  • Nearly a third of people say they feel more depressed about the rising cost of living than they did six months ago, a Sky News poll reveals.
As households face squeezed budgets and with the government under pressure to tackle Britain's worsening cost-of-living crisis, we asked people how it was affecting them and their families.
If you're affected by any of the issues raised in this report, the Samaritans are available 24 hours a day on 116 123 or by email at jo@samaritans.org in the UK. In the US, call the Samaritans branch in your area or 1 (800) 273-TALK

The longer this cost of living crisis continues, the more people are going to die from mental illness. As someone who has struggled with mental health, my heart goes out to all those who are not able to cope at the moment.

It's really bad. Like really beyond control now. Maybe it's a good thing we go to war. At least we will get a ration pack. Cos I wouldn't misbehave and go to jail.but thefts must be going through the roof now. The authorities will be powerless to stop anarchy once it kicks off big time..and it will soon.

It’s not even down to improving the services, it’s more to combat it in the first place which everyone seems to think it’s some kinda of virus that’s contracted when it’s something as simple as societal problems. Societal problems being the fear mongering news (like the one we’re commenting on and pretending to care), failing education system and just damn straight lack of compassion for each other with our peers with everything being conditional. They want this mental health crisis, it can weaken our population and makes us less powerful to combat a corrupt government like the one we have now.
