- WWE Superstars Were Forced To Change Their Own Wrestling Finishers
Topics Discussed In this Video:
1. WWE Finishers That Had to Be Instantly Changed
2. WWE Finishers That Were Too Dangerous
3. WWE Wrestlers Who Changed Their Finisher After Injuring a Wrestler
4. WWE Superstars who were told to change their finisher
5. Wrestlelamia - Zábava
In fairness to that pedigree, Marty jumped too high because I believe he thought Triple H was giving him a Tiger driver
Yes, I believe the part that changed the most from the early to later pedigree is hhh kept the arms hooked all the way to the ground, so everyone was taking unprotected chest bumps and now he releases them basically as he's jumping up
True. I don't like it when Wrestlelamia straight-up lies just to get clicks.
Agreed. The Pedigree has been the same throughout. the botched version you showed in the video was just that. .a botched version where Marty jumped for the wrong move, (and also tucked his chin) although I have always thought a worked version of that "botch" would make an awesome finisher.
@@Alreezy They always lies about everything and they're heavily Biased to get any views at all
@@Aracore If it could be done without risk of injury, absolutely.
So Vince wanted the Curb Stomp removed because he thought kids would try it?
Kids have been suplexing, chokeslamming, stunnering and RKOing each other for decades now.
Dare I say some of those require strength that kids don't have. Any kid can kick a skull into the ground
Honestly this is the one time it made sense
@@Meatman8089 That doesnt matter, the point is that kids try them, and thats the dangerous part. Hell, I nearly broke my own neck doing a DDT when i was a kid
You forgot the pedigree. My cousin made me eat dirt with the pedigree when I was little xD lol
I remember my Brother did the Last Ride on me and i got a massive headache afterwards and no it wasnt a concussion 😂
Its important to mention that the guy who broke his neck from the pedigree, sold it incorrectly since he thought it was a piledriver type of move
Hhh concussed kurt angle with pedigree
Wait, wait. I thought he thought it was a double-hook power bomb🤷🏾♂️
@@gejamugamlatsoomanam7716 that was due to the announce table collapsing unexpectedly
Man, you guys are good. Really, INK. 😎
@@gejamugamlatsoomanam7716no the announcer’s table collapsed before the move even happened
Honorable mention: Nikki Bella (Rack Attack). Nikki's finisher was originally a back breaker rack. But due to the strain the move had on her neck, hence her neck surgery, the finisher was changed into a TKO renamed Rack Attack 2.0.
She was a terrible wrestler. She injured herself by constantly botching the suicide dive. Not with the rack attack. Brie Bella was also severely hurt by constantly botching the suicide dive as well. Neither of them were good in the ring.
@@RojoCube only one that's more terrible is you for not doing the moves right
@@mister54336. that doesn't make sense. I'm not a wrestler.
@@RojoCube Talent is not sexually transmitted
@@RojoCubeOMG, thanks; that's my first laugh of the day! 😂
The Curb Stomp - WWE were worried about concussions so Seth Rollins was forced to drop the move & use The Pedigree.
Wasn't it like very safe and they dropped it for fear of kids reproducing the move and getting someone hurt?
@@averagefalloutenjoyer123 Aye they were. If it was because of concussions it would never have come back but the fact is that it was point of hot contention in the company on whether he could use it or not but in the end sanity actually won out and he got it back.
Nope. They claimed that they didnt want kids Googling "curbstomp" and seeing American History X. Dumb boomers.
Hell no
I hate when people use THAT Pedigree as an exeplme of unsafe one, it was a botch, an very rare (i believe the only time) it happend. Thats like using Owen piledriver to Austin as an exemple for a standard reverse piledriver.
Owen Hart almost cost WWF their biggest draw. Typically everything he does is clean, crisp and safe. Dunno wtf he was thinking
8:53 That move was actually a botched. I believe the guy who was taking the Pedigree thought Hunter was going for a Butterfly Powerbomb and ended up getting his head spiked on the mat due to the miscommunication.
