    How to choose subjects in IB Diploma(Science)Please answer

    • @vedikapatil6024
      @vedikapatil6024 Před 3 lety +4

      you have to take 6 subjects, which consists of taking 3 HL (higher level) subjects and 3 SL (standard level subjects). You could also take 4 HLs and 2 SLs but at the end of the day it's compulsory to take 3 HLs. Plus, it’s compulsory to take Maths, a second lang, english, one science and one social science. the 6th subject could be a performing arts subject like visual arts or music or you could take either another science or social science. Unless you are doing med in India (which requires all 3 sciences) there is practically no way to take only sciences in IB.

It's not very hard to get 75% in CBSE but to get the equivalent score in IB you'll have to work a lot more, spoil your mental health, loose sleep etc. Don't even think. Don't do it unless you want to apply to some university abroad. If you want to study here don't. What you study in eleventh and twelfth grade won't decide how good you'll be at whatever career you'll pursue in future. It has negligible impact.

      A levels are used as examination criterion by the GCSE, no point in doing it unless you wanna get into Cambridge tbh. IB is well ib, It instills a work ethic for studying and sharpens your ability to absorb knowledge. Id personally recommend the IBDP but depends on what you're aiming for.

    • @achyuththouta6957
      @achyuththouta6957 Před 2 lety

      To be honest what you study in eleventh grade and twelfth grade hardly has any impact on your performance after that. People take IB so that they can apply undegraduate abroad. Otherwise there's no point in taking it. It requires way too much work. You have to write a 4000 word essay , a 1600 word essay and do some research for individual subjects along with studying the regular subjects. If you want to study here in India don't do it. You'll be jeopardizing your chances of getting into whatever college you want to go. But if you want to apply abroad, it's worth it because most countries are familiar with the curriculum and if you'll get a grade they'll know exactly what it means.

    • @RishiAgrawal
      @RishiAgrawal  Před 3 lety

      It really depends. Will you have to start all over again, from scratch? If so, are you okay with a one-year delay?
      Many universities accept CBSE these days. They even have official requirements on their websites. So studying abroad shouldn't be too much of an issue if you know where you want to go. That way, you can check with the university (email them or call if need be) to make sure they'll accept CBSE.
      IB is a different ballgame than CBSE. If you're just interested in getting admission, maybe you'll go with CBSE. If you want a more global education, IB is the way to go

      I don't really think it will be a good idea I am commerce student (Cbse) so my opinions might be a bit biased.In commerce everything is intrarelated meaning concepts of accountancy can be used in maths and economics(not in class11,12th) but if you see things from a bigger perspective..Ik ib doesn't have commerce subjects so I believe if you take physics in IB you can't choose chem (I am not sure) but what if you happen to work in a field that requires both chem and physics.Ik IB promotes critical thinking but I believe if you are curious enough you will eventually find your way out.You can give AP's say English to convice that you can engage in critical writing.Apart from this,if you want to study abroad,cbse is relatively easy meaning that you can work on your projects that will improve your profile which an ib student might not have time for+Ib doesn't have much scope in INDIA.If you want to improve your profile you can engage in ecs outside school which will all do anyway
