My aunt went to high school with John Leguizamo and I remember her saying “The Pest. That’s the perfect name for a movie with him”
Jackson Hights
😂😂😂😂
Yikes lol
Burn!
I met someone whose parents went to college with weird Al yankovic.
Do you know what they said about him?
He's a beautiful human being who is kind on the inside and out, and he's a wonderful person and I'm very honored I got to be his friend. He is a very creative and kind soul.
I read on Wikileaks that the military used this movie to torture the prisoners at Guantanamo Bay.
That is What They Get For Watching The Pest
The Pest offers us, if nothing else, a rare glimpse of Miami when it was between the cocaine boom of the '80s, and the rise of meth in the early 2000s.
you shore do know alot about Meth hint hint sniff smoke lol u
I don’t think everybody was addicted to cocaine in the 1980s and not everybody was addicted to meth in the early 2000s. And hate on the 1980s all you want, but, the 1990s and 2000s for the most part is very nostalgic for me.
@@HeatherAngus-vj2jqYou sound like the whiniest Gen X loser ever 😂
The Pest is one of those movies that used to play on The Movie Channel back in late 90's. I admit I love it as kid back then.
Me too
@@KhayJayArt this was definitely one of my favorite movies in my teenage years. stupid as all hell, but goddamn man, was it funny!!!
Same here, everytime there was a free preview weekend, The Pest was aired and watched every single showing lol
Yup lol. My mom hated it too lol
I mean, I liked to eat my boogers as a kid, so we're one in the same
The Pest realized that he was wrong all of this time and decided to change his attitude, after he met John Wick
Obvious ass joke
Now all I need is a Monkeybone review to complete the trifecta of bad
SammichQween Throw in Foodfight for some animated spice and flair, then you've got a deal.
@@sharonspears-mandeville2369 I need to hear Billy laugh and audibly gasp at the levels of bad in food fight... Then, and only then, well I truly be complete.
SammichQween damn right!
They must review this
@Brandon Brooks Both would be great choices
In Hell, this is a double feature with Cat in the Hat. If you're really bad, you also have to watch Carrot Top in Chairman of the Board!
Chairman of the Board was bad when I saw it 15 years ago. I could not imagine a re-watch.
@@dustykenney2077 Chairman of the Board would be the third horseman of the apocalypse behind The Pest and Cat in the Hat. Watch all three of them in chronological order, and you'll open the portal to hell.
@@JeonardShadby505 what's the 4th? Jack and Jill?
I think Freddie Got Fingered should be the fourth horseman.
@@Hinatachan360 Nah, Freddie Got Fingered was ahead of its time. It’s aged well. Absolutely hilarious if you like weird Adult Swim type Tim & Eric stuff.
10 seconds into the movie and you're like:
*Hello darkness my old friend*
This comment 🙌🏿
Not gonna lie I have a soft spot for this film. Loved it when I was in the first grade. Dunno what the hell I was thinking lol.
Hey man continue to enjoy it..if it makes you happy thats all that matters
You were a 1st grader...kinda explains everything. I haven't seen this since I was in 3rd grade myself
I was in 7th I think. This movie was hilarious, still is. When I’m stoned 😏
I still like it .... Ik it’s dumb .... but damn it I have a soft spot for this movie .
I'm glad I missed this movie but I can see why a 1st grader would like this. It's so cartoony
"The Pest always has to be the center of attention...even when he's hiding..."
You know it's a good review when Billy lets out that signature laugh of his...
It's why we love these DT movie reviews lmfao
Man, he laughs like that watching CSPAN2.
Ironically, John Leguasamo made the movie to get attention from his estranged father who envisioned the John making the movie in the future causing him to leave their family
It's akin to building a makeshift lighthouse by blowing up a nuclear reactor.
That is Ironic on So Many Levels
This same year, John Leguizammo played a _literal demonic Clown_ and somehow, _this_ is the more ridiculous/ scary performance. Thing is, his actual _performance,_ while annoying AF...was actually pretty good... or rather, I never got _bored_ watching him on screen. *Annoyed,* yes... but never bored.
Spawn?
Spawn.
....spawn
He played the mess out of that role!!!
You tried wayyyyy too hard to sound as sophisticated as possible in your comment. 😂 Fancy bold and italicized text to top it off.

I love this movie so much. So many hilarious memories man.
