- Peglin Part 68 - I never got to use my personal relic to my benefit before. The only time I got it was at the end of run, where it had zero synergy. Now, it's all Alien's Rock synergy all the time! Hopefully my own relic doesn't screw me over.

Once had a run with 10 or so tier 3 orbelisks then hit that fight and lost
I don’t think there’s been a single spinventor run where I haven’t taken poltorbgeist, assemball, or echorb simply because AOE is so valuable
I was worried too the entirety of act 3 as he kept going for elites
I can’t tell if Tyler’s mouth not matching his audio at 6:21 followed by the black screen at 6:28 is a genuine error, or just a 5-head joke by the editors about Aliensrock being bugged like the relic.

i think if mr editor was going to make a joke about the bug they would have done something funnier than a black screen.
I hope it’s a joke from the editors, I had a good laugh when it happened. It was also make sense, since right before he took the shot it went back, so I do believe it is intentional, and my night has been made.
I think it would be cool to add the Alien's rock to the outro screen.

It appears that the targeted enemies weren't taking damage when their hitboxes were overlapped with another enemies, causing only the other enemy to take damage, this is best seen in the act three boss.

That's a major issue. They gotta fix that fast. For now it looks like I'm skipping alien's rock.
This game in general seems to have a few hitbox quirks with the weird hybrid system they have going on, but this is by far the biggest
I’m suprised this game used hit boxes at all. I figured the shooting animation and what takes damage would be separate.

Concentrication is a great orb against the dragon, especially since it allows you to dig into that pile of coins for the refreshes/crits.

It's also great against the slime boss, perhaps the most hated boss of them all, because it goes through slime pegs unhindered and the positions you can shoot from all give reliable ways to hit the dome shaped peg ring in the center.
Looks like the final boss glitch only happened when there was an enemy next to him. Probably something to do with the adjacent targeting
I imagine if he targeted the minions it would've dealt damage, but Tyler isn't known for his well put attention
final boss was goin' for a dodge tank build against Tyler, I guess

It looks like whenever you targeted a stationary enemy that had adjacent enemies, they just... didn't take damage.
No, it has to do with how enemies are positioned. Minesweeper and the plants in the forrest fight are offset from the regular plane of battle (i.e their positions would make them be in a different ending spot than a regular enemy). Because of this, and how I imagine Aliensrock is coded, it bugs out when applying the aoe damage because of the two different planes of damage
@@noahlafreniere5252 no, as it only takes effect when the enemy targeted is not in the normal fighting environment and the aoe effects the regular.
Basically they have it coded one way and not the reverse
@@SwordOfBlueThunder I think this is close but not quite it. it's possible a bounding error/array bug. all of the enemies that caused misses were offset, but they were also the _last enemy in the row._ my guess is that, let's say there are 5 positions for enemies, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. the offset allows enemies in positions 1.5, 2.5, 3.5, 4.5, and 5.5. however, there's no position 6. so either the array of legal positions ends at 5, or 5.5 gets rounded up to 6, which is a non-existent position.
compare 3:48 with 6:30. in both cases, the slime is in the last _normal_ position, but in 6:30, the flower is half a position closer, while in 3:48 it's half a position further. also, at 24:30, he attacked an offset enemy (the weather vane) and still hit like normal. so this leads me to believe it's that last offset position.
This glitch is really interesting though! Imagine a unique boss where you have to defeat everything else that is on screen first before you're able to fight it directly...

3:54 yeah I get that glitch sometimes, but for me, it skips an enemy and goes for the next one, mostly with piercing orbs
Yup same here.
as you can see in the boss fight this is actually consistent. It seems to be if an enemy is all the way to the right of the screen (possibly a non-moving enemy?) and has an enemy to its immediate left, it wont take damage if its targeted with the aliensrock thing on.

You missed out on the Glorious SuffeRing + Orbsium combo. It's like the +112 you got on the beginning, but +20 damage every new peg you hit, and even more after that.
Time to peg the enemies and rock their world

I'm pretty sure Tyler plays on the Beta/unstable branch, as in the past any time a video from him releases saying new items I try find them and they're not in the main game yet.
Good that he does this sort of testing for them, but it's not a negative against the devs.

The screen going black at 6:30 made my think my phone broke
I LOVE that you put what your upgrades do on the right side of the screen. I often have to pause and go back to see what changed but this stops having to listen to someone explain something simple each time and still lets people know what's up
I think the reason the concentrication went through the crit in the mole fight is because it hit a regular peg on the same frame. I could see the devs coding it in a way that would make this happen and overlooking the possibility of hitting 2 pegs at once

concentrication is very good against the act 1 bosses and the dragon. it also helps deal with bad refresh positions, everybody except for the guy who takes it every time should probably take it a bit more often at cruciball levels where our choices are actually impactful
Im deffo the guy who takes it all the time. I tend to neglect refresh relics for DAMAGE.
The glitch seems to be based on enemies not in standard lines when targeting enemies not in the standard area such as the final boss or spitting plants if you hit extra enemies do to aliens rock you do not deal damage to the targeted enemies that’s why you were kissing damage at seemingly random whenever you weren’t able to kill the enemies next to him that spawned with bombs you wouldn’t deal the damage no idea why but that seems to be the cause
The editing quality for these videos continues to go from amazing to phenomenal. Great work editing Tyler pegging hard! Also, may be another game glitch, but the Spinventor goes from 25 hp at 15:16 to 89 hp after the shop. Is this a mini-boss mechanic I don’t know about or another game glitch?
The editor skipped a chest and a basic fight I assume he just gained that much hp from corn that fight.
The editing was on POINT this video. It was so cool to see the little replay like popup detailing how you got more powerful each time you made a change to your deck. Very awesome.

