    Pretty cool little truck for people that want an adventure car. It's the spiritual successor to the Subaru Baja 😅

    I own the 2022 sel premium with the activity package and love it!! You can change the mileage gauge display to a cube image, at least I am able to do that on mine and also think it looks even cooler than the original gauge look. Love my santa cruz!!❤❤

    Have had my 2023 Santa Cruz limited for about a year. It’s been fantastic. I get about 27 mpg and commute 80 miles round trip through mountainous terrain. Great in the snow. Fun to drive. Very comfortable even for short people. I’m 5’2”.

    1:32 it doesn't have a CVT, true. But even worse, IMO, it has a DCT. They're also not the best when it comes to reliability. I'd steer you towards the 2.5 N/A engine with the regular automatic transmission, or just get something else that's going to have a more reliable transmission than the DCT.

    Good review but would have been better if you could have tested the tow package. This vehicle appeals to folks that are downsizing from full size trucks but still have the need for light duty towing such as towing a trailer with a garden tractor.

    I strongly disagree with the engine being a win, a four cylinder turbo is doomed for failure. Why put it in a pickup ?

    • @TwoDollarGararge
      @TwoDollarGararge Před 10 měsíci +2

      4 cylinder turbos are fine as long as you take care of them The problem comes when you don't do maintenance and you want to hear the turbo noise so you drive it hard.

    • @gordonwick1364
      @gordonwick1364 Před 10 měsíci

      You do realize that their is alot pickup trucks out there that has four cylinder engine right? They are more reliable and fuel efficient. This is a utility vehicle and and it doesn't need a v6 or more.

    • @chuckgrc3011
      @chuckgrc3011 Před 10 měsíci

      Agreed! My non-turbo version is fine for me. Its not going to win any races but its a 300K mile engine if maintained.

      True back in the day. But for the past 10 years 4 cylinder turbos have come a long way in reliability. Oil maintenance schedule can't be neglected.

    I want these to be successful because I want compact trucks to come back. With that said, it's a little weird-looking. Truck buyers want a real truck and for the money you can get a decently-optioned midsize truck that's not much bigger. If a compact truck is what they want, a Maverick is cheaper and less weird. Hyundai also still has quality issues that they're working to overcome. These seem to be selling decently well.

      @@JT8D200C yeah I know it’s an Australian term but I am an American and I still use it to differentiate these types of vehicles from true trucks. No wonder why people call them trucks they weren’t sold here as Utz but they were sold here as trucks and that’s the confusing part to me anything that looks like a truck but has a different nose on the front of it that doesn’t look like a truck is not a truck yeah I might get into some discussions about this but I know the facts even though it’s an Australian term I still use it and they should have a new classification in the US for these vehicles for these types, they should call them utility collars but I don’t know why people still sell them as trucks
