it’s just to identify the main area like in England we simply call it a high st. I do love the drums/bells, that’s being a part of my channel since day one.
The Mekong is an awesome river, that’s also why I love Kanchanaburi. The River Kwai is also an amazing sight, with the bridge running over it also in the city it’s beautiful.
The room was so good to get, I’m going to go back to my own room as much as possible now. It’s so much easier to complete my work and of course have my own space.
The e SIM cards you don’t get as good a reception as you do physical cards so that’s a big factor, also they are cheaper but not much to be honest.

When you are Sharing a room can you not go out in the community areas and do your work if you are worried about waking people up ?
I can but weirdly the WiFi was better in the room, I switched the next night to a double room in the same place.
Yes them fish had funny names, some people had a laugh making them up🤣 thanks mate.

Brill BH monday video richy, that walk and market reminded me of mukdahan a bit further along the mekong river, they have an under ground market beneath the promenade there, pretty quiet around nong khai, just the way i like it, good light breakfast to, 100bht bargain , get yourself a good foot massage and park yourself somewhere nice with your feet up with an ice cold chang, your beating yourself up for nothing , endlessly walking around in 35+deg heat isnt good for you, you were practically delirious at the end of this video , especially when you got emotional at the end, take some "richy time" before you end up with exhaustion or heatstroke or worse dengue as your so attracted to mozzies, i know kanchanaburi reset beckons, but its away off still,. cheers ,..
Thanks Mike, the underground market sounds good. It is lovely Nong Khai, so quiet and I was walking down the Mekong everyday and night. I’ve reset the batteries today I feel great. I never slept well the night before this vlog and I just think that and the heat caught up with me. I had an early night and got a good sleep in a new room by myself not a dorm. I’m gonna start getting hotel/apartments again whenever possible

Yes it’s nice to look at but, I wouldn’t dream of it mate. Also I’m a terrible swimmer ha.
Another tip; when arriving in bkk to surf south east Asia,buy those flagged patches of all the country's in south east Asia and sow them onto your backpack. Even if you have no intention of visiting all those country's,when you tip up in a new one the locals there may think that you are not as green and gullible as we all were on our first visits and therefore,may not try to hike prices as they would assuming you a newbie.

I’ll reply again just in case. I’m used to the heat now mate. Plenty of water and electrolytes and you’re right. There are many Thai food dishes I like, red and green curries are great. I love Khao Soi but that’s best in Chiang Mai area, also Massaman curry is great. Pad Kra Pao is what I eat most because it’s more readily available and really nice too. I don’t see many spiders to be honest and only the odd cockroach.
