I know they wanted to make the pistols viable as a weapon but they should have scaled the weapon damage down to less if the game detects that you have a regular primary like a assault rifle or other weapon.
Ikr the only pistol I really loved in BO3 was the RK5. Seeing how I'm a pistol specialist, games depicting handguns as peashooters or low-tier/quality weapons is kinda annoying. But luckily, they don't always do that. Far Cry, for example does a good job at portraying handguns as pretty damn useful :3

DominikLederhas Not so much on the two shot kill range. Your two shot kill range is only something like a meter larger. It only confers advantages to your 3 shot kill ranges and longer. Your three shot kill range, even then, is only 3 meters longer, and your four shot kill range is only 4 meters longer. The true strength of the Tac-45 is its two shot kill range. While Long Barrel helps it, its advantage is minimal, sort of like using a Foregrip on a SCAR-H: it's a benefit you'd want because the SCAR-H has a lot of recoil, but it's far too small of a benefit for the advantage to be useful. More useful attachments exist in the forms of the magazine attachments, the Laser Sight, and the tactical Knife.
I loved running the Tac-45 as a primary in free-for-all matches. I won quite a few with nothing but a pistol. Once I finally had disposable income as an adult, I purchased one with a red dot. It's kind of expensive to shoot, but the nostalgia is hard to beat.
Same. I ended up getting a FNP-45 in a trade for an optic and some AR mags. Minus a few aesthetic differences, it feels just like the Tac-45 and I love it 😌

It seems to be a feature(?) since MW3. It causes the duel-wielded pistols to use a different fire sound (like the Five-SeveN). The pistols use the fire sound for the Five-SeveN. The standard fire sound is what seems to be the M1911.
Man do I miss this game so much, and using this pistol at that, the Tac-45 is one of my all time favorites pistols, not just in BO2 but IRL, just had to buy some version of it so I recently got the Airsoft one since the real version isn't California Legal (but the new Five Seven is now!).
I use rocket launchers and my friends hate it when I kill them with the smaw and fear me when they see me run with it I'm apparently a madman with nothing to lose

The Tac-45 makes a good backup weapon. Pairs nicely with an AN-94 or any other weapon that demands you carry a pistol secondary. For gilding this it's 2-hit kill radius is good enough that you don't even need much to make it work. It's currently my most used weapon.

FMJ does not add more damage to your weapon, it might show an increase to the damage stat when equipped,but it even says in the description the only thing fmj does is increase lethality when shooting through cover and it does more damage to score streaks.
This weapon is more suitable for snipers because it can quickly finish opponents in CQC, whereas the Five Seven can be a substitute for the missing long range capabilites of shotgun classes. The low recoil and big magazine count are making it superior at long range compared to the Tac.
the recoil you are talking about is purely visual. your shots will go where you point, although followup shots will be affected by the recoil (non visual). As far as your request of the msmc guide, he is doing these guides in the order that the guns are unlocked and is rotating through every class and posting once per week, so it may be quite some time before that review comes out.
I've noticed that when you use C4, that you tap the lethal button again. double tapping X also detonates the C4 pack as well and can be preformed much faster that LB.
I feel running extended clip is a better option than fast mag. you have 13 bullets, just in case you encounter 2 enemies at a far distance. You can also kill a enemy, reload, and cancel the reload if needed.
Always watch the replay of your kill cam. Either your cross hairs are off and you are legitimately missing with no hit marker or if you are hitting them dead center and the shots still aren't registering then its the lag making the bullets whiff. Another sign of sever lag is if you get in a gun fight where you pop a few rounds into an enemy and then in the replay it shows you just standing there not even raising your gun before you die.
Solid secondary, i run with it as a primary, long barrel fast mags for going loud and silencer for those sneaky kills. Great to finally see a more accurate representation of the .45 cal in cod, 1911 was always underpowered.

If the Tac.45 fires the .45 acp, this means that the Thompson from world at war and the Tac.45 fire the same cartridge. Hence their superb, stunning ability in their classes.
The disadvantages are only relevant when compared to the Five Seven. The TAC45 is, in fact, a relatively low recoil weapon (it doesn't kick any more than the B23R), and 10 rounds in the magazine is usually enough. If you managed to land 2 shots in succession at the TAC45's maximum possible fire rate, it effectively has the time to kill of a 1200 RPM 3HK weapon. In comparison the average fire rate for the B23R's burst is about 930 RPM. This is presuming 60 FPS on console.

I can offer my help with the SCAR. Best class in my experience is the Scar with Quickdraw and Ajustible stock, the scars iron sights are clear enough not to need a sight and the recoil whilst a little annoying can be mastered so i dont need a foregrip. Perks are more your choice but as an SnD player, I take lightweight, toughness and 2 perk 3's being dexterity and extreme conditioning. Finish the class with C4 and concussions and you're good to go :)
Loved using the pistols as primaries in this game, makes me sad that games after this have neutered the handguns.

i used to use this as my primary. i got pretty good with it, with an average of being 1st or second in tdm, ffa, domination, and search and destroy

technically its a .45 acp version of the FNP9 which is an upgraded version of the Browning Hi-power which was like a 9mm version of the m1911
After getting diamond pistols, I must say, this one prevails over all others simply because of it's amazing versatility.
They're both semi-automatic, medium capacity, .45 caliber handguns. If you can think of a better related weapon we'd love to know what it is.
The point is that if you consider the B23R to have no negative traits, the TAC45 doesn't have any either.
