Its all good (:
I like the fact that HP still uses memory slots rather than soldering the RAM chip into motherboard.
What's first upgrade when it's slows ? Ram...
Not all of hp laptops have upgradable dim slots.
But I will admit that the hp service team are amazing. You
Yea so u can upgrade it I also once upgraded my hdd, that's why I love up laptops
Those are business laptop. They will murder you if you didn't provide any use replaceable feature such as RAM slots
@@MrWillypanda88 they also makes at least e 1 upgradable slot on Envy and Spectre series and I think that it's an easier way to fix user's problems (except Apple who will sell you a new one...)
Linus: "...you should never, ever, stack a bunch of laptops like this..."
Every IT department: "Is that a challenge!?"
As a worker for a it department... I can confirm this
Same. We've had Elitebooks stacked 10+ high for years with no issues.

@@ppmguire You need to pump up them numbers son
@@pylotlight Short and wide shelving can only hold 10 high. 10 rows of 10 for checkout.
HP is really giving Lenovo a run for their money with this one. Upgradable RAM is huge
Also worth mentioning that the keyboard - same on all the Ryzen/Intel 8th gen and up Elitebook/Probooks - is the best I've ever used. Literally like typing on velvet.
And I've been refurbishing laptops in the past few years, so I know a thing or two about keyboards.
I was waiting for Lenovo 5 14", but damn HP. I hope it won't be out of stock like other amd laptops.
Dude, lenovo have dual channel now. Including their 800usd laptops. I have the ryzen 5 4600h variant.
I had a Elitebook 840 G1 first and it was so easy to upgrade and clean (even easier than G7) and then moved to Lenovo X1 Carbon. The X1 Carbon better quality but less flexible and you pay a premium price for it. I just wish Lenovo would release an X1 Carbon without soldered RAM. Btw Dell also supports upgradable RAM in their Latitude series.
Wait till you find out lenovo owns hp lol, these people are slick.
3:27 the 4750U is 8 Cores 16 Threads, small typo.
That makes more sense, though I was reaaaalllyy intrigued for a second, since didn't know there was a U model above the 4700u. I didn't know if it was some bizarre big.LITTLE configuration or just a typo.
@@Churchgrimm it's possible the 4750U is actually similar to the desktop Ryzen PRO 4750G variant with enhanced security features...
QA asleep as usual
@@randyravener That would be cool. I looked into the Pro desktop APUs just now, and I can see why features like memory encryption would be desirable for laptops in professional and enterprise spheres, if the 4750u does in fact support it.
@@Churchgrimm Its only for enterprise laptops not general consumer ones bcz it supports some instructions required for extra security and some architecture level security features.

"It's so nice to see AMD treated nicely."
*Building a laptop tower*
HP needs to simplify their lines. So much overlap and needless confusion.
These are not theirs. They just picked a bunch of models they know nothing about at a computer show in China.
@@ASPushkin51 wtf😂 no
I used to work for HP and there are a couple of reasons for why they have large product lineups. First, they sell well over 60 million computers a year which means the customer range of needs is wide and varied. Second, larger lineups create variances which make it more difficult for the average consumer to make direct price comparisons between HP products and their competitors.
@@summerrr1 You probably were not exposed to the internal workings of Laptop business. HP comes to the scene when all decisions about design, components, reliability, etc. are already made by Taiwaneese. They can either accept the production model for distribution or pass. Accordingly, if there is a fault in the design, they know nothing about troubleshooting it. It is not a product designed and made by them.
@@summerrr1 So based on that, seems Apple needs to have multiple products lines with at least 18 variations of each. And only then will Apple be successful.

- Glances in the store room at work with stacks of laptops one on top of one another
- Whoops
It's just a bad idea if someone leans on the stack
You should advise someone to store the laptops with a safer method. Laptops don't have a very wide base, they aren't all the same size and laptops are extremely fragile. If that stack falls over the place you work at will be devastated.

