I suggest you guys delete this hilariously wrong video and do some proper research about all sorts of crap you tell in this one. Brewed, call it whiskey, call single malts blends, every shot is some kind of liquor on the rocks, probably not even whisky, and so on. Really sad and hilarious at the same time, or do you call this fake news?
Something mass produced for all the rich people in the world is not something special or probably even good. You need to find something local, some small quality produced whiskey unique in the world. And its probably not even going to be that expensive.
Firstly Whisky is never brewed. Its a distilled spirit! Beer is brewed And single malt whisky means its a whisky only made up of 100% barley(not any grain) from 1 single distillery. BTW its pronounced as (Glenfiddik) Dalmore trinitas is a single malt not a blend! If the different casks are from the same distillery the its not called a blend.
yes Dhrumil you are right, but first understand what is brewing, when germinated grain is dried, mashed and steep in water and then heated up to make a mash, in the production of beer we just add hops to it and this is the only thing that is different in the production of beer and whiskey, till the process of fermentation. So we are using the exact same method so we can say that whiskey is brewed, fermented and then distilled.
and aged 50 years means the youngest whisky in the bottle is 50 years old not the whole thing. And one person pointed out :"Talks about scotch, shows a picture of a bunch of irish whiskys".
Dhrumil Modi Whiskey is Brewed, fermented, distilled, and then aged in a barrel. The grains used and the way they are prepared determines the type of whiskey. And to take it even further, the type of barrel used plays a factor in what whiskey is being made. To say that whiskey is NEVER brewed is not necessarily true.
a bottle of Macallan Valerio Adami was sold last October in Edinburgh (Bonhams auctions) for a mind blowing 848.750 British pound. The whiskey was distilled in 1926 and bottled in 1986.
So many mistakes in this vid. Maybe try to do some actual research on a topic besides binge reading a bunch of Buzzfeed articles. And I love how they spelled it "whiskey", showed Irish whiskey, talk about the most expensive whiskys while showing booze poured over ice, etc. So come on, ALUX. Try a little harder.
You must be a complete idiot to drink one of these expensive whiskys. If a whisky is more than 25 years old, it's decreasing in quality (well, most whiskys are), it's over the top. And of course pooring your whisky over icecubes kills your whisky.
Whiskey is typically Irish and American, Whisky is everything else. Just a marketing thing really. I did laugh that they showed 10 bottles of Irish whiskey when talking about Scotch. So many inaccuracies, its like a car crash, i cant stop watching.
@@robertjordan1569 Glenlivet is irish since when? Macellen is irish since when? Confused how all 10 could be irish. One was a rye, which is not an irish style either.
1) whisky is distilled not brewed 2) Malt whisky uses barley not grain 3) The Balvenie is not a secret recipe 4) It takes Three years to mature whisky in Scotland 5) It’s “Whisky”
Spelling is based more on country of origin. Scotland spells tyre America spells it tire. That is one of the few things that is wrong in the video. That's because it's different not wrong.
A lot of people don’t understand a few things: Whiskey: American/Irish spelling. Whisky: Scottish spelling. Also whiskey is indeed brewed before it is distilled. Before distillation if they added hops to the brew it would be beer.
Something mass produced for all the rich people in the world is not something special or probably even good. You need to find something local, some small quality produced whiskey unique in the world. And its probably not even going to be that expensive.
Macallan 57 yrs is atleast worth 117.000$ and currently selling for around 200.000$ at the marina bay sands. Maybe you could include this one in the list!
it would seem that many people don’t know how whiskey is made. Because the wort is indeed brewed. Same process as beer, but after fermentation, it’s distilled, and then aged in a barrel. 🤦🏼♂️
To take the snobbery out of all of this, I have the last quart jar of whiskey made by a bootlegger in Southern Appalachia who made liquor for 72 consecutive years with his family's 150 year old recipe. This man was also a close personal friend and to me this jar of un-bonded whiskey is priceless. It's also the finest whisky I've ever tasted in my 66 years on earth.
