Elvis was born to be on stage he is a true performer he sang from the tip of his toes to the top of his head and he had a great sense of humor

I think this is reported to hit right at 65 million viewers for this performance!!! You could only hear part of the song because the screaming was so loud. And he's just getting started here in 1956!!!

I saw Elvis live. He was better than any other entertainer I ever saw - and I saw just about every major star. I agree with others that you should watch the videos Pts 1 & 2 - Elvis & the Black Community.

On his second appearance at the Ed Sullivan Show he was only filmed from the waist up. They never saw a white entertainer move like him beforeand there were many bad reactions to his moves.
Thank you for diving into this extraordinary entertainer! ☀️💚

My first concert was Elvis in 1972 in Fort Worth Texas. Oh he was mesmerizing on stage. To this day there will never be anyone like Elvis. Oh he loved to dance on stage. They actually at one time wouldn’t film him from the waist down. A lot of radio stations banned his music. He wasn’t loved by all but us kids we loved our Elvis and my mom oh she grew up listening to his music with her dad ( grandpa ) he also loved Elvis

The screaming NEVER abated. He walked onstage to those screams his whole career. He stayed around so long and was #1 for so long that he became “OURS”. Like family. We prayed for him and loved him.

the screaming was real.my wife's mother went to see him at the Chicago stadium in 1957. Police protection from all the girls mobbing the stage. Ambulances lined up to take passed out girls to the hospital from hyperventilating and fainting. Elvis had to be rushed out of the stadium after the show for his own safety. No one would leave the arena. everyone screaming we want Elvis. The announcer kept saying Elvis has left the building over and over. It was a nearly a riot.

After this performance, he was censored and only shown from the waist up on The Ed Sullivan Show. However, if you really want to see Elvis bust some moves, check out his Hound Dog live performance on The Milton Berle Show. That was the live performance that started the drive to get him banned from tv altogether. Ya know how Michael Jackson got up on his toes? Well, he channeled some Elvis.
I had to find that live performance of Elvis after Austin Butler did it in the Elvis movie, and it’s spot on. The 2022 Elvis movie is the best I’ve seen done of Elvis. If you’re curious about Elvis, I def recommend seeing it. Elvis’s concerts were way wilder than what he did on tv. In fact, there were ordinances passed to keep him from moving on stage, with even the vice squad filming his concert to make sure that “Elvis the Pelvis” didn’t get too wild. There were calls to get him arrested…talk about cancel culture. Here’s his Milton Berle Hound Dog performance.

Elvis 1st live performance at Ed Salivan Show czcams.com/video/aNYWl13IWhY/video.html, Elvis was just starting making records for RCA and this "live" & his moves was a shock for this era, because most of the singers were standing still while singing. Lot of the media tried to cancel Elvis, people was smashing Elvis records, and at his 2nd live at Ed Salivan show (sheck this too) they film him only from the weist up, but girls keep screaming, haha! At Elvis & the black comiunity documentary part 1 & 2 gives lot of information about this era and the inpact Elvis had to people. Thinks was so different that time, Things were so tense that it was banned in e.g. Boston, the young people who listened to him were called "juvenile delinquents" , he brought such strong emotions to people, that many wanted to fight him because of his popularity. Ed Sullivan had stated that he would never bring him on the show but was forced to change his mind due to the great success of Elvis' appearance on the rival show Milton Berle czcams.com/video/cAEruhuQENM/video.html&embeds_referring_euri=https %3A%2F%2Felculture.gr%2F&source_ve_path=OTY3MTQ&feature=emb_imp_woyt while Frank Sinatra, who was also popular at that time, declared that rock music destroys young people. Later on he was also forced due to Elvis' popularity to invite him to his show when Elvis returned from his service in the army and they even sang together czcams.com/video/BneQYMRhBjQ/video.html. Also check out czcams.com/video/mbXCfpYZwIk/video.html ), Elton John affected by seeing him & Jimmy Hendrix drawing Elvis when he was12-year-old after seeing him in concert eth and so many more artist still get inspiration of him. Because RCA records bought Elvis contract from Sun records (Elvis first record company) the owner Sam Fphilips, was having money to make records for Carl Perkings(blue swed shoes) and Jonny Cash. Elvis movie biography, gives a lot of information about his live at that era but still is amazing the impact Elvis has even today to so many people and how many joy broughjt to this world.