Every other repair shop: He dont know what he talking about.
After doing a heap of research I bought myself a Ryzen-based HP Envy X360 earlier this year. Powerful, slick, and upgradeable with no stupid soldered-in RAM. Absolutely no regrets - HP is the premiere laptop vendor for 2020.
If only HP made an x360 gaming / productivity rig
Edit: When I say gaming, I don't mean like high refresh rate screens etc, I just mean like a high powered productivity x360 laptop that has a good gpu
doubt that will happen, don't think we are at the level where we can produce gaming level response and refresh rate and productivity level colour accuracy with touch screen monitors at that size. X360 laptops are pretty much guaranteed to have touchscreens
Yeah I agree with azuresflames, that would be the best thing ever but with that thin frame the heat produced with a GTX would and CPU would be it’s weak point
They do, the Zbook Studio X360 G5, configurable up to a i7-9850H or Xeon E-2186M
Either 1080p60 or 4K Dreamcolor display (recommend the dreamcolor, it's color reproduction is insane)
The best GPU you currently can get with them is a Quadro P2000 though. Gotta make sacrifices to keep them that slim and have decent cooling.
Yeah I would love a 4300U with an MX450 or similar setup in a 14" 360 2in1, would make my day. still hopefull about new tigerlake cpu's with their igpu perf tho, looks pretty solid for a "allrounder 2in1".

Why would you come back and start doing useless things just to get likes?
I’ve never seen an adjustable privacy filter like that. That’s actually pretty cool.
I'm using HP spectre and you do lose quite a bit, as it's quite bad when looking at angles (with the privacy mode turned of), especially when the background is bright (Word, OneNote).
Also, it's not perfect, if the environment isn't bright, you can see very dim image even from a big angle.
All privacy screens are like that tho, the screen quality suffers abit so only get it if you really need it
@@ariuss3009 I am using a Elitebook 840 G5 in my work and aside for some rainbow effect the viewing angels are as good as with a model without the privacy screen. You are right about the effectiveness in bright environment, though.
HP introduced this a few years back
@@sushimshah2896 I would opt out of that thing if I had one of the bigger screens because it affects the screen viewing angles when the feature is turned off. Smaller screens you always are scrunched up next to.
Their EliteBooks are actually really good. I bought one back in 2014 and I still have it to this day. Pretty great laptop, still powerful enough for doing work on the go

Hi
How do we know you're not HP
Oh no, even LTT
"Don't ever store laptops on top of each other" -remembers the cabinets and shelves full of stacks of 4 - 6 new laptops at previous jobs- hmmm...
Looking for am explanation to this... I've never had issues stacking my laptops.. never while they charge though (heat = bad)... but to store? Why not?
@@LiquidZero_ The only thing I can think of is that if you apply enough weight from other stacked devices you can apply pressure to their screens.. but I've never had an issue in my five years of Inventory Management / Deployment with stacking 5 or so devices atop each other while pending deployment or just storing for replacements.
I guess, there are small bushes around the screen that prevent the keyboard keys from touching the screen. Laptops which have been used for some time tend to have these bushes pushed inside leaving the keys touching the screen when closed. They leave marks on the screen which won't go without using some chemicals. Maybe stacking the laptops will increase the aging of these bushes causing harm for the screen
This is very relatable.. We stacked those Elitebooks 745 G6's with 4-5 on top of each other. You did feel them flex a little when lifting them all o.O
@@LiquidZero_ also had issues with stacking laptops where the screen detectors/magnets that detect whether the screen is up or closed have issues. You open the screen of a laptop on top of a laptop and it takes the screen signal off the bottom one, and screen doesn't turn on cause it thinks it's closed.
Those are really awesome! I am looking for a new laptop and my last really nice one was an HP elite book with a folding touch screen, a pen with an i7. These look amazing and I love the fact that they are super easy to fix with replaceable everything!

