It’s good that you mentioned Dave Grohl plays a thinline guitar, since it is out of the common practice for hard rock is like the Foo Fighters to play guitars like that. Ironically, this SA2000 which contains a center block would be better suited for heavy overdrive than the one Dave plays, the Casino, which is entirely hollow and prone to frequent feedback.

Pretty sure it's the violin burst. The Brown is pretty much black at the end of the wings.

It is the Brown burst which is darker at the edge and more "Gibson" looking. The violin burst is kind of the "original" color for the Sa2200. Both gorgeous (I should know: I have the violin burst and my daughter has the brown burst). Comparing it with a Gibson 335 is moot: It is better (arguably) than a run-of-the-mill 335 and will be different in many ways to a custom shop 335. Where there is no arguments is the value for the money.

Proper guitar store etiquette is to take your coat off (or shirt in this example) so you don't scratch the backside of the guitar with those brass buttons. Nice tones.