Jesus Christ 😂
So he covered errbody 😂😂
@@TrekCannon Yeah with all this i'm surprised they spared the indians
I'd like to imagine in the world of the film The Menu, the film Ralph Fiennes is talking to Leguizamo about, Dr. Sunshine is actually this lol
*I bet the script went to Adam Slander first.*
This was too goofy even for him
I have a feeling this is one of Adam Sandler's favorite movies
I literally laughed out loud at this comment 😭😂😂
I know he looses sleep at night knowing he didn’t get to direct an star in this film
For real
Imagine if John, Adam, and Marlon made a movie together
@@djcollins8843 That combo would not knock the earth off its axle
This was one of my go-to VHS tapes when I was a kid. I acknowledge that it's hot garbage, but I can't separate my nostalgia. In fact, I think it's time for a re-watch.
Check out "Its Pat: the Movie" also a supposed terrible film thats really funny
Yep Pest killing those guys with his bass system was the funniest part. 😂
So this is essentially the Puerto Rican *Freddy Got Fingered*
Yes it Sure is and I Bet He Made a Beg With it The Director & The Producers So He Can Go Crazy With His Stereotype Characters
Korey's face @ the 32:34 mark is pure comedy genius
Absolutely
The pest
Well, the title didn't lie about what this movie was.
I love when you guys start the bad movie reviews off with Billy laughing his butt off
His laugh is so goddamn contagious.
@@chrism2887 It's what I live for now...
Its annoying
His laughs are mostly fake though..
I hate loud fake obnoxious laughs especially every 3 min. Starting the first 3sec with the mouth equivalent to firecrackers in the middle April😂😂 i wish there was a Playlist with just Martin/Korey so I can watch without the human equivalent of a car alarm going off. Love you from a distance billy
Ain't gonna lie, I loved this movie
Don’t think I could handle it now, but back in 98, this was my shit
WHY?
Same.
Need to review The New Guy, that's a double toast worthy review
Man, The New Guy and Malibu's Most Wanted are ripe for a BMR lol
Just for the bathroom scene alone
All I remember from The New Guy was when he threw the flaming marshmallow to his dads eye
@Bee Boo Hates Sensitive Vermin what u talkin bout
Aye hold on the new guy is a classic bad movie I love that movie
John Leguizamo is very brave to stand behind this abomination of a movie
Billy’s laughter is quite infectious. Continue on, Billy.
7:22
@@brandonspain12345 absolutely my friend
I blocked this movie out of my memory. That's how bad this movie is as a comedy, but that subwoofer/bass "Spank It" scene is the only part I remember laughing at.
From The Pest to John Wick well played Mister Leguizamo
And Mando Season 2.
The crazier thing is that he was benny Blanco in Carlitos way with al pacino 4 years before this movie.
Every time Billy laughs a new bunny is born. 🌼 🐇 🌻 🐰
People saying "Where is Cancel Culture for this film?", I mean - when Theatres pulled it after a week I'd say it got cancelled pretty fucking bad.
You need to review Malibu's Most Wanted I would love to see your reactions to it.
I love that movie
Soon to become the real life story of Patrick Girts. Or Chris Herman.
I watch these just to see Billy lose it xD
This movie has the *Greatest Opening* I've ever seen 😂😂
32:47 " Where you gonna see. . Shakespeare combined with farts combined with nature films?"
Answer: The Lion King 2019.
yes, you guys finally reviewed my request lol
Great request
35:48 - Death by Brown Noise. What a way to go.
So it wasnt the Mario Bros Movie (but this movie) that killed Leguizmo's movie career then.
He was always a clown in his early movies but he made up for it when he got older with good serious roles.
What’s crazy to me is he was literally doing Shakespeare right around the same time and doing it WELL. It’s insane to me that the same guy who turned in a really good performance as Tybalt is the same guy who wrote, produced, and starred in The Pest. It’s frustrating because he HAS talent.
"He's a farting Dracula named Stinky Dinky... STINKY DINKY!"
Still one of the best roasts in DT history.
As a kid, I loved this movie, thought it was so funny.
This and Master of Disguise share the award for worst movie I've ever seen and I've seen some BS in my 42 years
The worst movie I've heard of/seen footage of is this poorly made horror film called 'Ax Em' there's an excellent review of it on CZcams if your interested (by The Cosmonaut Variety Hour).
