  • Sky's Ashish Joshi has been to Blackpool where many residents have to decide between heating or eating, as the cost of living crisis continues to hit the Lancashire town.
    The government says it is acting to help the most vulnerable communities in areas like Blackpool.
    A spokesman said: "We are already tackling health disparities in the North West of England - including working to reduce drugs-related deaths in Liverpool and Blackpool, supporting struggling families to give children in the poorest communities the best start in life, and addressing inequalities among some of the region's most vulnerable groups, such as homeless people, prison leavers and sex workers."
    He added: "We will set out further action through a white paper later this year."

    The poor man in the beginning will perish and die before this year's end if he doesn't get help from the authorities.
    How can it be so dire in the UK, a country in the West? We are experiencing somewhat higher energy prices in Sweden but not by much and our energy prices has always been lower than most countries so we are ok. Everyone eats as usual and no one is even remotely close to shutting down the heating here, the price of food is pretty much the same, our equivalent of the NHS is working excellently and there are no backlog or queues for surgeries. The inflation is somewhat higher but that goes for all countries right now, it has not had any effect because the government is handling it in order to minimize the consequences of it.
    Nowhere in Western Europe does it look even close as bad as it does in the UK and I wonder why, the people of the UK probably do too so please scientifically analyse it and explain it, Sky News.

    • @stevecallum7933
      @stevecallum7933 Před 2 lety

      Its bad here because our government are trying to take us back to the 1800's when elistism and class segregation was rife. The Conservative party are only interested in the rich and really do not care about the vunerable and the poor or those on lower wages. They have only one slogan and that is "We are alright so fu*k the working masses" They have always had this view and these days they are more cruel and cold hearted than ever. I am British, but I am ashamed of my country. Boris Johnson and his party have made us the laughing joke of the western world and they will not suffer. It's only the working classes who continue to suffer because the Conservative party have no hearts and no compassion. There is no science needed in the analysis. It's plain simple cruelty.