Oh man don't remind me of my A4-5000 that I used for 5 years
An amd A6 laptop may seem slow to you. But it was miles ahead than i5 6th gen with 2 cores and terrible integrated graphics
If I remember correctly, I owned a laptop with a6-4400m processor. It was amazing. I used to game on it so much. Years later, I would fire it up when my intel laptop wouldn't boot to get some files for recovery. Rocket Lake I7s might actually get 8cores and 12threads, was already possible with the 10th Generation but since Intel has to go back to 8cores/16threads with the I9 RKL cause of Heat and Power Consumption, and the i5 has to stay at 6Cores/12Threads to dont be DOA, Intel is forced to bring a 8core 12Thread I7 😁

intel: WhY yOu BulLy MeEeEe
This is probably one of the cringiest comments I’ve seen
@@MrDerek-km6xw Its ok.
@@MrDerek-km6xw Do you need a safe space?
After doing a heap of research I bought myself a Ryzen-based HP Envy X360 earlier this year. Powerful, slick, and upgradeable with no stupid soldered-in RAM. Absolutely no regrets - HP is the premiere laptop vendor for 2020.
@@MrDerek-km6xw It's ok if you don't like it, i'm just vibin'
I was just thinking. "Huh, that would make a great replacement for my old thinkpad."
Then I saw the price
HP Prices are kind of all over the place if you check out their site. Still selling a 8th gen i5 laptop for 1600 dollars seems a bit off doesn't it? While the 845 g7 is about the same price in euros.
these ultrabooks are waaaaay to expensive for what they offer. hp themselves have compepitors in their lineups. I have an hp pavilion gaming laptop 15. it has a ryzen 5 3550h and a gtx 1050 3gb. it was only 700 dollars in best buy and I got: all the ports I need (barrel jack 2 usb a 1 usb C audio combo jack, Hdmi, sd card reader, ethernet jack) that bang & olufsen speaker. 2 ram slots, an m.2 slot and a 2.5 slot, A DEDICATED GPU , a backlit keyboard. a nice screen, beefy cooling, an awesome keyboard with numpad, and the design is reasonably thin and light, it's somewhat like the 3rd laptop but with a wider screen and it also doesn't scream gaming, it's sleek black and the color accent is in the backlight that you can turn off. It basically has all of the nice things that the laptops that linus showed have. but it's way cheaper and has a dedicated gpu. I'm sure that they'l update it with a 4th gen and a 1650 or something
@@XxmatixX6videosdiariosdenadav thanks for your info, a better option and not so expensive
I actually use one of these all day every day for work, love it. It doesn't start to chug too much until the spreadsheets get into the 60,000 row range...
0:48 i stacked my laptops once, the corners and edges of the display of the lower one have huge white thingies.
I’d love to see a video on how they manage all of their review inventory, review schedule, shipping / receiving stuff that’s only a loaner, etc.
16:9 screens on laptops cannot die quickly enough.
Yeah, I also can't wait for ultrawide 21:9 notebooks.
@@janhrdinka200 uhm why
@@cyko2328 I guess more screen space for double window productivity. But the uw screens are probably gonna be 1k up
@@gpsdoc2222 i agree but like its going to be a very long laptop
🙈🍫🍫
I like that simple design and easy to maintenance damn thats realy good, i cant forgot the memory slot that is rare to see these days
In the company I work for we probably have deployed around 30 ProBook 440s (of varying G#s (generation numbers)), and have been overall happy with them. From a design standpoint I like the newest G7 model most.
Somebody is taking AMD seriously... finally! :)
But we need XPS to do that
and intel to do that and give thunderbolt support 😂.
Thunderbolt 4 and USB 4 are the same thing now. So in the future this will be solved when AMD implement USB 4
@@katech6020 I was about to say that
In future USB gonna be more speedy than TB
S Karthik actually isn’t there a Lenovo with tb3?
@@katech6020 good cuz wendells expose on clarifying thunderbolt revealed it to be more confusing (TB)
1:30 Linus looking at the HP supervisor in the room. :D
Forgot to mention an important feature for business laptops. The Ryzen chips doesn't support Thunderbolt for common Dock support :(
i got the 845 g7 from work and have these things to updates about potential quirks & w/e
-security screen mode is actually super useful if you use your laptop in public often. one of my favorite features.
-great nub and clickies! but then my clicky mouse broke. the touchpad isnt good enough to make up for it.
-one of my usb cs has never worked
overall if anyone in this comment section wanted a laptop in this range, idk if i would get this one at its price, but i really like it.
3:25 8 core 12 thread, that's new
Me: has only HP computers Also me: neat
Now that I think about I’ve never seen a kensington lock being used other then in stores
Woah! That privacy screen button is very interesting.