Finally I find someone on CZcams that's my age. It always feels like I'm among kids that are 20-30 years younger than me.
@@kaylemkerr6989 Is Ax Em considerably worse than "Violent Shit", ot "The Bloody Video Horror That Made Me Puke on My Aunt Gertrude"?
@@Kaefer1973 I don't know.
Master Of Disguise makes The Pest seem like a masterpiece.
Billy's laughter in the intro is nothing short of amazing!
I see people love fake loud and Obnoxious alarms going off in their ears 😂
This is the best bad reviews episode I’ve ever seen!!!😂😂😂🤣😂🔥💯✊🏾
Yeah all their bad movie reviews are great. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I know yet this was the one that not only had me in tears from catching every detail. It also has me thinking that why did Hollywood give that man $17 million dollars to make that piece of 💩 when there’s wayyyyy better filmmakers on iPhones who can do better than that.
@@SterlingStarksIzHere What funny is that it was made for 17 million and lasted in theaters for only a week and made back only 3 million. 😅 😂 😆
@@SterlingStarksIzHere Why? Because for better and for worse ( in this case MUCH MUCH worse ) Hollywood is crazy
The Pest*😉
Do a bad movie review on the three Italian animated Titanic movies (the legend of the titanic, titanic: the legend goes on, and tentacolino)
definitely a product of the 90s
Nuff said
It’s amazing how so many of these films in the 90s even made it to the big screen then again direct to video didn’t even exist then
@Ralph Wiggum [laughs in Puppet Master]
He’s Colombian, not Puerto Rican
True but doesn't he sometimes describe himself as half Puerto Rican (I think due to his grandparents being from Puerto Rico)? I know there was some back and forward between him and his dad because of this.
The character is Puerto Rican
they really thought he'd be the next jim carrey
the irony is, he kinda is...
The only thing is, John can pulled off dramatic roles a little bit better than Jim Carrey.
I don't know about that Marcos.
1 stinky dinky, 2 stinky dinky, 3 stinky dinky
My God this film is unbearable! This is worse than "Cool as Ice!" That's saying something! This is John L.'s WORST thing he has EVER done!
Where's my Neil Breen review y'all??? 😭😭
This is such a guilty pleasure of mine. Even as a kid I recognized it as bad. I remember thinking as a 7 year old kid "this should be a tv movie because it's not good enough for the theater". But I have seen it dozens of times. It's craziness just resonates with me as a adhd Latino especially as a kid lol
that explains a LOT. he has a super creepy face and always playing a villain. havent seen him in films for YEARS. now i know why
It was weird growing up cause I was 12 when this came out and was like "wtf he's horrible" but around the same time I saw his one play Freak and instantly John Leguizamo was my favorite person
Ditto! Freak was the best!
Did anyone else hear that sound at 18:20?
Yeah that was Michael Trapson trying to contact Korey, I know that from watching the unedited version on Twitch.
They must not be aware of what made Jon famous. He was a kinda stand up entertainer. He would play many, many, many different characters. He was very talented at it. This was his first movie after finding stardom. Most stand up comedians have corny first movies. He was more a performer and did the same. Not a fan of him these days but he found a unique way to stardom.
Oh my god The Bubble Factory...the same studio that made the movie A Simple Wish lmao 😂
Nostalgia Critic: FUCKIN BUBBLES
That originated from commercials.
🤣😂😂
They should review "to Wong Foo, thanks for everything! Julie Newmar" eventually. Korey,Billy and Martin would make 1 funny AF review out of that 1. lol
That movie was good compared to this.
@@EvansSt83 that is true lol
It wasn't a bad movie at all. Maybe it can be a Retro Review.
Did he say...Count Funkula....I died after that...LMAO
I swear this movie played on a loop whenever I was home sick from school as a kid.
Finally, don't have to sell my humanity to see a nostalgia critic video about The Pest
So glad the double toasted boys made this too
Well said lol
This DT review is leagues better than the NC review.
@@JeonardShadby505 I didn’t even know NC made a review for it.
@2005 Cool Year here's that reddit gold you begged for
You know you're lying: if you didn't immediately search "The Pest opening sequence" right after watching this.
I didn't need to.....I still remember so well lmfao
I considered it lol. And later did.
I never did...
Until I saw your comment.