It’s definitely an alien‘s rock glitch on the final boss, you only lost damage when there were minions on the field. I noticed throughout this run that if there was a flying enemy next to a grounded enemy only one of them would take damage (despite alien’s rock); hitting the final boss did damage to the lower minions, but maybe cause the boss has a tall bounding box the game counted it as an “above” enemy and made it not take damage? 🤔 idk what else would cause that bug, very weird regardless

Concentrication acts weird sometimes. It never ticked pegs hit towards the Round Squirrel at all but Wand and Popping Corn were counted for. Also, in my personal runs, I noticed that Concentrication with Multiball (Duplication Station or Matryoshka Shell) will not Multiball until it hits a Crit or Refresh.
You got me hooked on this game. Been rewatching all the videos to learn and get better
I think here it seems that the bug with aliens rock is that if you target a stationary enemy (such as minesweeper, the peashooters, etc), while they are overlapping with another enemy (happens on minesweeper all the time), you dont get the damage right. just target the moving enemy and it should work fine (if possible)

Thank you for showing me this game and you probably have found it off camera but if you ever need a quick win for an orb or something getting to one or zero orbs with round guard and bad cheese basically gives you a win since discarding the orb deals damage to all enemies and you don’t take damage while reloading

I was watching on my tv and had to switch to my phone just to comment. Great job to the editor(s) on this video the upgrade stats popping out of his face cam is so subtle but so helpful. 4:41 Just wanted to share my thoughts on it great job editing, I’ve been noticing the improvements and quality.
Idea for floor 4: The Sky - These enemies are faster, stronger, and tangier. And maybe more dynamic... It could introduce the idea that the ability to hit certain pegs is linked to how many enemies are on the field (for bosses, and less for mini bosses). This could be an optional level between the third floor completion and the next cruciball level. Perhaps it could even open up into a sort of infinite mode or whatever. Anyways, I like the idea of there being more but not required.

I think the reason is it targets adjacent tiles, but for some reason it doesn't like half tiles and stuff where ranged units are, so it will only it the full tiles or something if possible because of the splash

There also were quite a few times normal orbs just went through pegs. Especially with moving boards. Something was just off this time.
i think when concentrication passes thru crits, it's not actually a bug, it just is skimming the side of the crit so it gets hit but doesnt bounce. you can do that with normal orbs

Orbsium is insane with glorious suffering since every peg is upgraded multiple times.
Concentrication with duplication potion and reorbanizer are a great combo. And if you're extra lucky you could also add strange brew and crit fleece.

I think the concentricate has a larger activate radius that hit radius, and that's why you sometimes see the "bug" occuring, but that's just my guess.

Concentrication is such a strong orb when used well.
I've been having a weird issue where hitting multiple enemies (sphear, etc) just does 0 dmg sometimes, especially on the shield ads. I think it might be more than a relic bug.

I think the reason why he wasn’t doing damage to the last boss sometimes was because their minions were spawning on him and aliens rock (relic) was only targeting them for some reason.

The red orb does bounce from the crit, but you hit it on the side, so it doesn't bounce back, but a bit to the side
One thing I hope they add is the Regular Chip mechanic from megaman battle network where you get to choose one of your orbs to always go first. I see a lot of potential in such a system here in a game where bad orb order can completely screw up your strategy.

If between enemies there is a gap(between aiming squares) THAT means the enemies are not next to eachother.
I like that they made the two content creator relics kinda similar. They both give a bit of aoe to non aoe orbs.

I believe the issue is that the “original” crit and refreshes have a different tag than the generated ones from the relic and they forget to let it hit those also? thats my guess

Also maybe phasing through refreshes is due to him picking up the 'add X number of crits/refreshes relics

I mean this video shows exactly how to reproduce it. Have one enemy all the way to the right, with an enemy directly to its left, the enemy that's targeted wont take damage but the enemy to its left will.

The next time you play peglin you should see what you can do with the constriction seal ( or whatever its called) it gives +2 / +4 but only allows you to move in 4 directions
Would love to see a build based around buffing pegs then using Orbsium on them

I like to imagine that the peglin king just used his minions as meat shields.
The fact that no one is talking about him removing the assemball and then in the next fight he found a sectorb that adds "hit every enemy" To the assemball.
Lost a cruciball 14 game due to the final boss glitch. Had just under 4k health left. Had an orb due 4.5k damage and the damage did nothing. I couldn’t repeat that damage and was already low health. Was pretty pissed but still won a few games later

Tyler(ALIEN) pegs the enemies, and ROCKs their world
So it seems the glitch with the super zapper fat crystal pegglin and that one plant seem to happen when the target is at the edge of the screen and there is an adjacent enemy next to it. Makes me curious if targeting the enemy adjacent to the biggest of the pegglins would make the splash damage work like usual.