Thats HBK
@@ZackVFX that's Marty Garner
I definitely thought Stone Cold's stunner like back in 96 was lame but as time progressed it definitely has become a thing of beauty in my opinion
Still think its lame. In the sense that it is not credible that anything significant is happening. A move where the guy doing the move is taking the entire bump just is weak.
It was lame cause it used to grab the neck first but when the kick to the gut was added it changed everything.
They need to bring back more submission finishers like the torture rack
And when people do use submission moves as finishers, have their opponent hold off tapping so quick. Too many immediately tap out before the person even gets the move locked in.
That Thumbnail Pedigree was Savage. 💀
Ko has actually said he's not using he's pop up powerbomb as finisher because to many wrestlers uses it so he changed it and asked stone cold that he use he's stunner instead
Also for Jericho, the double powerbomb. I remember this being his finisher on SmackDown 1 for the Ps1 and he used it on Road Dogg through a table on his debut WWF match.
I think he stopped using it for the same reason as he was hardly going to be able to powerbomb the likes of Kane or Big Show once, letalone twice!
Fun fact on Samoa Joe's Muscle Buster:
The original version of the move was known as the Kinikku Buster (in reference to the manga/anime Kinikkuman), but that involved the one delivering the move to drop on his butt. Joe's variation of the move was deemed the "safer" version, as it distributed the impact throughout the backs of both wrestlers, instead of the one receiving it ending up with a higher chance of a broken neck.
Honestly, was surprised that the muscle buster lasted as long as it did. You are basically bending someones head and slamming them down on their spine, and no way for them to protect or soften the slam by using the arms or sides. And the OG Pedigree, not sure how that passed the smell test either "...yeah, boss, my move, I am going to spike the guys head vertically into the mat...".
It's really easy to make the Muscle Buster significantly safer; just release the legs as you start to fall backwards, giving them time to unfold their body so that it's flat when they take the move. It effectively turns it into a Suplex variant while still looking suitably brutal.
The pedigree is misrepresented, it was but a botch.
The pedigree wasn't a Spike to the head originally, it was the same thing as what he does now. It's just the wrestler he used it on thought it a pile driver type of move and jumped too high which damaged himself. Now triple H changed it abit to let go of their arms mid air so they don't try and pile drive their own skulls onto the mat.
That's the adjusted version Joe did.The original you sit on your butt like a stunner. Not fall back.
@@chillingdis HHH used to keep the arms locked for the pedigree. People got hurt because of that.
Damien Priest's Reckoning, Zack Ryder's Zack Attack, & The butterfly piledriver Cody Rhodes was using for a spell also come to mind
Jericho's Liontamer was always a great finisher.. loved the way it looked legitimately painful. I know _I_ wouldn't want to be put in it!
Triple H original Pedigree is amazing
That muscle buster to Tyson kidd is so hard watch
Why does everyone get the 'original Pedigree' so wrong?
THE WRESTLER TAKING THE MOVE JUMPED HIGH BECAUSE HE MISREAD THE SETUP FOR THE PEDIGREE AS THE SETUP FOR A DIFFERENT MOVE.
Y'all need to stop doing this.
You are correct that the one shown here is a bad example.
In fairness, the original pedigree was more vertical than the more modern one. He used hit it at about a 45 degree angle.
I think that's why people point out that HHH changed it.
I thought wrestlamia would have known this but triple h's pedigree to Marty gunner was botched by Marty gunner he thought triple h was going for a tiger bomb meaning the start of the pedigree but the opponent flips into a powerbomb but that wasn't the case here, Marty gunner tried to flip instead of diving forward
If I recall, that guy who got Pedigreed was paralyzed after the manuever
Love your videos ❤
Thank god you brought back some intro. I'm more used to it 😂😂😂
Imagine being banned from a move you invented. Id be hot. But then again, ive never heard of Punk hurting anyone legitimately with it.
That's because he was horrible at it. It looked barely believable in ECW because the opponents were smaller but in WWE the opponent's feet hit the canvas 5 minutes before he even lifted his knee
I like RIKISHI's A S S -to-mouth move
The Stinkface
5:52 didn't he changed it because it can do damage to his knees?
The intro is back!