Hell no. What they give me here is more than enough lol
That song is catchy as hell
Those were some damn good laugh for a movie you hated. I think somebody secretly enjoyed themselves.
Give him a break guys lol. This was Jim Careys heyday. Somebody had to try his shtick.
Jim Carrey has never acted this stupid. And he's acted pretty stupid.
@@johnnythewalrus 😂😂😂
I've always known of this, and I may have seen it in Blockbuster a few times as a kid. But I never watched it.
Me too went past it
this movie was a guilty pleasure for me 😃
14:20 martin described this whole movie in a nutshell
Man, I loved this film but I can understand their points. I know they corrected Korey but I’m pretty sure ever superhero movie has a moment when the superhero’s powers are inconsistent. I know it’s a silly thing to critique for a superhero movie but that’s honestly my biggest gripe with all of them. It just feels like the superhero is never in real danger because you know they will use their superpowers even if it’s inconsistent with what they’ve shown us.
Yeah, that thing about John Leguizamo being Puerto Rican :D : "Research by the genealogy show Finding Your Roots indicated that Leguizamo does not have Puerto Rican, Italian, and Lebanese ancestry, as he has sometimes stated. According to Leguizamo, his surname is of Basque origin and he has distant Basque roots."
This movie is so, so terrible and I loved every second.
1997 I was 10 years old, and I don't remember this movie coming out at all. Never saw this movie, but I'm probably better for it that I didn't lol 😂!
2:50
That man flew!!!!!! 🤣
Please please please review Samurai Cop arguably the greatest bad action movie of all time 🙏🙏🙏😅
Hell yeah! I’d love to see a DT review of Samurai Cop
They Already Did
John leguzimo was a comedy legend don't know if I spelled it right but you get the point
Wow I just realized the intro for the characters he does has to do with his scams
“Cancel culture isn’t real bc this movie exists” except this came out in 97 and was on no ones radar then let alone now.
Correction: Jerry Maguire only came out less than a couple of months before this one. That was released in December of 1996, while The Pest was released in February of 1997.
1997 was something else with these kind of movies.😂
I can imagine lots of people (and especially kids) liking this as it has very crude humour and plays on every stereotype possible.
I walked out of the theater before the shower scene ended.
John Leguizamo Puerto Rican 24:32¿? He's Colombian! lol
I blame y'all for introducing me to this shit. Now I got the dumb opening rap constantly stuck in my head.
Honestly George of the jungle movie is sane compared to this
I actually really like that movie
I saw this movie once when I was younger. It was on tv on a late Friday night/Saturday morning. I remember! Lol Loved this review btw! Very hilarious!
The Pest is totally worth it, because it brought us this review, which had me in tears. I love it.
Corky Romano of the 90s.
John Leguizamo made me reexamine how I feel about Steven Seagal.
Next can y’all review undercover brother 2
Yes lolz
I'm sorry what....
There was a 2 ?
Oh my gosh. I just looked it up. It's real. I love the first one. It's no classic but I'm not going near the sequel.
They made an undercover brother 2?!?!
I made the mistake of watching the intro and i can confirm it's without doubt the most annoying thing i've ever seen
I can't believe anyone doesn't like Billy's Laugh, it's fucking amazing lmfao
thank you for the review.
I had sent an email asking for a review of this film, I waited to see it.
I feel like this movie did a lot better in Canada. When it hit video stores I remember everyone in my town talking about it and quoting it. The teacher even played it in my 5th grade classroom on the last day of school because there was nothing else to do! It was a Catholic school as well, so weird
Three bad movie reviews in three weeks. What a nice Christmas gift the DT crew is giving us. 😎 🔥 💯 🎁 🎄
I dont know why but i love this damn movie!!!
Yo that shower scene was CRINGE... hold up it’s just the opening credits? Wow lol
6:27 to be devils advocate the "cape" is actually his (probably brothers) towel held by one of his moms hair clips that puerto rican moms litter the sink top with.
Billy was simultaneously annoyed & amused by the stupidity. Never thought I'd see it.
People want to say that being too offended is what's ruining comedy except just because you're trying to be offensive doesn't automatically make it funny. That's why we end up with alot of bad sandler films and movies like this, soul man, and airplane 2
Delicate feelings hurt?
That intro song still stuck in my head
@Double Toasted:
I don't know if you guys realized this, but 2022 marks the 25th Anniversary since "The Pest" came out
