How to Make a Secret Door Bookcase

When we played our first escape room and found a secret passageway, our minds were blown! It felt like we were in a movie. Now, we get to design our own for our escape rooms. Making secret doors and secret passages and seeing our players reaction to them is one of our favorite parts of designing a game.
Some hidden doors are very complex but there are easy ways as well and we wanted to share some our process with you. We skip the bookshelf building step (sorry!) and get to the good stuff of how to actually make the bookshelf a secret passage. To make life really easy, you could buy a bookshelf that approximately fits your door and cover up any gap with moulding.
Because our secret book shelf is for an escape room, we're ok with a seam or two showing because we can finesse it with lighting and decor.