He made 31 Films. He was black belt in karate. Played football. Very close friends with Muhammad Ali. He had a A police badge if he needed to use it. He did once at a petrol station.

A Live TV performance, showing his early dance moves is …. Elvis Presley at Milton Berle Show (Live TV 5th June 1956) Full Appearance Remastered HD/S8E13 ….. Make sure you get the video with ‘Full Appearance’ in the title, because he was often filmed Only from the waist up, so as not to have people complaining. If you know Michael Jackson, you will recognise that MJ took some of his dance moves from early Elvis Presley moves …. Up until Elvis (White) singers had stood still when singing, but in 1954, 19 year old Elvis burst onto the music scene, wiggling & jiggling. His dancing was never choreographed, as MJ’s were. Elvis danced as the music moved him. People were outraged by what they termed as his sensual & vulgar display.

There is too much to say about Elvis Presley... God put him here on this Earth to love and enjoy... I would advise you if you are going to go down the Elvis rabbit hole do it right and don't stop digging until you know that you have heard everything listen to everything that he has ever done or said or sung... Because I promise you you will not be disappointed in anything you watch of his.... I would recommend that you start your journey if you haven't done it already Elvis and the black community that echo Will never die part 1 and 2... This will give you a huge insight into who Elvis was and what he was really about.... Also read up everything you can find on the Memphis Mafia they knew him best and we're around him 24 hours a day😊❤

Jane H commenting … He’s 21 in this performance, & was already shooting to global stardom, but he was also hated by many older White folk, who were scandalised by his dance movements, & after this performance, there were thousands of letters to Ed Sullivan, complaining strongly about Elvis behaving in a vulgar way. So Ed Sullivan said he would never have Elvis back on his show. But Milton Berle had Elvis on his show, (link in David Harrison’s comment) & he loved Elvis, & his ratings, which had always run behind Ed Sullivan’s ratings, suddenly shot through the roof, so Ed Sullivan hurriedly got Elvis back on his show, but because of all the complaints, he would only allow Elvis to be filmed from the waist up, so as not to offend anyone again. That really frustrated Elvis, but within a couple of years, when Elvis was an undisputed global Megastar, Ed Sullivan had grown very fond of Elvis & gave him a lovely, public goodbye, because Elvis was going to make three Hollywood movies, so would not be doing the Ed Sullivan show again. When Elvis came out of doing two years in the army, in 1960, he did do another live television appearance, on the Frank Sinatra Show, where he sang two songs on his own & then did a duet with the great Frank Sinatra. That is also a great one to watch (1960). Elvis was 25 by then, & obviously more mature, & because his dancing had gotten him into so much trouble, he had tamed it, but the screaming was still going on, & he was still dancing in a more refined way …. In his Live Concerts in Las Vegas ten years later, Elvis was dancing in a different style again, & it was back to being wild again ….. Suspicious Minds 1970 Live Concert in Las Vegas is a great example of this, as well as Polk Salad Annie 1970 Live Concert in Las Vegas. Elvis sort of reinvented himself every decade, to keep his style current, in order to appeal from young people to older people, because his original fan base in the 1950s had matured. They still loved him, but he also wanted younger people to join his fan base. Lots for you to look at & enjoy.

    Hi
I've linked the performance that got Elvis banned from being filmed full body. After this performance, he was only allowed to be filmed from the waist up because they thought his hip thrusting was causing juvenile delinquency among the younger generation. He was even described as the Devil reincarnated because of the way he danced.
Since you had no idea he could dance, I think this clip would be a good one to check out.
It is a performance of Hound Dog on the Milton Berle Show in 1956.
But, when you think it's over, it's actually not. Keep watching because he does something at the end that not even his band members knew he was going to do, but because they are professionals, they managed to fall in with Elvis and they pulled it off. 😂