Kenta actually left WWE in 2019
The original pedigree was the Diamond Cutter. DDP asked him to change it up. Not sure if he directly asked him or through someone else
That was called the Pedigree Pandemonium. Yes, it had "Pedigree" in its name, but it doesn't mean that it was a Pedigree, let alone the original Pedigree. The Pedigree has always been a double underhook facebuster.
@@marlonmontelhiggins8570 doesn't matter. The original pedigree was the diamond cutter. He only used a handful of times.
Vince buddy, me and the boys have been doing TLC look alikes since 5 years old so a curb stomp is nothing to us💀
Authenticity is definitely better than duplication
Chris Jericho Lionmeter move was underrated
Jericho is overrated
Wasn't THAT pedigree just an accident?
Nobody does an actual kneeling underhook piledriver like that.
The only actual change the pedigree got is how long he kept people in that underhook for a flat bump.
Nowadays they release the underhook before dropping down so people can use their hands.
Tombstone piledriver should had been on the list if you ever hold someone in that move any lower they break their necks when you drop them so the Tombstone piledriver is very dangerous
High hopes for NXT's faction called "The Family 🏆🏆," dominatibg all (WWE) brands before Summer Slam!!!🤞
The Family 🏆🏆 will run The (WWE) ...............
Kevin Owens Pop - Up Powerbomb move was brutal
Talking about devastating I really liked hurricane's vertebreaker. That move was something else.
Curb stomp and punt kick being gone was definitely the right call
I thought the punt was only storyline banned
Stabiles Video Bruder
That OG pedigree was insane to watch. I understand now that that was a mistake, but imagining that as a purposeful finishing terrifies me.
HHH never spiked anyones head into the mat for the pedigree. I forget who is in the video, but HHH was going to do the regular pedigree, and the guy taking it jumped as if he was expecting a tiger bomb. The move wasn’t changed or altered
I hate it when people misuse the word infamous
The spike pedigree is legit.....before I even knew about that incident, me and a nephew (2 years younger) were on a trampoline, and I specifically said, "Go face down" and he went head down, and I can only imagine it looked like that, luckily, a trampoline is way more forgiving
Love It Wrestlelamia Bro.
Most devastating finisher is still the Cobra 🐍
KENTA would have had amazing matches with vader or shamrock. Hell, any wrestler who was stiff would have had barnburners with him.
I loved the O.G. Pedigree.
I didn't know the original Pedigree was that insane
Triple H's Pedigree in thumbnail was botched, not too dangerous so changed. It's a Double Underhook Facebuster, opponent was supposed to land on the face side but ended up on top of his head as it was not executed properly. If you go by the title, The move never even has the opponent out of the Double Underhook, something that Hunter used to follow as well. But then, head injuries became a serious matter and Hunter started releasing his opponent from the Underhook right before they both hit the mat. This allowed the opponent to use their arms to lessen the impact. Typical Wrestlelamia as always.
I watch till the end just to make sure I hear "Wrrrastling Conteeent!" ❤
I've heard two different stories when it comes to the pedegree one is essentially what was stated in this video and the other is that in the instance refrenced in this video the wrestler that was taking the move had misunderstood how the move was supposed to be done and thought it was more of a pilderiver type move and thus had done his part of preforming the move incorrectly. I don't know which story is true but the instance shown in the video is the only instance of the pedegree being done that way that i have ever seen or heard about.
samoa joe used the muscle buster from 2015-2016 a couple of times afther the incidnetn and even did one off the middle rope to finn balor
Triple H didn't used to spike people on their heads for the Pedigree. That example you gave was a botch. What he did was change the move so that he released the opponents arms so that they could land safer whereas he used to keep their arms hooked as he went down
Soonerish?!🤔
Would’v been great to c mor frequen returns to the excruciating-looking Lion-Tamer
One of my fingers once broke when my brother does a curb stomp on my hand.
Wow the muscle buster just l looks devastating. It's like a worst case neckbreaker.
Pedigree giving tiger driver 91 vibes
Hideo Itami is the founder of GTS
Randy Orton needs to bring his Punt Kick back
Wow 😮
What annoys me at Samoa Joe losing the Muscle Buster, is that he could have easily transitioned to using one of the other finishers had, like the Island Driver. However, he just stuck with the Coquina Clutch and then more people were using the Rear Naked Choke as their finisher
I figured it would be the overdrive that would make it on to this list for orton.
