Like the ride from Udon Thani to NongKhai, Nongkhai is a great city, always worth to visit. 😊👍🏼🇹🇭
6:07 Unique for Australians-that’s for sure. Unless you go way up North past Darwin, might be able to glimpse some islands of Indonesia on the horizon. Singapore would be a little bit further than this for me, they are across an actual sea strait - Tebrau Strait. Though elephants and tigers apparently swim across relatively easily and Singapore just loves giving them ‘citizenship’. They usually swim back across later on when they realise how small Singapore actually is.

McDonald’s is considered luxury food in Asia. I did buy it for lunch once for my uni project team way back - they were mostly from Mainland China and they actually cried because it is so expensive in China, most only got to eat on birthdays or as a reward for good exam results.

Those steep stairs! Be careful. Remind me of sea ship stairs, some passenger ferries also have them. Older buildings would have these to save space.

Great stuff Ricky. The stupid stuff I notice when I watch vids, you have the letters and numbers on the inside of your front and I assume side windows. I also had that for about 3 years until I realise they just wipe off with a bit of metho and tissue or paper towel. Keep the videos coming mate.

I've been on the other side of that river, Vientiane, the capital of Laos. Remember to try some Beer Lao, it is the best in Asia. My memory is of sitting at a restaurant eating chicken and rice along with Beer Lao ... just watching the Mekong river slowly pass with small boats.

Nong Khai looked nice always good to be by the side of the Mekong. Liked the hotel you picked looked great with loads of character. How long did it take to drive up there out of interest? Good luck Ricky's Mum on the border run I'm sure it will go nice and smoothly.
