I like to think that in an alternative universe, Taylor Swift is a rock star.
I like to think in this universe she will have a rock era - maybe even TS11!
She definitely is a rockstar
Same, she has a few straight up rock songs, like better than revenge redone. I'd love a Rock album from her
I have decided, since I've never seen them in the same room, that Taylor Swift and Taylor Momsen are the same person 😝 Though TS's songwriting is eons better and TM's voice is way sexier, but I can be as delusional as I want lmao

I was 'dragged' along to a Taylor Swift gig a few years ago. I was totally not interested and I only knew a couple of songs I'd heard on the radio in passing, but a couple of friends asked me along after one had to pull out.
That show absolutely blew my mind! I'd been to hundreds of live shows, but nothing even close to what I witnessed that night.
Taylor, live on stage, is a f*cking goddess!
Over 55 million in bonuses to all who worked her tour...AND very large donations to food banks in each city she did concerts at during the tour...thanks for showing both versions and your reaction ❤❤❤

The music video was done in one take. It took six hours of rehearsing the choreography to get it right but there are no cuts.
You are right about the picture on the album being a picture of himself - a dig at him being full of himself. She was pissed that her music didn't impress him so she said she wanted to drive him crazy by create a song that would a) be played incessantly on the radio so he wouldn't be able to avoid hearing and b) taunt him with the message that, although he was trying to win her back, they were never getting back together. The whole song is a middle finger to him.
Fyi, her band has been with her for years, some members since the beginning.

It's also rumored to be about Martin Johnson who had his own "rock" band and would probably think he was more legit than her pop-country
that is her real band in the animal costumes. Most of them are still with her. This music video was filmed all in one continuous take. Also her bass player is the one making the funny face in the monkey costume and rocking out in the tour video

I’ve found that Taylor is one of those people that, when you find out more about her, you tend to like her more. As someone who’s into more rock-leaning music in general myself her music still wildly appeals to me in big part because I like her as a person.
This is one of if not my favorite live show.
I need her to do a rock album.

Her band is with her since she’s 16 and I think one of her back up dancer and singer, the brunette with short hair. She was the primary choreographer and dancer for Tina Turner. She has indeed very talented people in her band.
I like when Taylor came out for the rock version, you kind of cocked your head like a confused golden retriever. That was adorable.
As a metalhead you should definitely check out her bass player Amos Heller (for the last 14 years). Originally he played and still plays thrash metal, and you will like his CZcams channel, filled with cool music.

So many people have never noticed the sweater walls. Was that an easter egg years in advance for cardigan and in her Mean MV there is a sign that says Willow, so many signs. There is one more, but without the guitar, "I knew you were Trouble". Great reaction.
I LOVE it when you react to Taylor. The 1989 tour wasn’t just rock but it does have great versions of her older songs. You’re in Love for example. And my favorite all time version of Love Story. So good!!

There was a Tour for RED. She likes to do different versions of songs from previous albums on her Tours to mix things up a bit. For example, on 1989 World Tour, she did this rock version of the song. Also, it is the actual concert audio. This entire tour is on CZcams.

Her band dressed as animals is a nod to Jake’s movie Donnie Darko, where he meets a figure in a monstrous rabbit costume that tells him the end of the world is coming.
The band Check Engine Light did an amazing Pop Punk version of this song.
I always interpreted the animal costumes as like…personified stuffed animals? Like she’s venting to them about her shitty boyfriend in the privacy of her bedroom or something. That’s just how it always seemed to me, at least.

I feel the same way about learning more about artists. It’s so important to me how they treat the people around them. Watching how Taylor Swift brought all her backup singers on the big screens along with their named in the Reputation tour (in the middle of “Gorgeous” so people couldn’t just cut out their intros), really gave me this sense that she cares about her crew. And then 100k bucks and a handwritten card for each truck driver on her tour…when she’s also working her butt off… I don’t know, that really hit me hard. More stars should do that.

I randomly came across your reaction to Don’t Blame Me ( excellent reaction) and after listening I searched to see if you had covered this live version. I subscribed and because you gave Taylor a chance even though you are a professed metal head, I will listen to many songs you review because your opinion resonates with me. I strive to enjoy and appreciate great music in many genres. I am always impressed with how many true musically talented people appreciate Taylor’s talent for songwriting, lyrics and her vocals as well as her videos and live performances. Her videos tell stories she can’t as easily tell live (Look What You Made Me Do and Anti-Hero prime examples) but her live performances is where she excels because she feeds off her fans and they reciprocate. I am 61 and the top 5 ( top 5 as of today) concerts I have ever attended ( dating back to 1972) in random order are Phil Collins, Pink Floyd, The Stones, George Michael and Taylor Swift. I would add Elvis, Madonna, Fleetwood Mac, Heart, BTS, Pentatonix, Michael Jackson, AC/DC , Aretha Franklin, Eminem, Randy Travis and Liberace to the best live performers I have seen. I miss when Taylor had a full band instead of backup dancers and singers, my partner is also a metalhead and thinks she caved with the pop. Honestly, I see fans say they want a rock album, but I think they want pop rock haha! Better than revenge on the speak now live tour after the song has an amazing guitar solo by her band if you haven’t checked that out yet!

The bassist/guitarist (Amos Heller) you mentioned is still with her as well as her lead guitarist (Paul Sidoti)!!

Great video! There was a Red tour. She usually will have some songs from previous albums sprinkled into the tour. Some in the form of mashups. They are usually awesome. Like the bad blood/should’ve said no one from the reputation tour.

I think you're right, the rock version is cool because you get to see she has some rock in her -- like the way you reacted to her screaming parts of Cruel Summer. But it's not as GOOD as the classic original pop version. It works so well that one way.

I thought it was Styles... Origin of song. Max Martin and Shellback were over discussing ideas for the 22 project. A courier with a package came to the door, and said "I hear you are getting back together this weekend". Taylor went back in, said she needed to take a half hour break, and went into a ten minutes explanation about how they would never ever ever get back together. This was captured by an iPhone and became the lyrics for the song.

Demi Lovato is doing a bunch of her songs over with different a dark theme pretty hardcore close to metal. Look up Cool For The Summer from the VMA's s few weeks ago. I never got into this song with the chorus the beats are great. Her first #1 song, a pop song. This song is fictional though. She has a way of making songs where we think it's about somebody. I wanna see her do this once in awhile with an upbeat song. Listen to Better Than Revenge. My friend can't stand her music, but worked one show this year for the money. He likes Metal, Goth, and then random stuff here and there.

They are dressed as animals because at Taylor’s concerts her fans liked to dress up as things from her music videos so she decided to dress her band in these silly costumes in the hope that her fans would mimic them for her concerts
I don’t understand why she has furries in her videos? That is a type of sexual paraphilia. Maybe Jake or John was into that stuff.