Hey boy! Tryna get my hands on some of that whiskey, hears the deal ill fight ya for it. We can meet up at any ramdom McDonalds squabble it out winner takes the drink now ya in or ya in?
The “Single Malt” in scotch is not a descriptive phrase. Each word means something on its own. Single means that its been distilled by one distillery, not blended from products of multiple distilleries. Malt, means that its distilled from one grain only, usually barley.
The Macallan Fine & Rare 60 Year Old 1926 bottle, sold for 1.5 million. And The Macallan Valerio Adami 1926 60-year-old Scotch whisky sold for 1.1 million. so 460k isnt even close to being the most expensive.
I have a bottle of 25 year old Macallan from 1964, and a bottle of Ladyburn 12 year old I bought in 1990. (I actually bought three bottles and drank two.) I also have a bottle of 10 year old Loch Dhu Black single malt I bought in 1998. I look at them once in a while. :)
I would do both for me and my family after the struggles and success of that family owned business… toast for the success after the long years of hard work 😎
You guys don't know much about whiskey, do you? 1. You call it "whiskey" yet you insist finest comes from Scotland where it is called whisky. 2. "Most of the finest whiskey is known as Scotch whiskey". Well, whiskey is Scotch because it comes from Scotland, not because it is fine whiskey. Also, there are fine whiskeys from around the world -- Ireland, US and even Japan. 3. You show it exclusively on the rocks. This was the only way I thought you can drink whiskey and for many years I would not drink whisky because with ice it is just strong alcohol, watered, with no taste. If you get good whiskey you get it because you want to taste it, don't water it down and don't dull your senses by making it cold. I mean, there is nothing wrong drinking it on the rocks but teach people you can enjoy it other ways, too. 4. Whiskey is distilled, not brewed. Yeah, it is also brewed, but the places where it is being produced are called distilleries not breweries. 5. Some whiskeys are expensive but not necessarily because they are better than other, cheaper whiskeys. Whiskey is about preference and some cheaper whiskeys are perfectly good and very enjoyable. Aged and rare whiskeys are expensive because they are hard to obtain. For people who know whiskeys and want to taste something new they need find more and more rare whiskeys to find variety. Layman person trying old or rare whiskey may not necessarily enjoy it as they are frequently kept for their demanding flavor profile that requires trained palate to enjoy. 6. Whiskey is not decanted. Decanting wine has very specific purpose, to remove sediment and to expose it to oxygen. Whiskey does not have sediment and exposure to oxygen only causes detorioration. 7. Again, every single shot shows whiskey on the rocks. Guys... really?
You forgot to mention the main reason Scotch and Irish whiskeys are usually atop the most expensive list. The longer a whiskey is aged the less there is do to angels share, therefore there is a need for a higher price to still carry a profit. This is reference with the first whiskey. They only get 88 bottles out of a barrel after 50 years. How sweet it would be to work at the distillery at 20 and barrel some whiskey and then open the barrel and drink the fruits of your labor at 70 straight from the cask.
Somebody get in a bar and ask for a scotch , he drink and ask for a second one, then he ask the bill. It's "only" 24,000 $. Before the client start to ask why it' s so expensive, the barman say :nuts ,olive and chips comes free on duble ordination . What do you answered to the barman ??

@@jamesneeson9825 I think you should have a second look at my post, I used quotes ..The standard spelling of Whisky in Ireland is with an e.....
They spell tire - tyre too but you spell it based on how you learned in your country of origin. I'm American and spell it with an e too. Get over it!

As a Scot from Glasgow, I wish people would stop pronouncing Edinburgh as Edinburg or Edinboro,it’s Edinburgh and it’s said like Edinbura, say it like this Ed-in-bur-a.
@Alux.com I don't understand why someone would buy whiskey or other drink if they have no intention of drinking it. Can someone please explain to me why someone would collect things like drinks but not drink them? Warm regards.
