  • In celebrating workers day today, the federal government approved a salary increase of between 25 percent and 35 percent for civil servants, as well as an increase in pension of between 20 percent and 28 percent for pensioners.
The presidency has come under fire on social media, after officials of Danish Shipping Company, A.P Moller-Maersk, on Tuesday denied a $600 million dollar investment deal with the Nigerian government.
On April 28th, special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Ajuri Ngelale in a statement claimed, that Nigeria secured a $600 million dollar investment to expand existing port infrastructure, to accommodate more container shipping services in Nigerian ports.
According to Ngelale, Robert Uggla, chairman of A.P Moller-Maersk, made the investment commitment during a meeting with President Bola Tinubu on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Saudi Arabia, But according to Lloyd's List on April 29th, the $600 million dollar investment in Nigeria as stated by the presidency was news to Maersk.
The report added that the company’s Chairman Uggla, met with president Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the weekend, but no new investment deal was signed.
The presidency in a video made available to Arise News, with the caption, ‘CAUGHT ON TAPE’, claimed the Maersk Terminals Chief Executive Officer, Keith svendsen detailed the company's $600 million dollar investment commitment during a visit to the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite back in February.
In the video, the Maersk Terminals CEO appeared to have outlined plans to allocate an initial $100 million dollars, with an additional Half-Billion dollars for port investment in Lagos, Nigeria.
Following the demolition of Landmark beach, The presidential candidate of the Labour Party Peter Obi, on tuesday, yet again, urged President Bola Tinubu’s administration to stop the controversial Lagos-Calabar coastal highway project, as it will lead to massive Job loss at a time of rampant unemployment.
In a series of posts on X, Peter Obi, described the reported demolition of businesses and residences in the designated right of way for the project as insensitive and heart-wrenching, adding that it is not too late to discontinue the project.
In the meantime, a video of Peter Obi when he ordered the demolition of property to make way for a new road during his tenure as governor of Anambra State made rounds on social media.

History is being distorted over a 30 seconds video clip.
Premier Brewery built their fence on an existing road, though the road was long abandoned.
The govt did not initiate and plan building a road on an existing property. No!
The Premier brewery's fence was long marked for demolition but since there was no immediate need for the right of way, govt didn't act on it, till the contract to fix the road was executed.
It's totally different from demolition of People's investments and homes and livelihood for a road that is not a priority.

Rather than going around begging for trade with international companies and govts, how about fix home first. If a couple of politicians with billions in their pockets would put them down and ensure the money is devoted to wise and honest projects,in a short while, the international market will be interested in us.
As far as Peter Obi is concerned, I think he is truly becoming dangerously desperate much as I love his mandate esp.if the rumour about him and El-Rufai is true. In my opinion,Datti Baba-Ahmed is super for him!

On the claim of $600m secured blablabla, Tinubu should flee from propaganda.
It's self belittling and insulting to Nigerians. I have said it to his advisers and praisers to inform Tinubu that ruling Nigeria is not by force.
I mean, as the President, he can simply say "guys look, i don't want to rule again, Shetty my guy may want to contest on his own, but to apologize for lacking sufficient ideas and willpower to fix the country, i will ensure a free and fair elections come 2027."
Then ensure a human being becomes INEC Chairman, also place humans as Zonal Commissioners. Watch them conduct a free & fair election. Make it part of the constitution for m all candidates to participate in life debates and let Nigerians listen and ask questions before elections. We will elect our own leaders.
That's what to sanely do instead of insulting us in the global page by securing investments that were never thought of nor discussed with you.
It's painful seeing this administration attempting to educate us on what they themselves neither know nor understand.
