Nice video man. But just a minor criticism, you should show more than a second of the finished painted door at the end. People wanna see the final result on these things.

Yeah, They painted it after I left and that was the clip I was sent. I'm going to go back and install the book latch and touch up the drywall around the casing and I'll update with another short video showing the final product.

Great video, but did you really pay almost $2000 for particleboard?

Ha! So that is a good point, yes there was probably less than 200 dollars worth of material in the kit. But! It was all precisely designed and cut. My friends do not have any wood working tools and I only have so much time in my life to help others with a project. It would have take me several hours if not days to come up with a design, make the measurements, go pick up the sheets of MDF (while borrowing a friends truck) make all the cuts then figure out how to assemble it without the instructions. So instead of a day project. It would turn into a week’s project. How much would it cost to higher a contractor to build this for you from scratch? So while it does sound expensive for the materials you are getting. Unless you can do all the work yourself, it’s really not terrible!

Those side boards should have been 2 inches shorter so u could’ve attached that to[ board to the shelf also and that would’ve got rid of the small gap at the top

I see what you're saying. So the top piece would move with the bookcase like the side piece does? Then you'd have to dress up the space above the door jamb as well as the space along the side.
