@@sockpocketpre-alpha8258 yes I think it's as good as the movie, I was worried about it being "Americanified" but the 3 leads are British and bring their Britishness to it, saying that in fairness the American leads are also very good.

I'm so happy with this show. It has the same tone and (surprisingly good-natured) humor as the movie without recycling any of the material beyond the basic premise. And besides, it's got Matt Berry in it.

I can't imagine why I haven't heard of this before! An underrated masterpiece that deserves more attention. I watched 5 seasons in one week! I don't remember another series that was so interesting to me. The actors are amazing! I'm absolutely hooked!
How can anyone expect this to be bad when you have Taika and Jermaine behind the camera and British comedy royalty in front of the camera Matt Berry!!! Kayvan Novak!!! And Harvey Guillermo isn’t British but he has had small parts in a number of things over the years and is so naturally funny he deserves all the success and recognition I hope this show will bring him!
Taika is not behind the cameras, it is Jermaine only. They are together creators of the movie but not the show.
Don't forget Natasia Demetriou, she's awesome too. Fantastic with her brother in "Stath Lets Flats".

Those guys are genuine in the movie, to add to it's perfection Viago and Vlad are the creators of the movie. Vlad is the creator of the TV show, I haven't seen it yet so I am guessing the other half of the creativity will be missing in the Show :)
I knew it! Energy Vampires do exist and I'm pretty sure my highschool algebra teacher is one of them.
I used to work in a comic store, and we've known about energy vampires (we called them soul vampires) for years.
I work with one. She's either boring you with the further adventures of her melodramatic family or pounding on her stapler like a small child.

This show is the funniest thing I've seen in years, SO DAMN GOOD. Just binged the last 3 seasons and catching up with 4. I love this cast.

I was very hesitant to watch this since I love the movie and was certain it wouldn't live up to it. I got through the first season in 2 days and I hear the next one is even better. I wish I had started sooner, but I'm loving it.

@@thotslayer9914 The original director of the movie What we do in the shadows is Taike Waititi. He then directed Thor Ragnarok. Istead of saying his name in the trailer, they just say "The director of Thor". He was also the co-creator of the original movie, so him being part of this is good (to say the least).

This is one of the funniest shows ive seen lately.
It’s like “The Office” with Vampires.
As a massive fan of the original, I am tentatively optimistic for this. The casting looks right, a couple of good British comic actors in Kayvan Novak and Matt Berry.
Currently rewatching the seasons before starting the new one. I always like coming 5o CZcams and reading the comments on trailers of what I'm watching to see how many others love it as much as I do

The movie was lightning in a bottle. I'm not going to say that I didn't want more after it ended -- same with Flight of the Conchords, but that's part of the appeal. You can't possibly keep up the level of hilarity and originality of something like WWDitS over a multi-season show.

Just finished season 2 in one day. Honestly so funny and definitely holds up to the original.
I was so reluctant to watch this and glad I finally did. Is it so cute (adorkable someone else wrote), charming, fun and funny. Great music, too.

Ok I was very worried about this for a moment, then I saw the guy from the IT Crowd along with Phone Jacker chap and maybe, just maybe it'll be quite watchable.

The first episode was really good
I just finished season 1 today my gf put me on I always rejected her and when she would say watch this show it’s 2023 and I’m in love with this show so far nandor and nadja I like a lot
I liked the movie but it does not have the refinement and rewatchability of this absolute gem of a show to me. I think one sign of this show’s comedic genius is that it took 5 actors I’ve never heard of and they are now 5 of my favorite characters on television. My initial impression before watching this was “why take a pretty funny idea, and try to keep it going without the characters that hold it together, i.e. Jermaine Clement and Taika Watiti?” Well I’m happy to report the new actors are amazing, and the comedic spirit of the aforementioned comedy heavyweights is very much in play here. Plus every episode has excellent cameos that are icing on the cake because the main actors don’t depend on them to be funny. Thank you also to Jermaine Clement and Taika Watiti for coming together and making this greatness, please keep it going.
I hope they bring back that really ancient vampire!