The old finishers used to look great and get the crowd fired up and never get kicked out of unless it was the end of a rivalry at a PPV. Now they are all dumb running punches and kicks and look weak, but are somehow dangerous at the same time
I like how the title of the video is modified finishers but then you list finishers that were banned and had to be switched out like the GTS and Muscle Buster also Joe did the use Muscle Buster on Karrion Kross during their feud. Also Ambrose's 2nd version of the Dirty Deeds was way better than the Headlock Driver version
The lion tamer was such a great submission. It really sucked when Jericho changed it to a boring Boston crab.
The guy HHH fought jumped to high, accidentally making it a Tiger Driver 91.
Is the Canadian Destroyer banned in WWE?
I love that move.
Goddam, that pedigree was lethal. We need it in a 2k game (and even then, I'll wince every time).
Triple H accidentally gave Marty a new version of the Tiger driver even Misawa might have been proud sadly it was a botch..but I believe Stevie Ray bookers tag team hit a similar move back in the day called the slap jack..
Hunter didn't have a reason to perform the move that way, his opponent didn't know how to take it. The Pedigree is and has always been a double underhook facebuster, not a driver-type move.
As to the Liontamer I heard that he also changed it because it was actually too powerful. If he cinches it in the opponent's escape options are too unrealistic and essentially overrode kayfabe.
Let's not forget the Faith breaker by Michelle McCool and AJ 's Styles Clash pretty much same thing
WWE forced Seth to abandon the Curb Stomp and use Pedigree when he was feuding with Triple H but later they later allowed it again and this time dropping the word "Curb" from the name.
Wow and here I thought Jericho changed the Liontamer because it posed a huge risk for people's necks.
Styles Clash could be put on here.
KO just beat Dirty Dom tonight with the Pop Up Powerbomb.
All these moves PALE in comparison to the Shaker Heights Spike from the ridiculous looking Beverly Brothers. They only used it on jobbers and legitimately looked like they were trying to kill them. I don't know if it ever got banned or not because they sorta just disappeared
I like how someone can't sell a move and the move gets banned. Good WWE...
yeah HHH's pedigree was just botched by Marty, as Marty thought it was a different move like a power bomb, so gave it more lift
Steen/Owens really toned down his style when he hit WWE, his finisher used to be the package piledriver, though look up the steenalizer if you want some wince inducing bumps.
I dont think you made it clear enough that ricochet would do the double moonsault off the TOPROPE constantly before wwe.
Yea the intro is back
Seth Rollins Curb Stomp move was weird
The liontamer being turned into the Boston crab basically destroyed jerichos career
Ricochet is high flying talent that has plenty of moves
It's sad when you have to change your finisher because EVERYONE ELSE isn't good enough
100% the pop-up Powerbomb has got to come back. Kevin using the stunner just doesn't look right and has never felt right
Because he said to many wrestlers uses powerbombs as a finisher so he asked stone cold to use he's stunner
Gts is brutal finisher
Actually how Marty took the Pedigree was wrong but Triple H never was gonna do a Piledriver or Tiger Bomb it was always supposed to be a Facebuster. The only actual thing that was changed was the way he would grab his opponents arms
The lion tamer was epic...and PAINFUL as Ive put it on and taken it as a kid. Walls of Jericho is lame.
How dean ambrose looks like ed sheeran with his long hairstyle
I’m still curious about Lashley’s dominator.
Dirty Deeds was definitely a Vince McMahon name
Power bomb should be illegal thats a concussion or neck injury waiting to happen
The Claymore 4life
Miss you Dean 😥💔
Funny that many fans assumed the botched Pedigree guy to be Shawn Michaels. It was in fact jobber Marty Garner.
NGL muscle buster looks scary as f*ck I would never want to be on the receiving end
Samoa Joe Muscle Buster move ended Tyson Kidd's career
8:04 I did the curb stomp on my older brother one time wwe was banned
