Plum dumplings recipe:
for the dough:
400g Potatoes
30g butter
2 egg yolk
3 tbsp flour
2 tbsp wheat semolina

My grandfather's great great aunt was in the Salem trials, she was from Poland and her family left due to which hunts there. I live close by, eeeee would luv to meet you 🍁🧡🐿🐿
@@nymphsofartemis2889 One of my direct ancestors (Charles Gott) was a deacon in Salem. Thankfully, he left Salem and went to what is now Maine before the craziness started.
While I am glad that he wasn't one of the persecutors there, he was still a Puritan. I am not particularly proud to have Puritans in my family tree!

The poem was beautiful. I think I'll share it with my family at Mabob dinner :) I'm a solitary witch in rural Christian America but the members of my household are really supportive. They're what I'm thankful for, always.

I can understand that sentiment. I live in rural maine and would love to find some witch friends, join a coven but it’s truly limited here. Thankful for CZcams and for my relationship with spirit otherwise I would feel lonely.

My husband and I were married on the Autumn Equinox before I identified as a pagan/witch. So I was delighted to find out while learning about the Wheel of the Year that Mabon was also our anniversary 😊 I’ll be celebrating by making oatmeal raisin (my hubbies favorite) and pumpkin spice cookies, and decorating the house more than usual. Thanks for another magickal video ❤

I was so grateful for this video, I was literally crying haha I've had a really, really difficult two weeks where in a routine doctor's visit has turned into a series of invasive (and expensive) tests to determine whether or not I need surgery. 🥰🥰 I paused and sent the poem to a friend early in the video and said another friend found it. I’m glad that feeling isn’t one sided. 🥰 I’m new to more “traditional” wheel of the year type rituals. Wasn’t raised that way but was always drawn to the equinoxes and am understanding more and more why. I LOVE the fall and my bday is sept and harvest js always been my fav. American thanksgiving was meant to be this but in typical human (and American) style it’s become about greed and gluttony. Mabon is my fav now. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and ideas they always inspire me!

Oh my god!! These dumplings are my favourite!! Hungarian version is made same, just served with custard sugar mixed with loads of cinnamon, and then - the fiest can begin🧚🪶💫.. Love your videos, and how the little ones you call croch gobblines😁💗...And love the photography of a video you are using.

We’ve had some chillier evenings and mornings and I’ve started the shift in my home and outfits. This morning when I was starting my day, I wondered if you would release a Mabon video today! Thank you!
I love those times of changes between the seasons - so full of anticipation and excitement ☺️✨
This is my favorite time of year, and I think this Mabon I will take extra time to remember that there is plenty to be grateful for.
I also love mabon. Always did even before I knew I was a witch! I keep it simple... Cook a little more than in the summer. Slowly go back to living more indoors.... Tea, jam, squash, potatoes!
I love the smell, the light, the cooler mornings and warm afternoons! I also go more often to the farmers market and bring nature indoors to decorate... Mabon and Yule are my favorite time of the wheel of the year as a witch 🙏🧡 I also want to start havingore rituals for those two sacred times. In time... I am a new witch and there is so much to learn!

@@Thewitchescookery Thank you! I just wish we got the same kind of plums used in your vlog. I mean we do, but they're called "prunes" in the states. I'm sure most plums will do, however. Thanks again. Enjoy the fall!
@@robingray5037 these are damsons - prunes are usually made out of the common plum. The dumplings taste lovely with regular plums too, though. Or if you can get your hands on Mirabells (the yellow ones) - that is how they are also often made, especially in Austria

Thanks for sharing the traditions. When you were talking about going into the forest and setting out a spread for the animals it reminded me of a story of what my great grandmother did for autumn in the Carpathians. The family would walk into the forest, plant some spare seeds, give thanks, pour out some milk or beer and drink the rest enjoying the autumn forest walk.

So thrilled to wake up this morning to see a new video! Mabon was my first sabbath after I took up my witchy broom, and so it will always be close to my heart. It's almost Ostara here in Australia, and so I'm celebrating both :)
Mabon is my favorite holiday! It is the true beginning of Autumn where I live in the US. The air cools, but the sun is still bright and the leaves start turning their vibrant colors. I don't enjoy the heat of summer anymore, so I look forward to the Autumn Equinox/Mabon every year. It is also the time that I start baking and cooking my favorite foods again as well. Thank you so much for your video! I truly loved it!

Mabon is also my absolute favorite!! ❤️ Summer is my favorite season and I view Mabon as the celebration of all we’ve worked towards in the summer.
Regarding the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday, Indigenous nations consider it a very harmful celebration and have named it a National Day of Mourning. I grew up celebrating it and my family was quite upset when I stopped celebrating it. I really appreciate the Mabon celebration because is allows me to create new traditions for my family celebrating harvest and gratitude without harming First Nations Peoples.

Hi! A slavic here - we actually roll out the dough for the dumblings and add a cube of sugar in each plum for a more of a sweet desert. Just an idea if you`re down to try new things :) Happy Mabon!
We usually would do the sugar cube too but I tried to save on some calories 😅 I shall try rolling out the dough once - to try it with a thinner coating
