Mum made it through! It is mildly terrifying to go someplace where no one speaks anything you understand, the immigration lady was very kind to help her out, you do get that more in South East Asia, just nice people randomly helping you out however they can.

Okay Ricky, I have a few questions. You have mentioned a couple of times about IF you decided to relocated in Thailand. So, what position does that leave you in, now that your daughters own the home? I mean, can you sell it and reinvest elsewhere, and your girls still own? At what age are your daughters legal adults? I know there is much more involved in all this. You don't have to answer it all here, but maybe a video idea. The laws are so different. Keep in mind, that when your girls turn 20yrs old, you'll only be 55yrs and can build another life. Eid seems to have been your rock, and she truly had her goals and dreams together for your future. She had a very nice home built...even by AUS & USA standards.
It's very cheap to rent in Thailand if needed or wanted to relocate. As long as the house/land is in the daughters name it's always there but I believe they can't legally do it anything with the land until the age of 20

Done this a few times. It’s nice and easy. Most people are very helpful there. Yeah when I did it back in 2007 to Cambodia and Laos it was 30 days then they changed it to 15 days when I did it in around 2010 I think. I’m glad they changed it back to 30 days.

3:29 The border areas people do cross a lot and there are border passes people can get if they cross over a lot, usually for economic reasons. We do Malaysia-Thailand and Malaysia-Singapore although it’s way more complicated with Indonesia since it’s a sea crossing except for Borneo.

I wanted to touch the Mekong River too! Legendary! Didn’t do it because at all the small docks in Bangkok there were these giant Mekong catfish just hanging out near the surface-didn’t want to disturb them. I did get splashed a bit in Bangkok on the water taxi, so that has to be enough.

If your mom is 55 years old she can get retired Visa.But she has to show money Eight hundred thousand Thai Baht to Immigration office.Then she can get one year nonemmigrant Visa.

There was a fee to enter Laos plus needed passport photos. 30 days both directions

In thailand : water 1 bottle = 6 Baht.
In Loas : water 1 bottle = 30 Baht.
That would depend on where you are buying the bottle of water. Restaurants/bars/tourist traps/airports can charge a lot more than 6 baht.
It’s always 30day on arrival and then a 30 day extension by visiting immigration office 😊
